Quoting for new page, I'm still looking for information. I know games that used to tear have V-sync now, which lowers framerate, but I'm hoping for player impressions.

No.

the issues with ME1 are still there. The only games that have been updated are the Rare 360 games and that's due to the Rare Replay collection coming out.

I can't see how they can get around the framerate issue while using vsync or however the wrapper works to give the same result, they would have to overclock the 360 runtime in hope that it helps... I wonder if that's a possible thing for some games.

Some console games are coded to the clock speed of the console since it never really changes, so instead of gaining fps it may play in fast forward instead.

What's with the asterisks? Does that mean I need the disc?

Installing GoW right now. Interested to see how it plays.

I'm half-hoping for an announcement that we'll either see it being backwards compatible and released in preview today, or they'll release it as an add-on for the MCC in september.

It would be fantastic for them to bring it onto TMCC, so that it's just one big Halo hub. That's the height of my dream, but I would be very happy if they just brought it over to BC.

Reach was awesome and I'd hate to see it get left behind on the 360.

It's definitely gonna get BC, it was front and centre on the banner when they announced it.

Wouldn't mind seeing it in 60fps/1080p, though.

I've launched Gears 1 and wanted to continue from my last checkpoint. No checkpoint available to start from. Selected cloud as a storage device and tried again. Works.
For anyone experiencing this, I hope the info helps.

Certainly it's possible that they will continue to make improvements as they lead up to release but the fact that the emulator/wrapper is built-in to the X1 version of the games and that I have never gotten any kind of update for the ones I've already downloaded (the Rare ones were just because of Replay) makes me suspect that it's working about as fast as it can. While the emulation is good enough to get the job done, I wonder how many people will totally write off the feature because it's not perfect. In other words, if they feel like they have to keep their 360 anyway due to the lower framerate or hitching in sections of some titles, they will declare X1 BC as "pointless".

Personally, while I appreciate the X1 BC feature and will use it, I will probably keep a 360 around anyway due to my huge library that includes games that will probably never get a BC release due to licensing issues. I'm glad they are doing this. It's convenient and may be an incentive for the casuals, but it really needed to be a homerun for it to impress the hardcore crowd and if these framerate issues persist some people will just focus on the problems and discount the feature entirely.

so the official list of actual released and announced games so far is the following:

So don't expect any CoD? Activision was not listed as a supported publisher today.

Yep I think Activision is out. Not at all surprising since Activision are cunts but fuck sake, if they are pulling this shit then I don't know if I want to support it by buying their games.

You're still missing Worms

They remastered Prototype without telling anybody.

There is every chance of COD getting remastered especially as they would sell very well.

CoD is a selling franchise. Prototype was a shoddy port and nobody asked for it.

CoD is not happening. Ghosts 2 is happening and AW2. But no remasters.

Slightly off-topic but has Microsoft commented on backwards compatibility for the original Xbox? I know Grabbed by the Ghoulies is playable on the Xbox One through Rare Replay but was wondering if they'd be continue putting their Xbox Originals up on the store. It'd be neat to have a complete (pending licenses of course) Xbox library being backwards compatible going forward.

Blinx, Conker, Forza, Jet Set Radio Future, MechAssault, Ninja Gaiden, Panzer Dragoon and PGR to name a few.

AFAIK, they haven't commented, but them going through the trouble of getting Grabbed to run natively rather than doing BC says to me that they're in no great hurry to put OG Xbox emulation together. Apparently, their contract with NVidia makes it a real hassle.

This would be super great especially since I have the disc for them.

Aside from that, I swore there was a list that came out with some of the titles expected to show up in November.

Im pretty sure it had GRAW 1 + 2, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Fallout 3 and NV on there as some of the games.

Also the announcement at E3 showed games like Rayman Origins, Assassins Creed

Does anybody have that list?

Playing more gears 1 today, performance is 90% there it just has cases of stutter and the odd pause to load in an area sometimes, I know the game originally had loading pauses when played from a HDD so that might be the reason for it, gears 2 used to freeze at every checkpoint when played from the HDD on 360, so.

Whilst it'd be really cool to get original Xbox games running too, the 360 emulation of those was a mixed bag at best. I can't imagine sticking an extra layer of emulation on top would do them any favours.

I really want fallout.

Any ideas how far MS will go with this? I feel like it will end up being something they drop out of after a year or so. This doesn't seem like it's going to make much money for them.

Fallout 3 BC? Yeah, it's coming this November when Fallout 4 is released.

Some people consider BC to be a selling feature. If it sells Xbox Ones, then it will make money for them.

So what's the consensus on DLC and GOTY editions? Will any of this work with BC?

Don't want to search the whole thread if this has been discussed.
