Yeah even in the third testfire session which was at 4 in the morning in Japan there were at least two Japanese players in every game I played

IGN said the game won't catch on with Japanese customers. Like i'm pretty sure they were like "I don't expect many people to play in this Testfire Timezone because I don't think Japan are interested"...

I'm not exactly sure what you're expecting from the game in Japan...

"Ikarajio" Press the button to match the BGM in the game, but the so-called rhythm game.
Difficulty There are two stages, the difficulty of the above transcendence unmyelinated.
I hear there is only also listen mode BGM without a game.
You can get in amiibo challenge of "squid".

"Squid Radio" is a rhythm game where you hit buttons in time with the in-game background music.

It's got two difficulty settings; the one above is the hardest.

Seems like it's also got a BGM-listening mode, with no game attached.

You can get it by completing the Squid Amiibo's challenges.

"Squid Race" is a racing game where you gotta navigate a course in a set time limit.

Blast off when the light hits green - avoid enemy jellyfish - drift around corners and aim for the title of "fastest squid"!

Looks like you can get it by completing the "Boy" amiibo challenges.

"Squid Volleyball" is a minigame where you toss and smash catfish.

You score if you can shoot the ball over the opposing jellyfish's court in three balls or less.

The controls appear difficult, but determined - exhilarating!

Get it by completing the Girl amiibo's challenges!

Thank you for all the great translations!

So they put the best minigame along with a music player behind the rarest Amiibo in the West. I really feel this makes the Squid Amiibo super appealing (along with those Kraken challenges).

So happy someone in this thread posted Walmart still had the bundle up. Though I had wish they had a store pickup option. Still was free shipping if I remember though. Just inched over with it being $35.

Damn. Why isn't this minigame locked behind the squid girl amiibo.

I can see the game being a surprise hit in Japan (Relative to the WiiU install base).
The game is totally fresh, it's the first competitive TPS with a Japanese influence and the sense of fashion and customization might work well over there. I can also see the competitive MK8 Japanese players pick it up.

I'm trying to figure out what you get by using an Amiibo with Splatoon. I see mini-games (which vary if you have the boy or girl squid) but otherwise, do you get things that can be used in competitive online play that are otherwise inaccessible?

Sorry, tried searching in this thread but having trouble finding an answer to this question. Any input is appreciated.

Says more about IGN doesn't it?
I heard the testfire demo had weird hours for Japan but I still saw quite a few Japanese players.
I remember seeing quite a few japanese players on turbid st testfire hour, albeit that was like at 11 entrap time, but still.

The first testfire would have been about mid-afternoon in Japan.

In retrospect, for all the talk of the testfire hours being weird, each one corresponded to where there'd be at least one mid-day session in each of the three major markets.

You can't use the number of Japanese people appearing in the same lobby as yourselves during the Testfire as an indicator as to how well it will do sales wise in Japan.

It's an okay gauge of dedicated fan interest (enthusiasts, say) though.

"Squid Jump" is a fun minigame available right from the start.

Charge your jump by holding down ZR and keep jumping to get to the top!

Evidence suggests you'll get other minigames by completing Amiibo challenges.

We reckon you'll get one minigame per Amiibo.

In one corner of the plaza there sits a dearly-missed arcade cabinet.

Here you can play nostalgic minigames that might just remind you of the 80's.

You'll also be able to play them while waiting in the lobby Online.

The contents might be simple, but we think they're an unexpected, addictive treat.

The hands-on demo stage is called "Dekarin Underpass".

Battles unfold across the pathways that link two sections that are surrounded by sprawling walls.

Control of the centre appears to be the key to victory.

It debuted at last year's E3, but it seems like large-scale construction work has occurred since then.

I just want the squid for the armor wonder if you can use it online

Unfortunately that one is only sold in the triple bundle in the US. While in Europe it's only available as part of the collectors edition.

Yeah the costumes are usable online. I think the minigames are more important since you'll probably replace the costumes but the minigames van be played while waiting.

Squid has the best one as it's a rhythm game and music player for the songs.

Figures the US would get the worst deal. Wonder how much the squid online will go for on Ebay.
