Destiny |OT16| Enrage is here, there, everywhere...

I'm looking to do the parts one and two again of HM to try and get the AR. Playing on vita so no mic. Hit me with an FR if you're up for it.

Ltwood12

I need to do it with my alt Warlock as well, when we assemble a team I'll send you invite. I think you're in my friends list.

So I just did Deathsinger on Normal having not even faced her on Hard, and she gave me no loot. Even checked the Postmaster and nada. Same thing happened with my Crota Hard Mode kill, and the Abyss Defiant showed up a few hours later at the Postmaster.

Weird.

There is something odd going on with Deathsinger. It appears as a separate loot roll in the app for normal and hard.

I did normal all the way through with my Warlock on normal on Tuesday and it filled all 4 spots as yellow in the app for normal. Then did Crota first on my Warlock on hard, then abyss and bridge. Looked at the app and it had one spot still greyed, Deathsinger.

Did it on hard and it gave me nothing. No other loot roll that is tracked in the app like that does this.

I believe Bungie simply moved the exotic chest code to the Deathsinger without changing the code for the roll. Therefore messing it up and not giving proper rolls on normal and hard.

Hotfix incoming!

So someone just got a Gjallarhorn at Deathsinger.
And another Gjallarhorn from Crota.

Shard them both!

I got my first decent piece of Titan Gear. It has Intellect and Discipline!
It's the helmet :
I'd complain more, but the Black hammer also dropped and that's cool.

Death singer keeps giving me no land beyond and dragon's breath. I feel blessed.

Graverobber is indeed a reskinned Timebreaker. Can't say which primary is best since I only have two, the SR and PR.

I tested out the Graverobber and it is exactly the same. Just reskinned. Tested it out in the mothyards and kept switching back and forth between it and timebreaker.

The boost seems to last the same amount. Was hoping that would at least be a little longer

The sparrow is not rewarding at all then. Imagine doing the crota cp for hours and getting the sparrow.

They gotta put a sparrow and a ship in the loot table somehow.

Sparrow should have been covered in hive rock though.

I am legit shocked that Abyss Defiant the pea shooter is usable in crucible, it might even be my go to weapon for the Iron Banner auto rifle kill bounty in the future.

Unless you're going for an extremely specific build, like Voidwalker Warlock with Obsidian Mind, Bad Juju is a piece of shit. It falls under the dreaded high RoF/low impact sub type of pulse rifle, a type of pulse rifle which has no business being in this game, because just like their high RoF/low impact auto rifle cousins, every pulse rifle of that type is outclassed heavily by their high impact counterparts.

In the last OT, I gave a list of the current top 5 pulse rifles in Destiny, a list which will only get better when the new datamined pulse rifles of the high impact variety, get added to the game with House of Wolves. The current top 5 are.

1. Red Death
2. Three Little Words
3. Super Pox VLO
4. Fair & Square
5. Strangers Rifle

Bad Juju ain't getting anywhere near this list, neither is crap like Oversoul Edict and Praedyth's Timepiece. Strangers Rifle is up there because it performs exceptionally in PvP, though once the two new high impact pulse rifles get added in, it will drop from the list. From HoW onwards, the pulse rifle top 5 will look something like this

1. Red Death
2. TAU 5051505 UAT
3. Down/Out
4. Three Little Words
5. Super Pox VLO

When Bungie finally decide to give us the Trials of Osiris, the high impact pulse rifle you can get from there, The Messenger, will replace Super Pox, though where in the top 5 it will be will depend on it's stats. All I know is that Three Little Words will be a definite for 5th place, due to it's attack rating being lower than the others coming in the next expansion. Since it's a PvP related gun though, I'm guessing it will be something like this.

1. Red Death
2. TAU 5051505 UAT
3. The Messenger
4. Down/Out
5. Three Little Words

Taking pure stats of a weapon and classing them according to those stats takes the perks and their benefits, and the general feel of a weapon out of the equation.

So we'll agree to disagree. I like Juju because it's full auto, hardly ever runs out of ammo, and fills the super up fast. I would never use it as a primary for end game content because there are better options for taking out enemies more quickly.

My feelings on the weapon is within the realm of pulse rifles. If it doesn't auto fire, I want nothing to do with it. That puts juju into a very limited range of pulse rifles

This is purely my own feeling, not based on what a spreadsheet tells me.

I know people like field scout on fang of ir yut, but I almost feel like perfect balance is better. Especially since you're going to be using spray and play anyways, so even if you run out of ammo, you'll have a super fast reload so you can just get right back to shooting. Fast reload + near max stability = win.

Why do you prefer full auto? It's not hard to get max firing speed on weapons by manually hitting the trigger.

Gonna try and see if I can find a team willing to do her on Hard later today. See if I still get no loot from her. Plus I still need the Shrieker chest.

Why do you prefer full auto? It's not hard to get max firing speed on weapons by manually hitting the trigger.

Hard to explain exactly why, but I think it has mostly to do with my level of dexterity, and how pumping a trigger might cause my aim to drift.

I find just leaning on the trigger and focusing on aim from there on in to be a more comfortable experience.

Is the abyss winnable without cheesing on hard? Every group I've been with had been unable to more than two or three to the plate, and even if we got them all, I can't see any strat would be able to deal with two yellow bar ogres and knights rushing while still under the weight of darkness.

It's always come down to a titan on the rock, or a hunter playing hide and seek.

Thanks for the info about VoG loadouts guys. Very helpful.

One quick question: do you get more loot after doing the raid on hard after completing it on normal? Done it on normal yesterday and got some loot. Done it today on hard and didn't get a thing. Nothing from the checkpoints or chests. Is this correct?
Also if you join an Atheon checkpoint, having not done any of the previous bits, do you get loot there?

a lot of things in this game come down to personal preference. if you like a gun and can do well with it that's largely all that matters. I'm not discounting the stats on weapons by any stretch of the imagination and I like high impact weapons and dislike pulse rifles. I'm just saying, to some degree it's just a shooter, you use what appeals to you.

edit: I mention this because I like full auto pulse rifles much more in comparison to standard myself :p

I have only ever done that part legit. Other than the flawless run.

The bridge however... That shit is cheeeeesy

Watch the video in the Bunige weekly update from the worlds first Crota HM. They one shot the whole thing and the only place I saw people dying was I think on the bridge and in the shrieker tunnel. Absolutely no cheese, nothing even remotely cheese like at all. They didn't even jump on the rock.

We did it several times without cheesing. With several 31s too. Have a lead person running ahead using the midi and shooting behind to help others. In several cases that was me.
Have two people worry about the ogre while everybody else tries to stay alive if they can when you get to the plate. One person can be on the rock near the lamp and another person can be on a higher rock next to the plate. Like those two take care of the ogres with the horn or sniper rifles.

Fair enough. For me, weapons that have the full auto perk just feels "off" to me.

Kadey do you do any runs of the raid at reset?

It's hard to get all 6 to the other side on hard. It's basically asking to be cheesed. One strat I like a lot is to get 3 on the other side while leaving a Sunsinger behind. Since it's to survive long enough to hold the plates, we have everyone on the starting side kill themselves. The Sunsinger would kill themselves on one of those floating platforms. Since there are three on the other side, the Sunsinger just has to wait for the first sign of ogres to self revive and help snipe them.

I was doing VoG on normal.

We got Atheon to appear but we weren't able to destroy de Oracles on Mars/Venus.

I think I have that checkpoint, so if anyone is willing to do just the last part this is my GT: mocolostrocolos

Interesting. We just always had 1-2 people left to cross the bridge.

I guess you could always leave a sunsinger dead at the start and have them revive in those usual cases where the bridge forms right when everyone dies.

We encountered a lot of glitches.

-Sword falling through the map and disappearing (infuriating how often it happened)
-Knights rushing through the windows
-Crota kneeling and not animating when he strikes
-Swordbearer not leaving his spawn

But ultimately we prevailed after 2 1/2hrs.

SoulClap - Atkison04 - JDirty - JustGotWicked - TKRunningRiot - and myself

It was fun using the sword to kill him. Was able to hit him a massive 5 times in one kneel at one point.

Fix your glitches Bungie. Or nah, I'll probably keep torturing myself (and you know it).

Got the Word of Crota x3 this week :/.

My Eris rank right now is 2 and I'm at 1993/2000. This is painful since I did all of the bounties for today.

What's the best way to swiftly level up the upgrade the Eidolon Ally btw?

We cleared Hard raid without single cheese on Team Husk.

We did this in our 2nd Crota kill. Works pretty well, as long as one stays alive on the other side.

We always try for getting all 6 to the other side but if one dies on the ogres' side after getting 3 over, we basically fall back to the Sunsinger strategy if we have more than one on the team. If not, starting side still wipes and you can still two man the Ogre side. You just need to be extra careful.

We had a fun bridge section this morning. All of us were warlocks except one 31 Titan. We had him go across to hide and we revived and unleashed hell.

And I just realized Light Behind Nemesis is good for Hard mode. Have to level it up now for future use.

My group usually just has one person go across, and they crouch right by the end of thr bridge (on the corner of the platform, between those piller things and the edge). Nothing ever hits them (gatekeeper usually just walks off the edge), so everyone on the first side wipes, then sunsingers revive and start sniping.
