Glad it's finally pretty much confirmed.
Now we just need Tekken and Soul Calibur! And maybe Virtua Fighter.
Well, unless I'm mistaken you'll still be able to take advantage. It's just you'll have to do it with people you trust, since effectively you'd need to be gifted it instead of using the trade window.

Well naturally you don't do it with just anyone. It's not beyond all possibility that you may know someone on Steamgaf or on your friendslist from a particular region surely. That's what I was referring to.

This trend of 'Remasters' is going a little too far now. We're getting stuff that's getting a 'newer, shinnier' version close to a year after the initial release quite often now. Looking at Dark Souls II it will be pretty much exactly a year before a new slant drops. And people give FIFA and Madden shit for churning out new releases every year with only minor changes but praise this kind of stuff? That's not even mentioning what goes on in the PC space where an upgrade path would be much, much more viable.

Do we actually know that there are no upgrade options. In the end I assume many PC users will not be as eager to bite. But this is operating under the assumption that the heavy buyers of remasters are those on the consoles for which the game wasn't available for

Hahaha well I'm not just picking on them. This year has had Tomb Raider Definitive Edition, Metro Redux, The Last of Us Remastered, Sleeping Dogs Remastered, GTA V, Halo Master Chef Cookoff and even Pokemon chucked out a couple like they sometimes do and I might even be missing a couple. Even that stupid awards show with Keighley has a category for Best Remaster. Should we really be giving credence for what is essentially money for old rope? I feel partly to blame as I indulged in a couple and both Metro and Sleeping Dogs' newer version in some parts were not better that the initial offerings. While they had some new additions they lacked some effects or robustness of the previous version on PC.
Seeing as we live in a pretty connected world these days I'd love to see the figures for how many owners who played the initial game online (ie got a trophy or achievement for it) and how many of them also bought a later 'Remastered' version of the same game. I wouldn't be surprised if it was over 50% or much, much more. I mean GTA V sold to pretty much everyone with a PS3 or 360, how many PS4 or XO owners of the new version never played the first offering?

For me, the LEGO Star Wars games are always up there as a "I'd like to have these but without a discount I'll wait", but I'm also looking forward to grabbing a few indies. Maybe Capsule. Of course, I'll probably check out the discounts and wait for the Winter Sale, but still.

So I'm just waking up to the news on this 30 day trade lockout on newly purchased games but still allows gifting. Sorry if this has already been answered but are the games that have been gifted still locked out from trading for 30 days? The announcement only says gifts in the purchaser's inventory are untradeable.

Since PC and next-gen versions were done on parallel with old-gen versions (PC was made to next-gen specs from beginning), releasing PC earlier would've harmed "next-gen" console sales.

But these things don't just magic themselves out of thin air. They take time and more importantly money which needs to be signed off by someone in a higher managerial position that full well knows what the score is when putting out one version to suit one audience then surprisingly announce another for newer hardware a short time after. As Zafir says...
Pretty much but this whole ordeal seems to be about maximising the profitability of each release. PS3 & 360 then PS4 & XO and finally getting on for 15 months later a PC release. Well at least it's not the same ordeal of having two versions out on PC.

The Mods have decided that they don't want Community to be something to be ignored and looked down upon, so they moved a bunch of threads there in an attempt to make it a viable alternative to the main boards.
Well at least it's coming to PC at last and not with a secondary version replacing another. I can sell my PS3 copy and be done (well I bloody well hope so). I think after my experience with Metro and Sleeping Dogs that any rereleased PC version I'm going to wait until the jury is out before committing to a purchase. Plus with Dark Souls II Super Hyper Shiny Remix using a DX11 based renderer that means no GeDoSaTo magic (well for the time being). Be interesting to put both versions side by side.
Oh, I'm not denying that. I knew from the very beginning that the reason we had to wait for so long on a PC release was because Rockstar wanted to maximise profits. Get people to double, or even triple dip on the game by staggering the releases. Hell, that's why PC version was delayed past the next gen versions. Best version saved till last. So those who can't wait will have to buy it on next gen, and then again on PC.
The issue is, it shouldn't be happening. It's awful for consumers. Of course, Rockstar mostly get a free pass because everyone loves GTA so they're willing to buckle.

Is it just bad luck or risk of rain is still a buggy mess? Game crashed to us (clients) 4-5 times yesterday, it's almost impossible to finish the game.
What a new one? I've still got stuff from the past Sega Bundle to ModBot away but it's 4 flipping games tied to one key.
I've not had it crash on me before, it might be bad luck. I haven't played online though, so that might be why.

Have you played the PS3/Xbox 360 versions? Did you play the betas? Do you think that the graphics shown in the trailers were reasonable to pull off on the last gen hardware?

Yeah pretty much. They seem to have confused the hell out of people by saying Windows (DX9) and Windows (DX11) which has some folks thinking it's something like the same build with a different renderer when it's been made quite clear it's two separate versions. Whether or not it's that graphically improved is to be seen and FROM have never been the best at taking decent screens for promo materials. All the content additions will be in the current PC version though bar some new 'Online Improvements' and 'Enemy and Game design improvements' which are only in the newer version whatever they are.
