Hitman Trailer (Sequel, PS4 has exclusive DLC, December 8, 2015)

47, currently looks like a character you'd create in your run of the mill character creator. Wish he looked more like Blood Money, or at least Absolution. Absolution had one thing going for it and that was how good 47 looked.

I've been waiting 10 years for this game, and it is exactly what I wished a new hitman game would be like. It's always about the first playthrough when you knew nothing about any of the levels that makes me hyped. I can't wait for non linear sandbox puzzles at the end of this year, and more throughout the year.

Has there been any actual on hands gameplay shown anywhere yet? I've been out for the last few hours.

Wait so has anyone confirmed this was a prequel i.e. took place before absolution?

Just the new face not sitting well with me. Absolution while not having the best Hitman gameplay had the best Agent 47 Face!

So basically IO gives us pretty much everything we've wanted out of a Hitman game yet we got pages worth of bitching about his face. Come on guys.

Haha. rarely has that gif been so accurate.

So happy we're going back to classic Hitman. Don't think I even want to see much footage, as I don't want to see how hits can play out, but discover it myself.

In the trailer before he throw the crowbar he looks like he is going into cover right before they cut to the other scene. Looks like level design based on chest high cover and containers to hide bodies is back. No thanks.

I don't get the hate for the look. His eybrows just aren't as crazy looking. He's always looked like a constipated dickhead. the kind of face you'd love to punch.

Really looking forward to this one. I was overly hyped for Absolution... but it was not The Hitman game I was looking for.

I will wait for the impressions on this one but so far it seems like they have gone back to their roots.

I'm fine with it. But like I said before, people who have a problem with it should voice their opinions. IO is listening and that's what this new game is all about, everyone is going to be providing feedback shaping the game into the best Hitman game it can be.

I'm not a fan of his face either, but David Bateson's returning, and IO is going back to the roots of Hitman - so I'm not complaining.

Also, for those who wonder, this takes place after Absolution, but that game isn't connected to this one in any meaningful way.

The same "bitching" is what brought Bateson back as voice actor. Not everything has to be praise, usually when I'm interested in a game I point out stuff that bothers me.

Lets be honest, nobody EVER complained about his face or model. People want the character to stay the same, not get updated without any reason at all.

Forget his face... where the hell are his gloves!?

How can I pre-order this if he has no gloves!?!?!?

*inhale. count to four...*

So like is this a digital title or not? The way thet talk about it seems like you'll pay for a couple of missions initially then get more through Dlc, bit then they're doing the whole Pre-Order now business so I'm not too sure.

It's a full game, but the campaign releases episodically

Content should be the main point of worry here, not how the character looks like. It should be 3 years since the last game and since IO have nothing else to work on, I assume there should be quite a fair chunk to get through.

Although I've never been that huge on episodic content anyway, in this scenario however it could work. As long as the contracts are diverse and different from one another, we should have a solid entry in the series.

So basically contracts mode is given via the first episodic release, right? But considering the fact that in Absolution, Contracts mode had the campaign levels to create our own contracts, should we expect a much lesser amount of levels to create in from the get go? I would assume so.

I'm not sure I like the direction the devs went with, but then again, I'll be pre-ordering the game nonetheless. That Beta is something I want to be part of for sure.

It's clearly a younger 47 not only from the face, but the fact he was running in the trailer makes me think he's younger and staying in shape.

That's actually true, but also an invalid point, as 47 was genetically engineered to look as generic as possible. Basically really non-descript facially, and he's also younger here so far less wrinkles and defined lines.

The fact that he's so iconic and sports a blatantly bald head kind of negates that though.

this sounds gud but why the hell are they being so goddamn obfuscating on what am i getting if i drop 60 quid on december 8th

am i buying a fucking season pass or a normal game

PS Store has the preorder for 49.99€,
Is the game cheaper than the habitual?

Yes it's only £39.99 on the UK PSN Store which is way cheaper than pretty much every new game on there. Batman preorder is £54.99, even the Uncharted Collection is £49.99. Witcher 3 is 49.99. Dragonball Z is 54.99.

Makes me a bit suspicious about exactly how much base game we're going to get here. I doubt Square-Enix have set the price so low out of the goodness of their hearts.

And that he has a barcode tattooed on his head!

I think the absurdity of it all: his looks, the crazy villains, the over the top locations, is an important feature of the series. It separates the game far enough from reality that you don't get too concerned about the awfulness of all the killing.

Well, it is episodic.

Well, it is episodic.

It is a full retail game. It is priced as one for the US, but they are experimenting with his game's release and have assured it is the full HITMAN release they were planning on, but with an inventive style of distributing the campaign. You are paying for a full HITMAN game as before, you will just go through it at a different pace based on the release schedule over several months.

So basically contracts mode is given via the first episodic release, right? But considering the fact that in Absolution, Contracts mode had the campaign levels to create our own contracts, should we expect a much lesser amount of levels to create in from the get go? I would assume so.

As I understand, the first level introduces a story mission and the location also hosts contracts in that same space for after the mission that are not part of the central campaign. So yes, each level will both be the mission location and also a place for all sorts of Contracts to be played. By the time all of the campaign locations are released over several months to those who paid, it will be a large game to work with for contracts as usual for a retail HITMAN. But on Dec 8, you'll only have the first mission location.

It's a normal game, released episodically. Not that confusing. The Walking Dead games sell you their full game even though it will release over several months. Think that same release model, but instead of Walking Dead episodes, you get the campaign levels for what will end up the size of a full campaign in a full retail game.
