New The Witcher 3 Gameplay

So basically, if a single 980GTX runs at 60fps (per 3Djuegos) on high, it will run the same performance at Ultra, right?

There is literally nothing to go on, other than the quote that the same system they were using at the event, would run the game at Ultra. That statement gives no information about the performance of that system other than running it.

All anyone can do is take previous statements (eurogamer) - "Witcher 3 on PC ultra settings adds better tessellation, more physics, more post-processing and more realistic fur", and assume that that is more demanding on the system than "high" presets, ergo, a less powerful system should have no issue running the game at "high", but that is all that can be assumed

So on Steam this is listed as 20% off, but when I click to pre order it adds it to cart with only 10% off?! What's the deal I want to reserve at the 20% off price?

not a huge fan of this series, vids look ok, nothing mind blowing. BTW the sound design and some of the hair animation on the horse is very bad

That was pretty awesome. Characters definitely look better here than in DA:I, but honestly I feel like DA:I's environments look at least just as good.

Could do without the huge horse stamina bar at the bottom of the screen.

Visuals look incredible. Blown away by how good it looks and this is X1 footage right? PS4 should look even better?

Should probably look for another game then. The Witcher games are really story heavy, the dialogues and story are probably the best part of the game.

Yeah but side-quest dialogs are usually very skippable (Like the one about the 3 bandits).
Can you at least fast forward?

Can anyone notify if the interview features PS4 footage? My mobile Internet is currently insufficient for apt playback.

Looks like the same exact footage that was shown in the other videos. The guy their interviewing just says that he will play the Witcher 3 on PS4, I'm assuming he means when the game releases.

It looks fine.
If i was you, I'd wait for clean Gamersyde (or similar quality) downloadable video footage before screaming of downgrade, because you are watching one hell of a shitty video so far.
The only thing that bummed me are the animations, but wth, i guess i can live with it, even though I'd prefer if they fixed them a bit, but it certainly is too late for that now.

The animations and the draw distance need some work, but for the rest it looks great! I just hope my old i7 870 doesn't explode trying to run this game (but it runs AC: unity surprisingly well, so that gives me hope).

As you make choices, people will react to what you do in the world. Expect NPCs to comment on your choices and their demeanor to change if they agree or disagree with them. Also, different people and activities will be available depending on the time of day.
Characters from the first Witcher game that weren't in the second won't be making an appearance in Wild Hunt. However, it's possible that CD Projekt RED will bring them back in DLC.
For crafting, you must find a blueprint, collect the necessary ingredients, and then locate a blacksmith skilled enough to craft the item. It's straightforward, but finding a blacksmith skilled enough will be more of a challenge. Some blacksmiths are not immediately accessible and can only be unlocked by doing quests. Apparently, you can craft some pretty spiffy armor for Geralt.
Geralt has a father/daughter relationship with Ciri, and that doesn't change. CD Projekt RED followed the books and wanted to make sure it introduced new fans to the Witcher lore accordingly. "You see that Geralt who is usually quite tough and serious clearly has a soft spot for this girl,” said senior game designer Damien Monnier. "She’s not a damsel in distress; she’s quite badass,” added level designer Miles Tost.
Regarding the alchemy system, You start with a recipe, find the ingredients, then create a potion. This potion will have four to five uses. But here's the cool thing: once you create the potion, you can obtain more by merely mediating and drinking some alcohol to replenish it. This eliminates you constantly having to track down ingredients, although expect the ingredients not to be as easy to find to make the potion in the first place. CD Projekt RED has this new system because too many people were afraid to waste the potions they crafted in past games. This encourages players not to be scared about wasting them and to experiment more with the alchemy system.
Melee combat features over 100 combat moves and animations. How many you'll actually see just depends on if you want to focus on that branch of the skill tree.
You can meditate anywhere you can build a fire, but you can't just go into a stranger's house and meditate at their fireplace.
CD Projekt RED took fan feedback into consideration when tweaking the combat. It wanted it to be much more responsive and put the player in more control, while still being challenging. Another goal was to make it so people could easily grap the mechanics from the onset.
More was revealed on transferring your save if you're moving platforms or played on Xbox 360. You will come across a character that will sing your past tales to you. You can correct this character with the choices that happened to you if he gets an event wrong. This is differently woven into the narrative and not something separate from the game.
You won't just be riding on horseback. You can also climb mountains, swim, and dive. The game has different paths to get anywhere, and those will reveal different goodies.
Some fun side activities include the return of fist-fighting (but they're no longer QTEs), a new horse racing minigame, and a new deck-building card game that's based on one in the books called Gwent.
CD Projekt RED is still working on its insanity mode, so it couldn't reveal much, but did say it's toying with plenty of ideas, like having dying delete your saves. Nothing has been decided yet, but it wants to make it super punishing without eliminating the fun.
There will be an option to still play after you complete the game.

How is the video in terms of story spoilers (even light ones)? Trying to avoid so I can be surprised while playing. I did watch the videos before, so I'm okay if it's a similar footage.

Damn! wont be able to watch till I get home. Post impressions here people on how glorious it looks.

Just unfuckingbelieveable. The pop-in is noticeable, but everything else...I just love it so much and cannot wait for the full game. Reading the books and seeing how insanely well CDP brought them to life is a dream come true.

Reading the books has definitely made me more excited for the game.

After watching the high-bit footage i gotta say that the screenshots don't give it justice, it's actually bizarre by how much. Though i still think the lighting could be a little better.

i heard they werent translated well. are they?

The english translation isn't as good as some others but don't let that discourage you. It's not like they messed up the story, Sapkowsky's original writing has a lot of nuance that requires additional effort to convey in other languages.

My prediction for this game is that it will have combat that's not amazing, but still much better than that in Skyrim, and that it will catch a lot of shit for it.
