Part of me thinks well that unfortunate, but the other part of me things, awe well, they are being uninformed ninny, so it would all be the more sweeter with more of Uncharted rolling out after seeing how much work they are putting into Drake at PSX.

it looks good to me. wish i had a ps4 to play it, maybe ill get one at a later time and cop UC4. the lighting in the trailer looked a bit mute though, would like to see more vibrant colors if anything, everything looked a bit bland in coloration.
Probably because someone tried such comparison, previously.

I'll have to somewhat agree with the disappointment. My expectation was that after I saw the first ND on PS4, my eyes would melt. I'll also have to agree that it definitely does not look as good as the E3 trailer. If it actually looked like that, even at 30 FPS, I'd be blown away. I'm a huge ND fan though and will still love U4, but I have to admit that currently, The Order is the most impressive looking game on the PS4.

The game is still 1 year away. So ND definitely has time to improve and polish the graphics.
For an early build, having this level of graphics is already a big achievement for ND.
If it follows in the steps of the teasers for Uncharted 2 (Drake in the snow picking up the phurba) and Uncharted 3 (walking through the plane wreck and going into the desert), it definitely will. I think it's a superb achievement in animation, even more impressive than the visuals, and they'd be nuts to leave it out imo lol

Well it looks worse but I think everybody long ago accepted that the E3 visuals are out of reach for gameplay. Maybe they will be left for cutscenes, no?
But aren't they Naughty Gods?!
I guess many, many believed these graphics to be what to expect gameplay which is/was even more unbelievable considering E3 was 60fps.

Well we will see how close they get when the game comes out.
Still people should know that cutscenes will always look better than game play even if there real time.

I mean I see that one is night and the other is day, but there's a lot more foliage in the former than in the later.

Or maybe it's just a completely different setting with completely different lighting with no actual evidence of a decrease in details or effects? That said, real-time cutscenes will probably do a bit better than gameplay for sure (as was the case for all ND games thus far)
Edit: why the hell are we still discussing this? Demo was impressive, they still have one year to go.

Certain scenes look pretty rough. The jury is out though on whether there was a downgrade or just inconsistency and misrepresentation via cherry picking for trailers.
I think it is a just how inconsistent the graphics are not like they turned stuff down.

So is it my understanding that people concede the game wont look like it did at E3 by the game's release? I got shit on in the UC4 reveal thread during E3 for saying that the trailer they showed was a pipe dream and that it wouldn't look like that, especially running at 1080p 60 FPS. A bunch of people in that thread started talking shit anout how people are mad because UC4 is gonna look so amazing and that it would be up there with the best looking PC games and any claims to the contrary were met with " You shouldn't doubt the skill and prowess of Naughty Dog" What a bunch of shit. You go to Neogaf thinking some of the posters here show a little more intelligence and are at least more skeptical of what videogame studios pass off as "real-time" but nope, just a bunch of people who buy into the same bullshit and claim that they're different.

Does it really matter what they understand? They have working eyes and can tell a difference in quality when they see it.
One is cutscene, one is gameplay. Sony chose to reveal mindblowing cutscene footage first and set the bar extremely high. Any follow up with gameplay footage was, of course, not going to live up to that.
It looks exactly the same. The only difference being the lighting condition. In a trailer they have the option of adjusting the lighting condition to make it better for the viewer. It's the same thing directors do while filming. The night shot has the moonlight hitting drake in the face
The pictures below are taken at the reason they look difference is just the angle.
If we throw in fake lighting and color correct the images to bring out the details we can see there is no loss in quality in Drake's model.
Ridiculous that people even need to explain this.
