Beef what are the chances of new Dissidia getting into Evo

Well it's on an arcade cab, so the FGC members who still have arcade hard-ons will be interested. And Japan loves their arcades and their Final Fantasy.

I'd say better than Skullgirls' chances of getting on Evo's main stage.

Did we get to the bottom of the Square/capcom thing? New dissidia suggests something ff in sf?

Ono said he didn't want to talk about it. Max made a video about it saying how it could have been a mistake but who knows, cross overs seem to be in right now.

Speaking of Nesica, I think about a year ago was the projected release date of Yatagarasu. Crazy how time flies...

This game needs to hurry up and release

Infiltration is playing against Daigo on his stream.

Nice, I'm watching the archive right now. I guess I should expect a beat down going by the comments after this.

EDIT: I skimmed through it and man, Daigo got blown up pretty bad. Sure it's just online casuals but I'm sure both guys were still trying. It was like the year 2012 all over again when Infiltration kept bodying Daigo over and over. I've never seen Daigo's Evil Ryu look this free, and it was to a match up that he's very familiar with to which I find the most surprising.

Rice on blast.

I tend to think I'm one of the good ones lol. BTW, we haven't played USF4 against each other in ages now. Maybe sometime this weekend if we're both available.

The new Dissidia's looking mighty fine. I was a little surprised that none of the villains were shown off. I look in the topic for the official reveal and the first thing I see is a screenshot of the Warrior of Light. Surely, I thought "a screen of Garland must be around, too". Nope, 'twas not to be at this time. He'll definitely be in though, he and the Warrior of Light are the mascots of those games.

I liked how the trailer showed off mostly ground combat. A lot of the fights in Dissidia look like DBZ fights once they take to the air. We'll see if this new Dissidia follows suit, but it does look like it's being built from the ground up; that's how I see it, anyway. I look forward to more.

I debated getting Xrd for PS3, but decided $20 was probably too much given how likely I am to put much playtime into it. So Imma get some Street Fighter. Third Strike complete edition, SF2HDR and Alpha 3 will run me around $7 total. Is the PS1 version of Alpha 3 worth playing?

Well Akuma may actually be top tier again now. The Ultra nerfs took from him a key thing - his main footsie button. The fireball buff gave him something relatively good to throw out that you can actually get payoffs off of because the fireball actually combos worth a damn now.

Also previously Akuma and Ryu had different good fireball ranges - Ryu's was at the far end of footsies range, where his harder-to-see fireballs were good and the long recovery matters less (+ex is just pretty much unreactable period). Akuma's fireballs were pretty iffy because 14 frames starts being seeable. The many different fireball options and low recovery on normal fireballs and LP shaku are very good at long range fireball games though. It's why Gief was easier for Ryu - the foundational tools for the match - fireball, sweep, dp converge into a single really nice range. Akuma wanted to play at that range, but it was awkward. The other option was airball heavy far range stuff, which took forever and had low payoffs.

Now Akuma has both the good recovery and the good startup. He can play a fireball game at both Ryu's old range and his old range, so he's just plain comfortable on more ranges. That's a very, very good buff.

Also, pre-patch Ultra Akuma had a ton of tools you couldn't build a game on because of how punishable and situational they were, and a ton of damage that he couldn't really convert anything into except upclose. Now he got both, and I wouldn't be at all adverse to high mid or low top ranking. Anything less would just be wrong.

projecties aint shit in 3S tho

They get used all the time at the farther end of footsie range. It's just outside footsie range that parry royally kicks their ass.

If it's the PSN stuff, most likely not. Actual disc on actual hardware, maybe.

Are those Akuma combos actually new or is this just him going for damage/stun since vortex is no longer a thing?

A lot of them are new in that cl.mk gained force stand and st.hp became special cancelable in Ultra. Also cr.mk xx fireball fadc conversions work from farther ranges.

It's just better to play Akuma in an Evil Ryu-ish mindset now, the reward for combos is guaranteed, but DWU royally screwed up the more rewarding forms of setplay.

Man, it's been a little while since I played USF4, lol. I need to get back into the groove for Evo.

Still gotta decide what games I want to play too.

Infiltration looking scary though.

People forgetting Skullgirls got an exhibiton on Evo's main stage, if this new Dissidia doesn't hit consoles it won't even get that. :lol

(it should, though)

Guessing Poison is going to turn out pretty good at this rate.

How is the VF5 community on ps3? I have the game on 360 but might double dip if people are playing there too.
over winter break I was able to play the game on psn. it's more populated than xbla, although the connections are less stable. I've heard there's an influx of young blood in ranked due to the sale, but be sure to search worldwide nevertheless. if you draw a blank search don't mash refresh like a madman, take a breath and search again in a second. I don't usually have too much difficulty finding games, even on XBLA, but it does take patience at times. I played with roughly 10 players last night, I think you'll find more than that on psn tonight.

also, make costumes. make good costumes.
