Now that they're putting in the work to recreate Mewtwo despite having to do it from scratch, I hope they recreate some Melee stages.

Fountain of Dreams is all I ask.

Yup, fan favorite due to being one of the most important characters from the original 151 Pokemon in the original games. Probably the third most popular overall in the series behind Pikachu and Charizard, and since both of them were already in, many were anticipating that Mewtwo would make its return at some point as it seemed like the most notable omission from the roster for the series.

You know for things like the soundtrack and MewTwo, do you think you could just get a hold of the Smash 3DS Club Nintendo code and register that alongside the Wii U version or do you think you'd need both games on hand like some NNID thing that makes sure you own both?

Definitely just Club Nintendo for the soundtrack. I don't know about Mew Two but I have to assume that Club Nintendo will still be the case for that.

My one fear is that they go with the Unova Mewtwo. You just GOTTA get the original voice back, even if they recycle the Melee voice ala Captain Falcon and Jigglypuff, and Pikachu, etc.

I always saw Mewtwo as a male and was so jarring for Mewtwo to not only have a second clone (how do you repeat a miracle and accident of science?!) but also have a female voice. But I think it's easily established that the original is out there and is Mega Mewtwo X, you see both on screen in their Mega forms in the Mega Evo special and I'm certain the special is canon. And yeah, I can gel with one having a male voice and the other with a female voice for full differentiation.

Depends if Sakurai felt he wanted Mewtwo to be current and be based on the Unova one, but he is a man who cherishes history and would surely know how much people value the original.

Like I said, even recycling his Melee clips would be A-OK with me.

Lucario actually got Sean Schemmel back after Bill Rogers took over in Brawl, but that was a dub-only thing due to the post-switch contract that prevented anyone from 4Kids coming back at the time to voice their respective characters.

We'll see I guess. :(

Also, I would fucking ADORE Dan Green voicing him in English. He is seemingly back in the XY series.

Eh, Giratina is described as being like the devil in most interpretations. Obviously PG'd up in the movies, but they don't count in canon.

Amazing direct. SO MUCH CONTENT. Also loving the fact that most of the modes have co-op or multiplayer options.

Day one for sure. Also tempted to get some Amiibos now too...

I missed Mewtwo's reveal,my connection crashed just during Bowser Jr's trailer.

What a Sakutroll, he teased DHD in the previous potd but he we got Bowser Jr.
But Mewtwo was the real megaton 'cause he Know we Know the leaked characters.

The amount of stuff to do in this game is mind blowing.

Sakurai must be exhausted from getting this all finished holy shitttttt.

Should probably not trust the 7-11 security cameras quite so much
I'm a little bit underwhelmed with the stages, hopefully they have some big plans for DLC. There are few too many green, grassy levels for my taste.

This did it. Im getting a WiiU. The amount of content is staggering and spoils me for future fighting games. Going from Brawl to Street Fighter IV where all I had was Training, Versus, Arcade and Online was appalling.

My one wish would be Snake for DLC.

Good job, Nintendo.

if we woke up tomorrow and pokemon was real (a common fantasy), the immediate thought on the back of most player's mind would probably be something mewtwo related. that's how important he is to most pokemon players.

Probably register both on Club Nintendo and get a 1 time use DL code. Just like the Mario Kart 8 + Free Game deal earlier this year.

Can someone explain me why everyone is so obsessed about having Ridley in SSB?
I mean Ridley is cool, but on the other sider he is big and he flies and I don't see how he integrates in game well.

Maybe I'm missing something, lol.

Ridley's just become a running gag more than anything.

Pretty sure no one actually cares or wants him playable.
