Not sure if it's related to this update or the Playstation app itself but I can't change my profile picture, I connect the app to my ps4 but when I try to select a picture I get a message saying it can't change it.

Took about 30 seconds to download and update my PS4, and it looks and feels much more stable now..

as spwolf said earlier, the download speed on PSN is related to the Akamai CDN regional server that you get assigned.

Unfortunately having everyone get the most optimal server assigned from a CDN is not a solved problem.

If you consistently get shitty download speeds it's worth changing your DNS settings. Maybe try Google's Public DNS or Open DNS.

Or run namebench http://code.google.com/p/namebench/ on your PC and improve your PC DNS performance in addition to maybe solving the PS4 issue you're having.
(Quickest is not best, you will have to try because it's important that you get the right CDN regional server assigned.)

Are you WiFi to your router? All my Sony devices work like dog shit on WiFi and it's why I hard wire everything.

For me the difference was 10 fold in speed increase, not joking.

The update took like 15 secs, I'm on a PS4 I just got yesterday. Everything is so fast, holy shit at the store popping up instantly, whereas on PS3 its laggy as hell. Even the system is really silent, and I played infamous for hours. Maybe its not the most demanding game, but so far I can't tell the unit is on besides the white light.

Ever since update 2.0 anything to do with PSN downloads has gone to shit.

On 2.01 I noticed that the OS was sometimes a little choppy when switching between the top row icons (like friends, party, etc.). 2.02 seems to have removed that choppiness.

On another note, I wonder what changes they made under the hood in 2.0 to have issues with both the OS and games... sounds like a lot of code changed.

2.02 took me 30+ minutes to download, while every other update has been extremely quick.

Was PSN just slow last night or might I be going back into the black hole that is PSN's shitty download speeds? I wonder if it's a netflix-like situation with certain ISPs bogging down pipes during firmware update/game launch days.

What in the hell? After 2.0 Remote Play was massively improved for me, and now with 2.02 it's straight-up broken. It connects, starts to give the "bad connection" icon after about twenty seconds, and it stays on the screen until it finally disconnects a minute later.
