Games look really cool, I was going to include it in my Amazon preorder but it come up with a 2017 release day. What is the release date for this game?

It makes me happy to see that after all the bitching people do about how the industry just makes sequels/remakes/rehashes because all gamers ask for are sequels/remakes/rehashes of the same games that they've been playing their whole lives, the game that gets all the "BEST OF E3" awards is an original IP.

Game looks good. Premise is interesting.

The big thing is how repetitive hunting the dinos will feel.

I mean, it looked pretty hard taking down a Dino. Also like the animation was unique as was the behavior of the Dino's. I guess im making a lot of assumptions. You are right, I hope combat isn't repetitive.

I have one real fear about this game. I hope they don't ignore the fact that the dinos are supposed to be at the top of the food chain.

It looked terrible how the girl was able to hunt gigantic robo dinos like it was a walk in the park. It should mimic real human history and we should only be able to tackle the bigger ones if we have traps, nets and a numbers advantage.

She looked like she was no1 on the foodchain there.
Something to keep in mind: the big dino she was fighting had already been weakened by fighting with another tribe. You can see some spears sticking in it when it first appears. They apparently talked about this in the closed door presentation to the media.

and that has only half of his HP cause of a previous fight with another tribe :p

Oh yeah she was level 12 in the demo so I cnat imagine how hard it is when you frist start to take down TJ.

Also:
Thunderjaw is 80 feet long, 33 feet wide, and sports 271 animations as well as 550,000 polygons. This beast probably isn’t daunting just to Aloy, but to its designers as well. Thunderjaw is also used to show off the game’s emphasis on what Norris called tactical and strategic action combat.

The combat actually sounds really great. For those who didn't know, Thundermaul, the robo t-rex in the demo, had over 90 armor parts, each with their own Hit Points. If you manage to broke the outer armor and show the less protected part within, you deal three times the damage in that spot. Explosive arrow are also rare, so don't expect to spam explosive arrow at huge robodino. Instead you had to play smart. Focus your attack to 1 part to peel off the armor and then use the explosive arrow for massive damage.

Thundermaul also supposedly have like 15 different attacks.
Im sure they made it weak for demo purpose but imagine the length itd take to take it down

Was multiplayer ever mentioned?

This seems like the type of game you'd want to play with friend.

There will be no multiplayer.

Although GG did add co-op to KZ:SF at a later date, so I guess it isn't unthinkable they might add it later on. I wouldn't bet on it however.

Uh, I hate to break it to you, but there was no point in human history where we hunted dinos.

<_____>

Well there's no written history regarding if humans ever hunted dinosaurs nor how if they did. I mean...Dinosaurs in the end are animals. People can hunt bears, rhinos, elephants which maybe aren't as big as a Trex, but they're just as deadly.

Uh, I hate to break it to you, but there was no point in human history where we hunted dinos.

Yeah, I know...

We did hunt other big game, and we did that using teamwork and tools, not how she did it in the video.

Even if the Dinos where injured before the fight it looks dumb.

I really like the concept, I hope they nail the world building and doesn't become dumb.

She's not using wooden arrows and rocks.

I don't see how this game is like Monster Hunter beyond some very superficial aspects (which can be applied to many games). Even playing bow in MH is largely different (nevermind the inclusion of something like slow-mo).

As long as they create weapons in organic and believable ways, rather than "You combined 4x Branch and 8x Green Gel to craft Decadent Staff of Ezrezikikillio!"
Now now. I'll hear no shit-talking of the Staff of Ezrezikikillio. Best staff of the game, perfectly balanced!

Uh, I hate to break it to you, but there was no point in human history where we hunted dinos.
lol
I guess we hunted mammoths, but --
She's not using wooden arrows and rocks.
Yeah. This.

I wonder if you start as the demo, like a cave-girl, and by the end of it you can be with a high tech set of armours that you made by gathering materials and killing enemies. It would be interesting!

This sounds good.

I swear if another game gives me a scene to teach me how to use the run button I'll freak.

And yes, I'm look at you, Witcher.

The best part of the demo was the very animated-2d flash lines of the search bots.

This looked super stylish.

I was a bit concerned when we got 'white people in native dress' opening, to be honest. I'm sure that'll turn into a thing.

It is 1,000 years into the future when civilizations fell. White people suddenly stop pro-creating?

If you are expecting realism in a game that has ROBOT dinos then you have come to the wrong place.

It is no more stupid than any other science fiction or magic base world.

Sounds like you're a dino hunting expert. Jk

I'm sure that the game will convey a sense of danger and epicness that is proper for going up against robdinos.

Summer 2016 is the best release day for new IP. If they dont want to send it to die, avoid Holiday

If Uncharted 4 truly is a February or March title, I wouldn't be surprised to see this being released on May or June. It does make me wonder if that means Gran Turismo 7 and The Last Guardian will be the only ones gearing up for Fall 2016 or that also mean God of War will be leaving its comfortable Spring release window for a Fall release.

Then again looking at this Fall, Sony appears to have no problem having nothing from their first party studios for a holiday season now that they are dominating. Sure we have a lot of smaller games from their 2nd party partners and many PS4/PC titles, but you know what I mean.

I do hope Horizon comes out before next E3 though. I would be absolutely ecstatic.

Best wishes.

Yeah so that's not what I'm saying, and I'm not looking for a boring fight about it - I'm saying it's -obviously- going to be an issue, and it stood out to me as something that could be easily resolved if we know more about the game. If you have a game come out in 2016 where white people wear feathered headdress - and there's no other races around in the promo material, the way social media is these days, we all know how it's going to play out.

Please don't take this as some kind of investment in the fictional qualities of the game because I'm just talking about the qualities of social media and culture in which the game is coming out. We barely know anything about the game which is precisely when this stuff goes down and stupid statements are made.

yeah, I know what you mean but i think Sony only release popular IP in Holiday so it won't be shadowed by 3rd party games. GoW4, Gran Turismo is only 2 games i see that have enough mind share to impress casual.

they remind me of the Wildlings in Game of Thrones

There are other PS4 exclusives for this fall that just weren't hyped at E3, like Dragon Quest Heroes and Tales of Vesperia.

Also, there's tons of great third party stuff this year that will satiate just about any consumer looking to pick up a box. CoD, MGS5, Fallout 4, Star Wars, Madden, etc. It's not like anyone will be hurting for games

That's what I'm guessing happens. I bet by the end you look like an tribal armoured future soldier lol.

I get what you are saying, but I would not worry too much about that. Ignore and move on. Let them mouthbreathers have their moments if they even do.
