What is the worst Nintendo developed game?

Smh at all the people saying kid Icarus uprising. Even if the controls didn't gel with you, there is no way that game can be considered bad, much less their worst game ever.

Does it have to be fully internally developed?

edit: If not, then DK Jr Math for NES

Out of what I played, other m. a lot of the biggest stinkers are probably the random nes games though. Can't say I've gone out of my way to play urban champion.

Prehistoric Nintendo: Radarscope, a dull Space Invaders clone

Old Nintendo: Urban Champion

Recent Nintendo: Haven't played it but apparently the first Steel Diver is pretty bad.

Super Mario Sunshine. I didn't like it so it's the worst of all time.

But seriously, I think Urban Champion fits this bill. I don't think Ice Climbers is much better.

Three games I absolutely loved.

Was Uniracers that bad?

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2011/06/a-reason-to-hate-pixar-uniracers-on-the-snes-is-a-masterpiece/

This article is pretty fascinating. Also, a lot of reviews I looked up liked Uniracers....

Tee hee.

Uniracers is interesting...it's Nintendo's attempt at making a Sonic game, but they only made a tech demo without making any platforming stages so it's kind of boring in that regard. Pretty neat as a tech demo-y thing

Urban Champion
Ice Climbers
Pinball
Wario's Woods

... Yeah the NES era had loads of crap ...

Dude, Pinball. Is so good.

I mean dude. Those dancing penguins are adorable.

i don't think it's the worst, but clu clu land certainly deserves to at least be mentioned here. my nervous system simply refuses to cohere with its control scheme.

i don't understand the wario's woods hate, though.

I think Wario's Woods gets pretty fun and addictive once you get the hang of it, but the color scheme makes you feel like someone emptied a lava lamp onto your retinas and it seeped into your rods and cones @__@

Wrong about commas, wrong about everything
Wii Music.
It's a bad game.

Can't comment on NES games since I never played them (except for Mario, Mega Man and Metroid)

The worst? Probably Wii Music. Such a disgrace that that game even got made. And in a world where anything with the name Wii on it sold gangbusters the fact that Wii Music was, by far, the least successful Wii-something of the era says something of it (even if it managed to sell 2+ million units out of inertia alone). Nothing but a nonsensical waggle-tastic cheap money grab made out of nothing but public domain music to fool clueless parents.

What a piece of crap.

Also not the absolute worst but my personal worst letdown is, without a shadow of doubt, Yoshi's Story.

To this day I hold Yoshi's Island close to my heart as one of the best platformers of all time. YS was marketed as the sequel and bought it because of that. 30 minutes after firing it for the first time I was watching the credits while listening to an ear-bleeding preschooler's song while Yoshis cried (sang?) alongside it. What a waste of $60 bucks which for a 12 year old was a fortune!

why Kid Icarus Uprising?

Please explain your reasonings!

Having to learn a new method of playing a game seems to SEVERELY piss off some gamers.

I put 100s of hours into KI:U Light vs Dark online, I can't believe the number of people who think the controls are "unplayable".

Theres a 1st party nintendo game that came out in i believe 2010, It was called I believe flingsmash, it got basically no advertisement, and the one reveiw I saw of it, which I think was ign gave it like a 4. something
I think that's disqualified on the fact that it was developed by Artoon. Guess it's dependant on what you define as Nintendo developed

The correct answer to this question is an NES game. There are number to pick from here. This is due to limitations of the system or design of that first wave of games and them just trying different things out in the beginning. There is no way around this. Anyone naming a game past the NES is doing this wrong.

Urban Champion is possibly the one I'd pick but it's been a long time since I really played. That or Ice Climbers.

Kid icarus uprising, Mario sunshine and Wii music are worse games then Metroid Other M?
metroid other m was a great game design wise. its the characterization of samus followed by plot that you're crying about.

ice climber or wrecking crew gets my vote.

Are the people saying Kid Icarus Uprising serious or trolling? If serious what is your reasoning?

There are some games that I don't like, but I can see that they are well made...

on the topic of Urban Champion: in NES remix, they made urban champion kind of fun.... can't say the same for Ice Climber :/

To everyone saying Wii Music, that's a close answer. Same goes with Urban Champion.

The worst game though, that Nintendo has ever made is this stupidity:

Flingsmash_cover.png

The game is basically "what if you wanted to play Breakout as an actual game with horrible motion controls, terrible graphics, etc".

- Urban Champion
- Wario World
- Kirby Air Ride
- Mario's Missing!
- Yoshi Touch & Go
- Yoshi Topsy Turvy
- Steel Diver

What NES Remix taught me was the system didn't really get good until the end of its life cycle (1988).

Stack-Up should also be mentioned.

Yoshis New Island. The game is very dumbed down compared to the other games in the series and the art style is just unappealing to look at. The music is also horrible too considering how amazing the original SNES version was.

Wait, what are the conditions for a game to be considered as developed by Nintendo?

Shocked at how much hate Ice Climber get??? Especially Uprising.

I actually, would said Urban Champion here.

Ice Climber after u get used to the control is super challenging platforming game which is I think very fun game.

Uprising is just badass after badass. The online is also crazy fun.

Urban champion...... Don't think it is good at all.

I like Sticker Star though as I feel that the experience is new for me.(Newbs on paper mario series.)

agreed with ice climber. The control in that game is garbage. If I have played it, Wii music would prob be up there too.

That Wario Ware photography game from Intelligent Systems was pretty dire.

Wait... What was the name of this.. This is vaguely familiar to me... but I can't quite place it.

When you say photog game it reminds me of that Chibi Robo eShop game that I wanted to love but could never get the whole "take pictures with your 3ds" thing to work well enough in the demo to warrant a purchase.

Paper Mario Sticker Star.

The entire core design of the game is so pointless and redundant its almost hilarious.

That and it was completely lacking any of the charm and wittiness that made the Paper Mario series fun in the first place.

This one or Wii Music. Such misguided attemps to fix something that never needed fixing. And both are Miyamoto's fault, which makes me worried about Star Fox.

Aside from a very catchy theme song, I thought 'The Mysterious Murasame Castle' gameplay was pretty blah. However, the concept of aliens invading ancient Japan (along with a whole host of mythological demons) sounds awesome.

As for a more legitimate answer, Mario Party Advance is definitely up there for being the worst.

Maybe Spirit Tracks. Slightly more tolerable on its own than the other unholy parts of the Wind Waker trilogy, but that flute minigame might have been one of the worst things they've ever done. Thank god I only borrowed that game, because I literally couldn't finish it with that broken shit in it.
