Ultra Street Fighter IV on PS4 is much, much better now. Bless.

Sorry but your opinion holds no weight.

You're not going to understand the problems people have because you don't play fighting games.

Okay

But yes I can understand you and have big respect to all the pro players out there so lets hope Sony/Capcom can fix all the issues at least somehow

I asked before but didn't get a response, do you happen to know if that version has all the DLC like the PS4 version does?

If you don't care for the animal costume pack. Then buy it. But in my opinion, I think that alot of them look ugly so you're not missing much if you buy it on PC tbh. I'd recommend that you buy it for that platform.

A patch is already being submitted today. I'm sure more will be on the way after... why wouldn't I believe the game will be fixed? It's beyond premature to be arguing about refunds because of a game being broken two freaking days in. This gen has had a shit load of games being released broken then fixed with later patches. What supports anyone believing it will not be fixed?
If you want an example of something that potentially can't be fixed or won't be fixed, doesn't the PS3 version of SF4 have slightly more lag than the 360 version of SF4? From what I know the lag difference has been a known problem for 7 years and counting.

Where's the fix for that? Is that not something Capcom or Sony can deal with?

Even so, should I have no recourse on dealing with a bad product? If I buy a terrible game and don't want it, I'd get a refund and buy it later when it's fixed. Is that not logical?

But think of the poor companies

Yeah, in some ways I kinda wish they left the animal pack out of the PS4 version. They're so hideous, and you'll see them all the time as a result and I even love alt costumes. Rose's is pretty nice though.

PC version is a no brainier if you're interested and have even a semi-capable PC.

Rumor is the Steam summer sale starts the 11th of June, so something to consider.

Awww..please don't take offence to a statement like that . It's kind of like when I tried my first IPA beer ..I thought it was great . Until my craft beer enthusiast friend showed me the way and said that IPA is actually crap and stuck a 6 dollar a 12 oz bottle with what I can swear was a hand written label craft IPA in my face. I don't really speak to her anymore ...fuck that !! Y'all can be nicer about this that shit hurts!! lol

You can get the Ultra version for 11€ from a legit site, this is lower than the last Capcom sales.

We're getting a online beta with SFV so people can't really be blindsided like they were with the USF4 PS4 port which I don't think was ever shown publicly or previewed by any gaming sites.

Exactly. There was a thread a week or so before release where I asked if Capcom or Sony had shown footage of the game running on PS4. People directed me to the trailer but I wasn't looking for that. I didn't think of anything at the time but now I know why they weren't showing it in public until almost release day, when codes for MVPs were sent.

Ps3 has the same input lag as arcade cabs. Because of hardware issues, the ps3 version can't have this improved upon. With that said, if arcade cabs are the original target platform then the inconsistency from the 360 is really the outlier here.

Ooh, that might be perfect then.

I can plug and play a Madcatz PS3 stick no problem right? And its just the Animal pack thats missing and not the Vacation pack or anything? If so then I don't feel I'm missing anything at all, especially for 12 bucks on PC...

Anyone have any tips for playing as Juri?

She's really good at footsies and is good offensively but low damage output. Her Ultra 1 is great but Ultra 2 is terrible unless you catch people off guard. Her biggest weakness is her defense flat out sucks and you don't want to end up in the corner yourself as her option are very limited as her start ups are slow. Before Ultra her EX Pinwheel use to be good pushing away anyone who was blocking now they just create a vortex.

Thanks Combofiend

Depends on the iteration of the stick, for example my Round 2 does not work even though I don't have the wrong chipset

Yikes, that could be a sticking point. I think I may have the Round 1 however, not sure. Is there a way to check before purchasing the game? Is it just the game itself that may not recognize it, or is it a problem with the entire PC not recognizing it?

One thing I don't get, DisplayLag said 8 frames of lag, Gilley says 5 frames similar to PS3 version. Which is right? Because for me it certainly feels minimal.

Yah I don't get why people make it the golden standard. Besides the input lag difference the only other great thing about x360 was most people used a wired connection online (unlike PS3 with built in wireless). I think there wasn't much of a performance issue (besides everyone chooses training stage anyway). I only remember PS3 lag in stages was more present in marvel 3.

True, that's his thing, but there really needs to be another version tested with his method for comparison. Did he do this? Just like the input lag database numbers are mostly useful for comparison, and not necessarily as absolutes.

Yeah, I'm going to be testing the 360 version, PS3 version, and PS4 version+PS3 stick this evening.

I will then compile quick clips showing how I did this and make a video out of this. It's basically the same way people figured out the input lag on PC/360/PS3 previously.

Awesome. Thanks. It should be very interesting to see.

Yeah, I was playing it on day1 and the lag felt minimal like the PS3 version. I guestimated just from playing that it felt about 1-2 frames of input lag(from the 360). The next day I see the DL test said 8f of lag and didn't believe it was that slow. Then I noticed they used something called a XIM4. It allows you to hook up a Keyboard/Mouse to your consoles. EDIT: I asked on some chat forums about this XIM4 and someone told me "oh yeah I have one of those it lags"...take that as you will. I dunno if those lag or not.

I decided to run my own tests using just a TE2/DS4 and my results pretty much matched up with my guestimation.

i got a fightstick from my ps3.

and i don't use my ps3 anymore.

can anyone please tell me this game is not THAT bad ?

i love fighting games :(

i got gg xrd mkx and that super hero game.

please tell me that this is GAF just over reacting a little bit :(

I will not play online. I just want some SP Ultra SFIV. Just for my understanding - is the port bad even on single player?

No it's fine for SP, you might get the odd mecha dudley glitch but other than that it fine. If you don't play professionally or very high level, you won't notice anything gameplay wise. Obviously the menus are borked ect but gameplay is relatively fine.

Single player like literally single player against CPU and stuff? It should be fine

Single player as in offline with friends competitively? Depends on if you treat it seriously or treat it like a party game

Great job guys!

To be fair QA has nothing to do with this botched port.
They can report 1000 bugs but if there's no dev time (budget) to do so then nothing will be fixed.

True but I'm not absolving Capcom at all. How do they not check in on one of their flagship games?

We're talking about a company that misspells it's own name and the name of it's games on box arts. How the fuck does this surprise you. Capcom check barely anything.

But what about the missing Sonic Booms for Guile, and the other glitches? are they constant?

As a Junior QA tester myself, I second this. All we can do is point the issues to the devs.

On this case, bet money a higher up from Other Ocean just said "we'll worry about the bugs later, let's just ship it"

Well then, my post is still okay, just forget the sarcasm :p

You cannot trust any test that isn't empirically measured.

There are a few reasons why I spent $100 on a precise lag testing device that I haul around with me when I stream tournaments, chief among them being know-nothing know-it-alls who like to blame their off days on my equipment.

you mean the Bodnar tester? Yeah I got one :)

It's a strange one, especially since a stick and pad both had the same results. It definitely doesn't feel 8 though, even online that's for sure.

Btw watching your videos got me to pickup playing as Guile :)

Those are probably rare glitches like many games have, I have about 7 hours played already and haven't experienced the sound or weird graphical glitches yet. For me so far is the no names in online and empty ping bars. I don't know anything about the gameplay stuff, because I just use Oni, he seems normal .

I just found out. Sadly it does not come with the Vacation DLC. You only get whatever DLC that was available for purchase, before Ultra SF4 came out. (Vanilla and Super DLC) I'd probably just get the game for now though. The vacation DLC goes on sale on Steam quite alot. I paid $7.89 last year for the vacation DLC. I'm sure that the price will be even cheaper by the time Steam sales start up in a few weeks. Also which Madcatz PS3 Stick do you have. SF4 Round 1 and 2 sticks have issues on PCs. Every other stick after those two should be ok.

I would also wager that if it's external QA, 99% of the QAs won't be professional fighting game players/experts. Same with any game really.
