Exact same thing happened to me, got sent the Majora's Mask plates instead of the Triforce ones I ordered and now they're sold out of both :/

Yeah, I'm thinking about doing a few alternate mockups with Disk-kun enlarged across both and a pattern of several of them across both.
Any suggestions on where to get the stickers printed and cut?
I was also considering laser etching and then filling it in with black model paint. I'm unsure if the plate is rigid enough to hold up against laser etching though.

Contemplating getting the pink charging cradle...
On one hand, it's pink. I'm a guy and I'm not sure how I feel about having something pink on my night stand.
On the other hand, I think it would compliment my black 3DS much better than the white or teal charging cradles.

Mail carrier came and went and still no faceplates. Tracking has not been updated either... This is starting to wear thin on my nerves and according to the USPS customer service, they can't launch an investigation until 5 days which is tomorrow...
This is why I prefer import sites like Nin-Nin, Play-Asia or Nippon Yasan because the option for FedEx is there and I have NEVER had any problem with FedEx getting my stuff delivered...

Got these stickers from an eBay seller for $7 shipped and my daughter is really happy with them. I thought well if its shit then who cares but they are decalgirl quality as far as I can tell. Even going around the corners on the lid it warped down with some heat applied by heat gun.
Handed down 3ds is now new 3ds to her. I just need to find a case and slim covering for my new black n3ds xl

Since faceplates are not available in my small region (U.S.), they never really bothered me that I couldn't get them. Some were cool, but none blew me away, until I saw this one:
Kirby's always been a favorite of mine and there was something about this particular faceplate that I loved. The theme came out in the U.S. yesterday which was awesome, but I still wanted something more.
So, 1 trip to GameStop later, I picked up this: 3DS XL Clear Case
and made this:
It's not the best, but it's mine and I like it. just printed off the images and cut them to size. Now I can print off others and change them on a whim without buying a decal each time.
Basically an updated PSP playgear pocket for those that remember them.

Finally after a week of worry. Material is gloss, but looks great. At least if I get tired of cleaning, I can switch it.

Has anyone in the UK seen a transparent hard case for the standard new 3DS? I've ended up scratching up my new triforce coverplates.....not happy these plates scratch waaaay too easy! I scratched the original ones within 5 mins of using the console.

I can take some more photos when the next print comes off the bed, but they are basically identical to the official ones (the clips are the same) except a little transparent until painted due to the type of plastic
Any pre-order news? Looks like amazonDE had the Kirby, Pikachu and Xenoblade coverplates up for pre-order earlier today but now they are out of stock and I missed out every single one <.< At least I found the Xenoblade one at another german retailer. Otherwise I have to try my luck by checking every single shop in my area. Some of them still sell both Zelda coverplates.

And the Monster Hunter ones went back up on EB Games Australia, ordered the white one.
Think I'll preorder the Kirby one too.

This is probably a dumb question but would it be possible to make completely clear transparent plates like this too? It would be awesome to have some and put custom paper printed designs inside

Not through 3D printing sadly, but Id be surprised if someone doesn't make clear ones in the future

I would love to see some 3D-ness to the cover plates like these iphone cases:
Sure, they would need to be painted to get all the details, but I'd love to see some 3rd-party cover plates that have depth like that.

Ah alright I thought so but yeah hopefully
Though if I could 3D print I would probably take hours and hours to design my own perfect custom plate and print it out like that anyway

NOA can't help, so I took things into my own hands.
