Shoutout to everyone showing Zoids some love, one of the best shows from my childhood, hell I still rewatch Chaotic Century & New Century Zero sometimes now.

I don't know what is impressing me more, the fact that I managed to be the first post...or the gameplay demo. Has it been confirmed 100% running on ps4 hardware? No gimmicks? Launch eta?

How is Guerilla Games, located in The Netherlands, not a western studio?

Where does the west actually start? Both Cambridge and The Netherlands are east of the Greenwich Meridian.

I'm fuzzy headed after staying up all night for the Sony conference so I'm being picky

"Western" usually means Western Europe plus Canada, the US , Australia and New Zealand.

Guerrilla banking on the graphics as always.

I hope the departure from Killzone allows them to really improve the gameplay aspect (all the Killzones I played, sans 2, were kind of lacking). Also, please add a fucking health bar. I can't stand the generic red effect for low health anymore, but I guess that's my problem, and every game ever will continue to use it.

Cautiously optimistic!

I've now watched the HQ trailer from Gamersyde about 6 times and it is still blowing me away.

So far we've seen 5 creature types:

Spotters/watchers (the one that scans the bush
Grazers (greenbottles on back)
Radaraffes (the radar dish giraffe creatures)
Dinorex
Mecha-eagle (last one we see)

My guess is that the Mecha-eagle has a higher intelligence than the other bots.

GG is not a western studio.

Hysterical geography fail.

Zero Dawn is a stupid subtitle. Everything else seems really nice!

Zelda's art style is more beautiful though ;) And think of the music!

I don't think the name is stupid to be honest and hey, I found Horizon's art style a much, much more beautiful than Zelda's art style.

Holy fuckin shit that looked HOT. Looks better than I expected. This is what I wanted: something different from a visual standpoint and this really is something different. God damn. Game of the E3 for me so far from games that have shown actual gameplay.

And yeah, Zelda stylistically beatiful has nothing on this :)

Am I the only one who thought this game is maybe the biggest surprise of this E3? In terms how it looked, played?

i'm interested to find out what other types of stuff you get up to other than slaying robotic dinosaurs. would be nice if you get to craft some of those unique weapons.

Definitely not. I was blown away by it. I mean I was blown away by things like TLG or FF7:Remake but from games that were actually shown? This was the best looking so far and was a complete surprise to me how good it looks.

I'm with you, it was a fresh take, to actually go from a promising reveal trailer to even more awesome gameplay segment

This is how you get people excited for something

Nope, me too. I'm not emotionally invested on Shenmue/TLG/FFVII so for me this new IP was a real surprise. The only other game I'm this chuffed about is that Firewatch coming to PS4. Also loved UC4 obvs, but come on - we all knew that would rock worlds.

biggest surprise is when it shift straight to gameplay. I was sure this is just teaser announcement and the trailer stop when the camera pull back and get wider view of the environment. but no, we got lengthy boss battle gameplay demo. that was awesome.

I remember when the concept art leaked, a lot of people said this looked dumb conceptually, and I see there are people still saying it. It's probably one of the more creative and inspired settings we've seen in a while and definitely at this E3.

I don't understand how gamers can complain about how predictable the industry is and then when something crazy and fresh is thrown into the mix, say it looks dumb. Either way, I think that so far this is the best thing shown at E3, by a mile.

Really can't wait to see more, and the fact that there is potentially multiplayer/co-op? God help us.

It was a surprise. I expected Destiny like based on leaks and the main character being a dude again via GG/KZ's track record. Instead, we got female main character that isn't sexualized who has an awesome design to boot, third person perspective with really unobstructive HUD and pretty good animations. I also like that she reacts to things, reminding me of Nathan Drake.

My only question, is this game open world or mission based linear ala KZ games. Also, if they have MP matching this demo, that'd be great.

This is mind blowing and I'm sure this game will be great because always first impressions are best impression which is great for this game and looking at the people who are working on this game ( GG graphics magic, Witcher 3 talented staff and Fallout writer).

A hunting game, made by a Western studio on a AAA budget for consoles, featuring a female protagonist and robot dinosaurs.

Just... perfection.

Personally, this is my game of the show. Naughty had the best gameplay sequence and my money already for UC4, but what was here is new and I absolutely love these type of settings in a game. Looks absolutely bonkers.

GG are masters of design and technical wizards. It looks AWESOME.

And as a new IP it looks wonderful too.

pretty damn glad the protagonist isn't dressed skimpy at all.

she needs to shut up tho. this modern tomb raider "must speak every second" thing is already old.

The game might play well, although it seemed similar to Shadow of Mordor, except with robots, but, in terms of scenario I got serious Battlefield Earth vibes from the setting & character design.

I would say Germany is the edge of western Europe if we are dividing it in half. But "the West" is only vaguely based on locstion but more on politics, economics, and a dash of location.

Makes no sense at all. The whole EU is part of the west.

Why are we discussing something like this in the Horizon thread?

It says it right in the beginning running on PS4. This is Guerilla games we are talking about here.

Looked amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing the world fleshed out and if we can ride the Dino's. Any news about a date yet?

Game looks awesome. I loved the killzone series and their support for their games has always been stellar, so I have a lot of faith in this being a great game.

Also, holy shit the "not in the west" comments. Like maybe once you get to Turkey you can start calling something near East, but there is that huge tract of land you may have heard of called the middle East before you get to what has traditionally been called eastern nations. Holy smokes.
