Tbh this is one of the first games I've seen approaching the AAAA status of Naughty Dog and Blizzard in terms of overall polish and production values.

If the movie is half decent this could be pretty massive, but the PS4 will need more games to appeal to the kids AND a pricecut by April if it's going to capitalise on the potential here. There's a Sly Cooper movie in the works for 2016 also.

If it plays all those cards write then you could see a major major boost for the PS4 (and therefore console gaming) coming out of this.

Cna't help but feel like this has been Cerny's plan for some time based on some of the things he said around launch and his decisions to focus himself on Knack; the only children orientated launch game for either the PS4 or the Bone IIRC.

Has it been confirmed there is a sly cooper too?

I'm blown away. The set-pieces, and the graphics in general are incredible. This game would be amazing to play as a 10-year-old.

It probably helps that I have never played a R&C game before, so this is all new to me.

Skeptical that the final game will look nearly as good. Insomniac did sub 720p all last generation while releasing screenshots that were obviously not direct frame grabs considering the final games.

Sunset Overdrive I believe is 900p, and looks great!

As previous poster mentioned there's 8 minutes of gameplay which looks like it's in almost Beta shape.

So there's that.

I don't see how what you described is literally just making something again, henceforth remake.

My definitions are like this
Remaster - GTA 5, TLOU Remastered (ups the visual standard an maybe adds some minor features)
Remake - OoT 3D, P4G (Adds significant content and/or remakes a lot of assets but still the same base game)
Reimagining - MGS: Twin Snakes, REmake (The same base story and gameplay, but otherwise a different way of experiencing the same game in an almost unrecognisably new way.)

They couldn't wait till E3? Heck, this announcement was timed on a damn forum and came out of nowhere. My faith in Ratchet & Clank just keeps fading with the little attention Sony gives it with each new release. The lack of supervision is probably why we got so many mediocre or "experimental" titles since 2009.

It's a reboot that retells the origin story by incorporating elements from the movie and other new things.

The gameplay looks fantastic! I remember some reviewer somewhere who described Ratchet & Clank as gaming comfort food. I can't think of a better analogy!
