"Nintendo Account" (Nintendo's account system) announced. Cloud based saves

"Game data" doesn't quite imply "game saves", but their mobile and Console games will likely have their data work together in some fashion.

Don't act like you didn't know what he meant.

I knew exactly what he meant. Lots of people are misinformed when it comes to how Nintendo's account system works. It's not how it used to be during the Wii era (though it still has some major issues, which I already addressed).

Please let Hyrule Warriors on WiiU and 3DS use this! :p

Oh my, I hadn't even considered this. Yes yes yes. Please let this be the first game. That would make perfect sense (and would allow me to grind on the go).

That's not what you said though.

The problem with Nintendo's current setup is that you can only have one system active at a time per account and you have to contact Nintendo directly if you forget to transfer your ID before getting rid of a console.

It is assumed their new system will be more streamlined and user friendly.

That's what I meant, my bad.

Yeah, I had to call Nintendo before to get all my games back. I lost one of them, though, cause it's no longer on the eShop. I got it for free though.

Finally. So this means accounts and games won't be tied to a single machine and you won't have to call up Nintendo with a police report anymore, right?

well, i mean console-death proof backups since, as far as i know, if your console dies, your saves die with it even if they were on an external storage device.

same with digital 3DS games.

So I guess we know the same. unfortunately. That's why I avoid buying 3DS digital games :p.

just.. saves?

like.. still not letting me have my 3DS purchases tied to an online account so I can actually take my 3DS outside and leave my fear of it being stolen and losing my games?

still not?

And if you don't have the serial, then expect to get grilled

What? That's the first thing I thought of when he asked that question.

I can't access the link for some reason. Can we download any game we bought that were attached to our accounts since the Wii U or 3DS now? Or we still have to go through the hassle?

Congrats Nintendo

You only had to fight it for years. Try not to kick and scream too much on the party system and voice chat options next.

They'll apparently still transfer your account without it.

Not that it isn't a ridiculous process.

They will, but last time the guy made me list off what games I owned. I did 4, all were right. But there was one I couldn't remember so he said since I didn't have a huge purchase history, he wasn't going to be able to do it. Thankfully, I guessed Pikmin (forgot that I got it free). I had verified the card used to purchase the games as well. I was pretty annoyed to say the least, took me a few to remember.

"New point program for purchasing/playing console/mobile games can be used on DLC, original goods, and game coupons."
