this could be all we will ever see of a Splatoon manga since it is a Nintendo IP
so I doubt they will push a series for it but one shot is not the deal breaker here

Honestly the author having done Mega Man gag manga fits better.
I'm still holding out hope Nintendo releases Squid Girl Crossover DLC. First thing I'm going to do is post on Miiverse about it probably.
Would be incredible if it leads to season 2 get released in the US. I mean they still release OVA's yearly.

Not sure if this is the best Splatoon thread to post the following, but I'll give it a shot here (and in the Spoiler thread):
For those, like me, who already fear about this game's long term playability when - at some point - Nintendo shuts down the servers and as such makes the online modes / maps unplayable, apparently there is a petition going for adding offline Turf War against bots that could use your support.
I'm not sure how succesful such things can be, if at all, but signing it couldn't hurt I'd say. I'd hate it if this game would lose a large part of its functionality down the line, especially because I feel it might become one of those evergreen titles for me (and many others I hope) that you'll want to keep your Wii U around for so that you can fire it up when around summer time etc (like Outrun 2 and Street Fighter 2/3 for me personally).
Ok, with that aside, splat on...which in this case means waiting till the 24th or 29th I suppose...sigh...

I guess this goes here since the Japanese Splatoon twitter account posted it. Demonstrating the capabilities and then a match with the charger,
In the beginning of the match, it looked like the other team was just letting the player splatter them lol.
Marketing's started in Sweden it seems. Came across these at Webhallen in Malmö. The chain is generally one of the biggest video game retailers in the country.
They also have a large Splatoon flag inside the store adorning the counter (but not as big as the massive Mario Kart 8 one that they've had up for over a year).

I'd be surprised if Splatfests were regional given how well the international networking appeared to be during the Testfire. Has that been confirmed?

You're better off getting this. It's more authentic and I bought it because I'm going to do a Splatoon cosplay at next year's PAX East.
The first Splatfest events are different for every region and start at different times as well. I'm guessing that it will all be the same once every region gets to June 27.
The first one for Japan is for the duration of June 13-14 and it asks you to pick a side between Rice and Bread.
The first one for NA is for the duration of June 20-21 and it asks you to pick a side between Dogs and Cats.
The first one for EU is for the duration of June 27-28 and it asks you to pick a side between Rock and Pop.
This really makes it seem shitty that Super Sea Snails can only be obtained during Splatfests.

The game better be as fucking fun as many say because it doesn't even have bots amongst other things.

"you die" is actually "theme".
And that, kids, is why Google Translate sucks.
EDIT: An actual translation of that sentence would be something like, "The theme sent from God seems to be different for each Fest." Google Translate would have actually been pretty legit here if it didn't, you know, translate "o-dai" as "You die".

That's pretty cool, haven't seen that level before. It definitely does a good job of showcasing the charger as a defensive weapon. Seems like the added elevation increases its range too. Do the power ups equipped in the video have any effect on the weapon? Other than increasing the amount of ink.
damn, I hope they add those in an update. I don't know what I'd do if Smash didn't have CPU opponents. Then again maybe the online will be good enough to have a sustainable community.
Oh, fair enough, then! Are they planned to be unified after that?
