Guys I just got word from an extremely reliable source that PS4 won by a pretty huge margin, like over 500k. I've known the source my whole life and its very reliable and its only leaked several times and this is one of them.

Still think Microsoft raising back the price is going to hurt them in January a lot. They dropped majorly on Amazon's list

Just some quick math, but if this is what I think it is, December was huge.

"The Xbox One deals were quite popular and have inspired a new promotion starting January 16 where fans in the U.S. can buy an Xbox One for $349 at their preferred retailer."

Here we go again.

So before November PS4 was leading by 1.2 million, then xbox closed the gap by 400k, so that leaves PS4 with a 700k lead, right?

Ok, yeah that makes sense then. For a second there, the weird PR threw me off and I was like how on earth is it possible MS lost December, it didn't make any sense for it to have

So are we going to re-serve crow for those that didn't believe the price drop was eventually a permanent one?

That would make no sense. Why let the price go back up to $399 for a month? That is foolish. More likely, if MS loses its momentum (very likely based upon the PS4 being back at the top of the Amazon best seller list and XB1 dropping), then perhaps in the Spring? Or more likely at E3. I don't see a price drop before then.

The Xbox One deals were quite popular and have inspired a new promotion starting January 16 where fans in the U.S. can buy an Xbox One for $349 at their preferred retailer.

One back at 349.99 MUCH quicker than I would have thought. Ha.

MS had no choice. If they stayed the $399 pricepoint they might have had Wii U levels of sales until the next Holiday season.

This really is unprecedented.

And all those who loled at us saying they wouldnt make it permanent can now eat crow.

I knew they wouldn't fully return to $399. It wouldn't have made any logical sense for them to do so after cleaning up in November and December.

Nov + Dec 2006 for 360 was 1.641m

50% more than that is 821k + 1.641m = 2.462m

Minus the 1.23m it did in Nov and you get 1.23m for Dec?

Yeah I had no idea how long it would last or not when they said it was going back up. I thought they would have stuck to $399 through the slow months of January, February but smart call on their part.

Yep, they saw the numbers and realized $349 was the only way to catch up.

With it being permanent, and the sales reflecting the price point, I wonder what action Sony will take.

They already did something, since now The Last of Us: Remastered is in bundle with every PS4, IIRC.
