I haven't substantially changed my avatar once in the 2 years I've been on Gaf. I've only ever added little bits to it.





Also, is it just me or is Gaf acting crazy at the moment? Pages keep randomly crashing for me or not loading...

Cortana was destroyed at the end of Halo 4. She's gone for good. However she will be in Halo 5 in the form of some ghostly apparition/memory/voice inside Chief's head. This is what will drive him forward in the story. This doesn't mean Cortana is back though. Seems her appearance will be limited, sort of like early Halo 3 where she'd randomly interrupt Chief while she was still with the Gravemind.

I'm hyped for this new game type.

Would 64 player Halo actually work? Imagine a 64 player game of CTF on Halo, no one would ever get the flag because the TTK takes too long.

I have no idea what the new mode is, but it best be good!

I don't believe it. Cortana is the 2nd most important woman of my whole life, she can't be gone forever. I hope she is back by the end of Halo 5.

She's not gone for good. I have a feeling where they're going with it, and if that's the case, it's going to be really really cool to see.

Cortana will be a flesh and blood by the end of this, I predict.

I am guessing a reverse Composer exists someplace, and its location will be found at the Absolute Record.

This is all conjecture.... I just miss Cortana already :)

lol remember Halo 3? Those annoying cortana appearances. Didnt bug me the first time but playing it 2nd and 3rd time. omg, I wish there was a way to skip that.

I am expecting they have do something similar to include her.

Lets please not have another game of "save Cortana". She's a great character but it's time to move on and push the plot forward.

If the character had to come back at least make her a new Cortana cloned from Halsey like they mentioned in Halo 4. That could at least be interesting.

I could see them doing some sort of mode that includes AI fighting on both sides to give a large scale feel but no way will we see large scale in the sense of the Battlefield series.

It would be a cluster fuck.

I would like to see a game mode similar to Killzones Warzone, a longer match, changing objectives. That could be interesting if the maps are large enough.

the Composer i.e. turning biological life to digital and then back again?
If so we're on the same page.

I think the Elite appears to be a bit more intimidating in that pov rather than H4's models.

Surely 343 wouldn't build up the rampancy thing in Halo 4 and the Domain in the extended universe if it wasn't leading somewhere. It would be extremely lame to kill off Cortana for good. Almost as lame as portraying Dr. Halsey as some awful war criminal.

To have her transcend her current form, which was right on the edge of its expiration date anyway. She interfaced with several Forerunner systems and the Didact referred to her as an "evolved ancilla," apparently referencing other stuff in the lore including how Halsey designed Cortana to be special somehow, and possibly implying that the Librarian changed Cortana when she caused the Chief to "evolve." (Or did that happen later...?)

Even though some of this might be a reach, Cortana being a unique AI who's been altered by her experiences (entering the original Halo's systems, interfacing with the Gravemind, possibly meeting the Librarian) is a consistent if somewhat understated subplot throughout the series. It's totally possible that 343 will ignore all of this and play up the drama of her death. That would be heavy handed and exploitative though, and there are more interesting places they could take Cortana's story.

That's my best guess for now.
It could be she's part of the Domain now and she'll be reverse composed (or whatever) into a different form in Halo 6. I kind of want her to become some sort of transdimensional AI goddess, which isn't actually that crazy of a stretch based on some of the expanded universe material.
I just hope 343 doesn't make Cortana unrecognizable and ruin her character. I really don't know what to expect after all that Halsey business in the newer books and Spartan Ops.

One already exists in the canon, however the Librarian describes it as producing abominations.

Yep, this is what I'm hoping. If she was exactly the same as before it would be dumb, but bringing her back in a new form would be cool. SSJ4 Cortana in Halo 6 will be awesome.

What games have come out/will come out before fall (that we know of) are MUST BUYS that are exclusive to the XBO?

I'm seriously considering buying one, but I don't want to do it for just 1 or 2 games.
