Scalebound, Crackdown and Quantum Break at Gamescom

Whoa, whoa back it up.

Which one of the three is in trouble?!

Phantom Dust.

It's literally in a no man's land right now. The original developer was forced to go under because MS pulled development and we've heard absolutely nothing about the game since. E3 is the last chance, if it's not there, it's pretty much confirmed to be dead in my opinion.

Let us estimate:

Halo 5: 10 minutes
FM6: 5 minutes
Gears: 5 minutes
Garden Warfare 2: 5 minutes
Some Win 10 talk: 5 minutes
X1 Win10 features: 5 minutes
Rare new IP: 5 minutes
Rise of Tomb Raider: 10 minutes
The Division: 5 minutes
ID@Xbox: 5 minutes

Well, not too much time slot left for a 90-min conference

Their E3 conference better actually be amazing or this is going to turn out to be a really dumb move.

I realllly wanted to see Scalebound (gimme Dragons).

2. The only thing I don't like about it, is how they wrote this. "too much games" - it just leads up to disappointment in one way or another.

That comment is going to bite them in the ass imo, not because of there being too few games but because we know they're going to talk about windows 10 & whatever is in the June update (not win10 apparently). If they spend too much time on that, it'll end up leaving a bad impression on their E3 with comments like "lol scalebound/qb/crackdown got moved out of E3 for that?"

That's the one thing I was worried about once Phil said they were going to talk about it at E3. E3 is a games show, I don't need to see windows 10 or what's coming to xbox. Just show me the games and show the rest another time. Of course that's not a bad thing as long as it's short and to the point, but it'll end up getting a good 10 or so minutes at least.

They won't spend 10 minutes on any one game besides maybe Halo 5.

Plus Ken Lobb reboot section, either be Rare game or Battletoads or something else

Ken Lobb walks out in mech suit, kicks over a building, kicks some small cars
WWE fireworks
Blast Corps flashes on screen

Especially not gears. Maybe a 60-90 second gears4 teaser, with a 3-4 minute gears remaster trailer. 10 minutes is far too long for a remaster. Even then 3-4 minutes might be a bit long.

Microsoft changed the development team behind Phantom Dust.

I'll be very happy if we see some Windows games. Like a real Age of Empires 4.

Not really a suprise. Believe last year they did abit the same. E3 focus on games wich come out in 2015 and at Gamescom more focus on the 2016 games.

What if Rare is working on PD? Is that debunked?

They could be, but I think they'll have returned to something a bit more charming and cute like Banjo. I think MS has enough shooters but most people would welcome a new colourful platformer.

Phantom Dust won't be there though. If they've found another studio to take over development, they're still only going to have been making the game for a few months at most. And if they're that new to the project then MS isn't going to make them waste time getting an E3 demo ready. I suspect either MS will quietly cancel it or we'll see a re-reveal next year at E3.

Lol, hardly! Last year they showed Scalebound (2016), Phantom Dust (who knows?) and Crackdown (2017 I reckon), as well as trailers for Halo 5 (2015) and Rise of the Tomb Raider (2015).

I will flip my shit if they quietly cancel it. You don't mess with fans of PD like that, we've waited over a decade for a sequel and to have it snatched away because some ass in MS HQ decided he wanted to save a few bucks?

I'll lose it....

Me too, Phantom Dust has the potential to amazing. Will be super pissed if it doesn't get made, and on the right budget.

It wouldn't be cool, but it happens sometimes pal. Games get cancelled. MS's fault with this one was revealing it so soon.

Don't know how much time we'll see for Windows 10 at the Xbox conference. I expect them to maybe give a little tease and a "stay tuned" for the PC conference on Tuesday.

I thought this was a Microsoft conference though. Sort of like how Sony/Nintendo position all of their products under one conference. Windows 10 is next month. Seems like this stage is very important to get people to jump on board.

With this conference being televised they really are limited for time. I'd think it makes more sense to drop smaller announcements for PC on Monday and then do a bigger blowout on Tuesday. The PC conference gives them more time to properly show off PC content rather than trying to cram everything into Mondays show.

If Perfect Dark is going to be made it will probably be from another studio. Nathan Fillion model as Jonathan Dark for the lead character. They wrecked Joanna in PDZ.

I like Nathan Fillion as much as the next nerd but I do not think we need multiple xbox exclusives with his likeness running around shooting baddies.

Forza isn't getting 5 minutes. 3-4 at max. They'll probably just talk features. No actual racing.

Neither is gears or PVZ. Gears is a remaster which is 2 minutes just talking about features and beta followed by a teaser trailer. PVZ is a short MP segment

Tomb raider gets between 6-8. The division and witcher were both 5 minutes last year and that was a substantial amount

Also, I can't see division getting another gameplay segment. It'll be there but probably a trailer

Halo gets 8-10 just because they have to show the campaign plus the other Mp mode

Rare is 5 for everything

Forza might get a trailer AND a full lap demonstration of Rio.

I think it depends on whether TOD and Weather are dynamic, in which case they'd want to show things happening as you race. If they're both static, then probably just a trailer and a quick demonstration of how 3d Puddles work.

Don't worry, rumor has it that those games will be at Sony's conference instead. Phil has emphasized that he wants to focus on first party.

That doesn't necessarily mean its going to be 95% first party though. Even if its 50 minutes of 1st party and 40 minutes of third that'd still be considered a focus on first party.
