Well, yes, I don't. But you know, having a nice looking game helps immensely. Visual maybe aren't the be-all-end-all but it has value. Seeing the last-generation animation work and the bad textures is pretty disheartening.
Gamebryo is hyperbolic i admit, but rather fitting analogy for how SAMEY the game looks to last gen's Fallout in spite of the coat of paint. Then again, if it wasn't samey, I wouldn't know what to expect.

Where is the outrage against Bethesda? I dont understand the gaming world anymore. Ps4 is selling better than x1 right now, so lets assume fo4 sells better on ps4, theyre fos on ps3 were a mess.

I didn't like the way they fit in "War. War never changes" the first time I heard it, because it sounded a little clunky and forced, but it's actually pretty clever and now I really like it.
When he says "War", it sounds like he's still in character as the announcer. "The soldiers were right... war". Switch to grizzled post-war narrator. "War never changes".

The whining about graphics in this thread is why devs always announce their games with boring CG trailers.

MGSV is aiming for 60 FPS on consoles? That's craaazy. KojiPro are super cray. But props to them and their engine. May the studio rest in peace.
You know, looking at these screenies and the Gamersyde trailer, the game actually looks pretty nice. I think we will be let down by character heads/faces again though....

Fallout did come before both of those....
Style is like an upgraded version of 3 and new Vegas' concept art and assets; maybe a bit softer due to more colorful locations giving it that Dishonored vibe. Rage was cribbing off Borderlands pretty hard, and I don't see that influence here at all really.

Too true. Though I would say it's usually just the very vocal minority. I think most of GAF will be actually playing the game and enjoying themselves when it is released. Compared to a few dozen that will bitch (end up buying it anyway) and play in 5 min intervals, taking screenshots inbetween and then jumping back on GAF and starting or replying to rage threads about "Fuck off Bethesda! Where are my GRAFFIX!!!???"

I thought it looked good too. I guess people were expecting more. I just want good performance. I'll most likely go PC on this but if the console versions run great I might get it on one of them.

If anything, it's the lack of geometry and lighting effect that's hurting the game's looks.

This game was in pre-production since 2008, and full production since 2011 - two years before current gen consoles went on sale and before they even officially existed. Fallout is a series expected to sell 10 million + copies these days. Chances are extremely high this started out as a cross-gen game but shifted to current gen only a year or so ago when Zenimax were convinced by PS4/Xbone adoption rates to ditch the larger install base of last gen.
That explains the lower-than-expected graphic quality. At least we'll easily be seeing 1080p and 30+fps on consoles, and PC gamers know not to worry about visuals in Bethesda Game Studios titles anyway =)

Yep. People would rather be lied to, apparently, and then get all indignant when the actual game releases.
Ridiculous. I think the game looks great given the hardware they have to work with.
