If it exists and if was already in development when they made that announcement at PSX... then it'd be a masterstroke of PR.

- Pretend to announce a thing that people have been loudly clamouring for...
- Except have it not be that. Instead it's a port of a nearly 20 year old game.

If Sony still has publishing rights to the game it will be exclusive to PS4 but look at it this way....Sony still had those exclusive publishing rights 8 YEARS after the release of Final Fantasy VII when they published Final Fantasy VII Advent Children and Final Fantasy VII Dirge of Cerberus so why would they drop the publishing rights now just 7 years later when Square-Enix said more Final Fantasy VII games were coming as part of the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII project?
