DmC Definitive Edition ($40, major rework) & Devil May Cry 4 (w/ Vergil) for XB1/PS4

Man, I want both of these. Hopefully this means a DmC 2 isn't far off or a Devil May Cry 5. They may as well put the DMC's 1-3 on the consoles as well.

This really feels like some sort of test to see where to take the franchise in the future. I hope they make the right decision. I'll buy Devil May Cry 4 for a third time if it helps them choose correctly.

You'll be waiting waiting a long time. DmC's plentiful issues were mainly numbers tweaks and have already appeared. DMC's issue was the reuse of level assets. To create a remaster worth buying, Capcom would need more than another character treading down the same hallways, they would need a full fledged game.

Judging by how both games sold on initial release and this thread, DmCDE is going to sell 1/10th of DMC4SE. I will eat my hat if it doesn't.

I'm going nuts, man. This is huge. DMC4 always needed another version, and I can't believe they're releasing one 7 years later.

The DMC4SE announcement is still pending. I'm expecting it to have new modes as well, along with the addition of Vergil. I'm crying here.

Didn't expect to see this happen, but its good news all the same.

Had so much fun with DmC on the PC that I'm probably going to pick this up.

For the love of god Capcom, please give Vergil's Yamato a rising launcher move. PLEASE! Having to jump after the ground launcher in DMC3 was pretty lame.

Vergil lives, I wonder how they are gonna change the story, So hyped
He's never fully died, he was just Nelo Angelo after DMC3. They'll probably just explain it as Nelo is Vergil's DT like it was in DMC3 if you unlocked Vergil's super costume with unlimited DT

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
Oh no no, I'm just trying to understand. I need to know.

From what I've read on here this could be an indicator of a new DmC with that one guy on that picture everyone's quoting so I guess it's that what people are so hyped about.
That one guy is Vergil from DMC3, not the rebooted Vergil from Ninja Theory's DmC.

That's where your logic would fall apart, assuming you had any to begin with.

This sounds AMAZING. An actual definitive edition. It added more stuff than DMC3:SE did to DMC3:DA. The fact that they took note of all the awesome mods the PC version had and put it on this version just shows that NT does listen.

Can we get those other extras on PC too?

With this, I'm sure DMC4 will finally reach 3 millions sales. Let's go!
Foregone conclusion at this point.

Hell would not be surprised to see DmC break 2 million because it's not like there are many other action games on PS4/XB1 to play.

This edition of DmC is better than 90% of action games easily.

That "guy on that picture" is an addition to DMC4, not DmC. He has incredible story relevance to DMC4, but since the game was rushed on initial release, the arc couldn't be fleshed out. The tease not only guarantees a fan favorite character is returning to the old series, but it opens up the possibility that some of the big plot issues in DMC4 might be somewhat addressed.

These times are good times to love action games.

Bayo/Bayo 2 - 2014
DmC/DMC4W/FUCKINGVERGILOMG - 2015

Good times, good times.

$40 is a perfect price for the game and the new content they put in it. People shouldn't complain about this when Sleeping Dogs was released for $60. All remastered games should be for $40, even GTA V.

Anyways, I loved DMC, it was my first Devil May Cry game and believe it or not, it made me want to play the old ones too. I hope Ninja Theory make a sequel to DMC. I dont trust Capcom's devs to make a worthy successor, only platinum games can potentially create the best DMC ever.

DMC4SE has to come out for PC. It has to. The only question is whether or not if will be an expansion or a whole new game.

Yet it was the best selling in the series even with its issues. DmC not so much.

Echoing the need for Boss Rush in DMC4SE. And Must Style. Also they need to add all of this to PC.

I REALLY hope DMC4 SE has some of the new additions. I can't believe they implemented a Must Style mode into DmC. They must be lurking these boards.

I thought the same. Not only Must Style, but the bulletpoint for combo / style video sharing was posted in the DMC5 thread as well. It's almost too much of a coincidence. I'm gonna dump my key DMC5 ideas in the other thread later tonight because of this.

I see. So this is like Nintendo announcing Wind Waker Wii U with a picture of the cancelled dungeon then. Or something like that.

I've only played the new DMC.

I have a friend who's probably super happy about the DMC4 announcement.

Guys, notice how none of those is called "Remastered".

What if Dragon's Dogma Online is Dragon's Dogma for PS4/Xbone with online?

Hold me.
I'd love a new Dragon's Dogma right now but I'd be fucking in like Flynn to play Dragon's Dogma again. Especially with stable frame rate and no screen tearing across all versions.

Mercedes! I'm coming, my love!

Probably won't pick it up again but I'm glad they adjusted the whole Red/Blue enemy BS. I actually really enjoyed the game, but that design decision left me scratching my head.

Gimme all the DMC's!

or you could pick up the pc version being at it runs great on a potato...

Never played a DmC game; should I check this out GAF?

it's good but its not really DMC, if you want a propper taste of the franchise you are better off playing DMC1,3,4

dmc3, dmc4 and DmC all made there way to pc... Hoping the tradition continues. Seems like there's some stuff in this that isn't an officially released mod, most notably hardcore mode and target lock.

Seems like porting PC games to PS4/Xbone are too easy so they are trying to release the definitive editions to take advantage of the new consoles momentum.

If anyone buys DMC over Devil May Cry 4, you are one sick person and you are singlehandedly ruining the Devil May Cry franchise.
How about I like both because both are good games.

Seriously Devil May Cry "fans" are the worst in their hate for DMC.

It's insane how hyped I am over this shit. 7 years after the last game in the franchise. Even after a reboot. We got new DMC content to enjoy. It's not dead...DMC ain't dead!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSS

Sorta yes. And that dungeon would have to be very very significant to the over-arching story of the Zelda franchise. So yea, hope that helps you understand why people are freaking their shit.

A little search would show you that those that developed DMC3/4, the two best games in the series, are still 'Capcom devs'. If anything i ONLY trust Capcom devs to do DMC after the turd that was DmC (keep that capital M for the real shit please).

I looked carefully but it looks like there isn't a PC version planned... or maybe they're going to update the existing PC versions?

Hope Capcom clarifies this since I own a copy of DMC4 on Steam.

Aside from Vergil being added to DMC 4, do we know what else they're doing to the game? Are they gonna re do some of the encounter scenarios?

I know that's how the game is structured but are they gonna try to find a way to remedy the second half of the game where you're just going through the same place Nero went through?
