I'm totally sold on the req system! At this point it seems like it's exactly what I was hoping for so needless to say I'm real pumped go try it out!

My only concern is legendary weapons and cosmetically-different vehicles being one-time-use stuff. Idk if that's a thing, but getting my neato tank blown up and being unable to use it again until fortune smiles upon me a second time would stink.

Regardless, it's really cool!

Those stuff would be deemed to be permanent unlocks.

Nick Offerman narrating the video was the best thing about it. Holy shit that was good ahah.
It's cool that they're using Mister Chief like that.

I literally lol'd at 5:15 in the video.

Soldier with nasally voice: "But sir, won't these req packs ruin balance in arena multiplayer"

Mister Chief: "SECURE YOUR NOSE HOLE SOLDIER, GROWN UPS ARE TALKING"

And then later Mister Chief says: "Req points will be given generously, but in case you have the patience of a drunken chihuahua, you'll be given the option to purchase req packs".

I'm dying here. I hope for 343's sake that req points are truly given like candy.

I am interested in the pricing. I want to support the Halo eSport scene and so I thought I will buy a specific amount of REQ packages each month.

Are those mythic legendary weapons limited to Warzone? Prophet's Bane is available in Arena, but will Linda's sniper or Kelly's shotgun as well?

This is a WELL THOUGHT OUT system. It allows for 343 to have a money sink of sorts to offset costs of free maps and whatnot, but it also makes playing the actual game have a trading card game factor to it -- I think cosmetic items could potentially be huge.
I wish it has a trade or gift system.

Yeahh..... NOW SHOW FORGE ALREADY PLEASE
The press was shown new Halo 5 content this week. We can expect previews next week.

Actually Frankie has a level 7 REQ that only he can use.

Dongblainer - Forged from the depths of HaloGAF, hardened against the likes of EazyB, Juices and KyleJ, this Mythic Assault Rifle has slain many nerds.
Those references.

Why does Helljumper have to me a legendary item :'(

Liking everything about the system, except for the armor mods. Would have preferred if they left that behind in Halo 4. Although I have to say, if they were going to be in any gametype, they'd be the least obnoxious in Warzone.

They are completely different though. Things like carrying more grenades, small sprint speed increase, etc. On top of that, they are obtained later in the game with the points.

100% sure friend. Everything requires energy. Permanent just means when you open up your REQ station and see your energy use options/items it will always be an option once you obtain the card once. Non permanent means you need that card to use it each time as they are essentially burned when you use it.

So after watching a lot of videos that's not actually true...everyone seems to have to start with a pistol and assault rifle...if I have watched correctly the battle rifle isn't usable until req level 2 or 3 (can't remember which) and then you can switch out on of those guns ro permanently have it...the non power weapons like these do not require energy...they are just gated to req level

That video was perfect. Seriously excited for this. Splitting the multiplayer into Arena and Warzone sides is really going to pay off I think.

I like the system, never had a problem with it when it first got announced.
It feels like a combination of hearthstone and titanfall, yes you can buy packs with real money but there's no guarantee that you'll get any decent cards.

No ranking in warzone? For real? Why? Seriously curious to know the reason behind this. It sounds bizarre.

Because it's like the social zone of past Halos. You go into it with less stress just looking for a good time.

If Arena BTB gets ranking, that'd be stellar.

huh? the key to have fun is first have a balance in game. I can not imagine having good time when your team is just getting owned throughout the match.

There'll still be skill matching. There just won't be a visible rank.

That's how social playlists have always worked.

Were the Halo MCC unlocks only for the Halo 5 Beta or also for the full game?

Oh and one of the stances should be the Tashi Ceiling. I would pay 3$ for it.

It's still using a hidden MMR system. If it works, then you should be fine. Honestly, they should bring back TrueSkill across all games. MCC is terrible in that regard, because you will either play with people that never played the game or it's a Level 50 MLG game. Sometimes, I get matches where I feel like I'm competing for 1 Million US$... There's no middle ground, which sucks.

Hope Halo 5 will have playlists, where I can just have relaxing matches.

It's just great to see 343 take the criticism of Halo 4 to heart and find real answers to all of the problems, while still keeping some of the stuff around that modern gamers enjoy, but really don't belong in the 4v4 Halo. Plus it serves a purpose of funding free maps and a prize pool for HCS, everyone wins really.

Looking forward to Warzone I think.
Don't think I'll be spending much money though, I'm so shit it would be like throwing money to the wind.
And I do much prefer this method of micro-transactions to selling map packs.

isnt there still an overall XP system ala call of duty? spartan rank?

and i believe they said there is still background MMR stuff happening for warzone to give you good matches, its just not front and center like arena.

Yes, I think it goes up to at least 152. That's the highest level they showed I think.

They have put ALOT of thought into this system.

Agreed. If you are going to introduce packs and such to buy on the side in addition to earning them, this is about the best way I have seen to go about it without being completely insulting.

EDIT: At least it sounds good, I should say. But we shall see.

i remember halo 4 was....120? Maybe?

50 levels and then 7 specializations 10 levels each? I actually liked that. I think its kinda cool you get a few different ways to rank yourself in comparison to other players.

i think the req system could work really well as long as it has a ton of content and they continue to add a ton of content.

This actually looks like a great system.

I'd love to know how many armor sets can be acquired through the cards at launch. Franklin pls respond.

So I watched this again and read everything over again... this is going to be such an addiction to collect them all :(

I HATE YOU STINKLES

Fallen Xbot (cannot continue gaining levels in this class)
Th mako helmet makes me wonder if there will be a lot of variations on helmets using paint or even carving ala emile's skull helmet in reach. I just hope that there is TONS of armor. I don't care much for weapon skins and other req unlocks. Post fight animations could be fun though. Wonder if that will be possible.

We actually got some of that already in the beta. There was this Rookie helmet with a flame stencil on it, IIRC.
