Yo shaddup.. I haven't been able to do jack these last 5 months due to graduation soon.. I got one semester left!!!
The last one will be complete hell..

lol, im just teasing you. the higher education life ain't easy... wish you the best of luck tho and visit FGCW every now and then, it gets stale sometimes

According to Maximillian the game actually received a damage buff.

Also Marvel 3 never had its speed changed but rather the level of play was slow when people had hands on. Hell MVC3 was not as fast for quite a while until people fine tuned their wave dashing and plinks.

Similar thing is probably happening here but the walk speeds on the characters are definitely slower especially for Ryu.

Yea that is what exactly what I'm talking about. People had to take time to get used to all their movement and damage options. So movement became more frenetic and damage was more available.

The walk speed sadly in the current SF games aren't close to fast as ST (you can just feel it by playing them), but I don't know how fast this one is compared to SF4, which is already slow compared to other games, and taking in account how dashing would work (I didn't really see how fast or far it went if they did any dashes).

It looks fantastic. It feels a lot more "wholesome"?
It's the meaty animations. Moves linger after they are used more realistically and characters react to attacks also more realistically. Everything has an incredible amount of weight to it. It's slightly over the top but it works really well here.

Alot of stuff shown can still be changed drastically so whatever people see in this is gonna mean shit a year from now. Has the updated trailer been uplouded yet?

I used to hate school for awhile and didn't think it was for me.. But it feels really good knowing that I could finally graduate higher education and maybe pursue more!! Never thought I would feel that way about it..

"Kinda wish the Revenge wasn't another meter mechanic, but eh. I couldn't listen to anything, how does it work/fill up?"

It's the same as the Revenge meter in SF4 so far as they showed. It's just that there doesn't seem to be supers tied to the EX bar any more.

so parry is confirmed? This game looking more and more like a mix between alpha and 3rd strike. And there is nothing wrong with that. I saw some people calling the game slow but you have to realize this is probably the first time playing for mike ross. He doesn't even know how to play this game yet. And you can clearly tell combo was going easy on him.

I'm excited about SFV but I have to admit that I couldn't get that hype for it because Mike and Combo aren't really good at the game yet. It was like watching 1000pp players playing USF4 right now. I can't wait to see what these characters are capable of once the top players get there hands on it and get a good idea of how things work.

Yeah you're right on. I feel like I'm literally going into the combo (Ryu's) just by watching it.

It's early of course, but man I still hate the look and movement of the game, probably because it still has hints of SF4 in it. New stuff is in there, but you can still recognize old animations in there. Really slow and clunky too, even slower than SF4 crazy enough.

I guess it goes without saying that SF4 is my least-liked SF both gameplay- and art-wise, which is why I'm this down on SF5 with its faint hints of similarities.

SF5 looks like one of those fake games on a crime show

That is a legit good description of what I could call that right now, not even kidding.

And damn Combofiend hitting the gym even harder than before it seems.

The game was being demoed, you expect pro level play in alpha? But I agree it looks good!! Tekken 7 looks decent also aside form some of the new character designs..

yeah seems to me supers are ultra now and ex bar is used for power ups. Also its pretty safe to say characters have multiple supers as ryu was using shinku hadoken here but on the other trailer he was using denjin.

I missed the gameplay footage, but the revenge bar combined with the power up stance thing... they aping KI's instinct system?

Anyone think that you might not die from chip anymore? That one sequence of Chun Li blocking two low forward fireballs made me think that.

There was no parrying in either match. I don't think parries are back.

I hope they aren't. Rather they try to fine-tune Focus or upgrade from there....no parries aren't an upgrade of Focus.

Sure seemed that way. If there is guard crush as well it would make sense.

I predict that parries, crush, no chip, move swap etc will all be in ... as options.

Man, me and Dadwicks were watching grand finals after finishing our meals at a restaurant and we were both super into it, lol. Good shit to Momochi, he played his fucking mind out today and totally deserved it.

And yo CHARLIE is back. Kinda wish we got a brand new character
or Skullomania
but I'll take Charlie.

Street Fighter 5 just is sort of clashing and ugly though. It's objectively got good graphics in the sense of "look at all these graphics we put in our fucking game" but the heavy particle effects mixed with the sort of realism mixed with the watercolor/ink stuff just clashes and it's awful. I kinda wish they'd go with some GG Xrd stuff.

Great tournament great experience

If they removed chip that would be amazingly stupid. Granted the game is a long way from coming out, but I can't see how that would be a good thing in any way.

The bowl falling on her head adds another hit to the combo. GOTY

He got access to Denjin via the powerup.

Making Supers only Ultras likely has to do with input simplification and possibly removing double motion moves. (aka Super = QCF or HCF + PPP)

So freaking stoked to see what other characters they bring back and what new ones they come up with. JUST PLEASE NO RUFUS! I can't stand him.

That's great to hear, there is never any harm getting out of the poverty monster's den to go into the debt monster's den
but being able to pay it off later in the future and become a regular monster.

Watching it again, there is chip damage. I guess they just really nerfed chip on hadokens...or at least Ryu's hadokens. Not a bad move imho.

You can see Chun dash into the 3rd hadoken, that's why Ryu gets a clean win and not a chip one.

I should've been more clear, but yeah chip death is what I meant. That's always been huge in SF and Capcom games in general.
I'm sure there's chip death, just not so much w/ projectiles maybe? And Chun dashed into that last hadoken so there's that, too.
