I know it's just a demo but man they need to fix the framerate. I went back to the demo after playing bloodborne and it felt practically unplayable due to how much stuttering and slow down there is especially during battle.

Nooo! It will be 3am here in Brazil, and by no means I can be awaken. Tomorrow morning I have an university exam.

Well, I guess I'll have some content to watch tomorrow night.

I am weary as well... especially after what SE did to that Mevius FF character :/.

I'm almost at the point that if "changing character design" is all they do, I'll be fine. But hopefully they have something like the Roen deal for other characters too, so they won't be able to mess with that.

Thats 1AM... But you already know I'll be awake cause college! Can't wait to see the changes, demo had great promise but I have hope that SE truly listened what the fans really liked and disliked

Not all preliminary decisions are smart. Changes can be for the better.

Although the Roen clothing is perfect for the cast in this game, it may come to bite them in the ass if they don't allow for any other clothing.

sigh... I won't be discussing again on how focus testing your game is literally the worst thing you can do.

Also, they already confirmed that the party's look won't change.

Cidney is the character design people are asking to be changed, not the main crew.

I know, I'm just saying that the decision of having a deal with Roen for the character designs might hurt the game if it doesn't allow for more clothing options. We pretty much already have confirmation.

What do you mean? You liked the original character design? That thing was horrible. I thought the revision was great and it was totally in line with what most people asked/complained about. We will see but I am confident they are actually hearing the fans this time.

There needs to be a right balance of creative vision and fan feedback.

But it's FF, so why would you expect to be changing outfits? Outfits sometimes change in the series for story related reasons, but for the most part characters have very specific looks. They're set characters rather than characters you're supposed to mold.

I don't even want her changed at this point - just stop focusing the camera on her chest for once.

So far the XV team has done a decent job of taking feedback. The hit-stop that fans got onto them about is a good example of them listening. It was a strange change for the game in the first place since it wasn't there initially, and then all of a sudden they release gameplay where every hit caused the game to look like it was about to crash.

But I think they need to draw the line at some things. I'd say they need to just come right out and say no to airships. It's quite obvious that the game wasn't being designed for them, so don't waste development resources on trying to fit it in.

It was fine. They shouldn't have changed it just because some people whined on the internet. If anything they should have given an option for a more covered version if that's what those people wanted, not destroy the original intent.

Pretty much...

Thankfully Kitase is not involved in XV though, so there's hope for that one still.

Because it's cool to have? Even clothing bonuses for New Game+ or other optional obtainable clothing is just a nice thing to have on top of the default outfits. I'm not saying that this needs to be fully customizable game where you can choose every accessory that the cast wears. I think optional clothing would be pretty nice in this game especially since people are up in arms about their clothing already.

All I'm saying is that if they were looking to add something like this into the game, but couldn't because of the Roen partnership, then that would suck. Tabata has already said that there's permanent clothing anyway because of things related outside of the actual game.

Play testing and collecting feedback is a crucial part of game development, especially at this level. You spend too many of those 12 hour days in the trenches and your word can't be trusted; you're just too close to the game. You need an outside perspective from folks with little investment and no fear of being honest. You'll be hard pressed to find a developer that disagrees.

That said, play testers off the street are one thing, fans are another. There's a different level of investment there that I hope they're conscious of.

Right. There's nothing inherently bad about either.

Got to agree. People get worked up about this, but the proof will be in the pudding. I suspect many commenting here would highlight Realm Reborn as a good example of balancing feedback and core vision.

Just have to see how it plays out in XV.

Where you been Vire? Tabata had been really really open with fans, having these FFXV reports every month.

People are actually a little concerned that he might fear fan backlash too much, and try to change every tiny detail, instead of direct the game he wants to.

Oh really? I haven't kept up, you guys keep hiding in the demo thread. :p

Anything worth noting that they said or shown since the demo released? I played it when it first came out but moved on pretty quickly.

Did you play on XB1? I just ask because the frame rate drops weren't that horrible for me on PS4.

YoshiP did it right, which is why I have hope that Tabata is smart.

But then you have of course the main Feedback game Square made with FFXIII-2 and then the most recent showing of not knowing how to take feedback with Mobius FF.

We'll be seeing where Tabata falls into all of this today I guess.

Yeah, XIII-2 is, in some ways, definitely feedback-gone wrong. Tabata has impressed me so far, but he's obviously never handled something this big, with so much riding on it. Got to keep his cool.

I must have not noticed it. I noticed it get a bit low, but nothing that I would deem unplayable(<20fps)

It hit near 20 FPS in combat pretty consistently. Outside of combat, the framerate was pretty good.

As Flandy said though, I fully expect the final game to have polished up on many of the graphical effects and FPS issues. I didn't even hold it against the game demo as I expected it really.

It's more of a super early access than a demo. The game is still over a year out.

It's clear now that what we got really isn't much different from the FFXII demo. It demonstrates how the game works on very basic level with the greater mechanics missing same as that did.
