Black Ops 3 pre-orders are significantly higher than Advanced Warfare

I keep on saying something along the lines of this in different topics, but I hope the actual gameplay and campaign turn out good (I shut the beta off after the first three matches being lagtastic and deciding on just waiting till the final game was out). I kind of want this to do well just because there are so many local multiplayer options.

So other AAA folks would properly consider offering those options again.

I remember hating the CoD4 beta and then buying the game on impulse. Didn't really like Blops 3 beta, but if patterns hold, BO3 will be awesome!

So i just went to GameStop and pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe version for PS4... how to i pre-load... i'm not seeing a code on the receipt... do i have to go pick something up there physically?! WTF did i just pay for lol

Ok... so in case anyone was thinking of doing the same thing...

Called GameStop and they said that digital pre-orders must be picked up on release night/day as a physical code and you CANNOT pre-load ahead of time.

Going back to return tomorrow.

Lol why would they even shoot themselves in the foot like that, totally pointless.

Exactly... i had some credit i wanted to use so i mistakenly thought, "oh, it will be a code like they do for DLC or bonus content with a PSN code and i'll start the preload when i get off work tonight"... nope. Why would anyone go to a physical store location for a preorder that you must pick up physically on launch night/day!? lol Waste of my lunch break.

Everything changed when Black Ops was better than MW2 even after the massive MW2 hype.

What?! MW2 was one of my all-time favorite multiplayer experiences. Everything was so OP and crazy. Still play it every now and then.

I still think AW had one of the best CoD SP's to date.... That being said I do think Black Ops 2 was better and I have no doubt that Black Ops 3 will be good.

Hoping for 50k peak on PC, doubt it'll happen but one can dream.

Black Ops 2: 70,000
Ghosts: 36,000
Advanced Warfare: 35,000

Ghosts and Advanced Warfare did so much damage, I hope Black Ops 3 can rebuild the PC community.

I have a somewhat irrational hatred for MW2, particularly since it was the sequel to a game I consider perfection.

Jumped out of the franchise after mw2 and this is the first game that is actually tempting me back in. The zombie stuff just looks so good. If the campaign turns out to be great, they will prob be getting 60 dollars out of me.

Even though cod4 was close to perfection it still had bullshit like fragx3, Juggernaut, martydom and Last Stand. Grenades in general were just so OP. Even with the bullshit in MW2, I still have very fond memories of that game.

If by MW2 you mean MW3 and by Black Ops you mean Black Ops 2, then yes. MW2 was a flawed title, but there was still more weapon variety BO1. BO1 was a boring AR/SMG fest with decent maps.

Advance warfare was a bad game ? i loved it

I can appreciate them trying something new but they executed it really bad IMO. Exo movements were too fast and made things chaotic. That was my biggest problem with the game. The first COD that I truly hated.

Ghosts was OK. Better than AW but didn't really add anything special.

The beta for this really impressed me. The game still felt like a Black Ops game. Sure, you still have "Exo movements" but they toned it down. You can get around the map a little quicker but nothing to the extent of AW.

I'm just hoping there are many hardcore modes, as well as ricochet!

Ghosts was the worst also on PS4 never in my life did i hate a CoD like that one.

AW did somethings good campaign was fun because spacey and in MP sure the exosuits where a nice addition seeing more speed and jumping makes it different because verticality but when i think about it sometimes it was such a mess. Also those damn boxes with different weapons just sucked so much to be honest.

Black ops 1/2 i played the most on PC. Getting it first on PS4 but next month i will get it on PC also since Treyarch did great work on the PC version they have at least in there studio a dedicated pc team unlike IW and Sledgehammer.

Agreed with everything said here

The beta definitely convinced me, the game was simply put - fun

Very excited that most of the community feels the same. I think we were all hungry for a good cod game after Ghosts and AW

Yup... exactly. I had no intentions of buying it and figured i'll try the Beta b/c it's free... check out the shit show.

And i loved the hell out of it! Perfect balance of new-movement and the grounded norm... great 3 channel maps... solid weapons that all felt different.... very cool "hero" characters with specials and weapons that actually felt like they werent overpowered or "cheap". And just good fun.

The beta was great, I played it on PS4 and PC and it totally sold me on the game. Unlike AW the movement doesn't detract not ruin the core gameplay, it compliments it.

Preordered, canceled and re-preordered after finding out game has different game modes.

Only COD I loved was COD4 MW. If it can come close to that, I'll be happy. Tried a few after MW and did not like them one bit.

Was going to skip it after buying halo, fallout and battlefront, but I got some tesco clubcard points and the games are in the double up, so I paid a grand total of £3,
I can not pass that kind of offer up.

back in black baby, I can finally put bo2 down

So it either comes down to spending $40 with no possibility of refund because it's gotten from GMG, or go full $60 from Steam with the ability to do a refund... hmmm....

Not suprised, people love Treyarch, Black Ops and Zombies.

I really liked AW, thought it had some of the best non Treyarch maps the series has seen since MW2.

But Activision is going to have to do something since it's a 3 year dev cycle now. People aren't going to want to keep waiting 3 years for a great COD game and the two years in between can really hurt a series if they're garbage.

Yeah. I like Black Ops well enough, but I was definitely a little disappointed when I picked it up following MW2. My biggest gripe with both it and Modern Warfare 3 are that they toned down the crazy from MW2 a little too much. Went overboard in nerfing things that people complained about, and took half the fun with it (though Black Ops had enough of its own flavor to still be good).

For me, everything changed when Black Ops II turned out better than Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops. In my opinion, of course. And for me, it stands nearly neck and neck with Modern Warfare 2. They've both got their pluses and minuses, but MW2's balls to the wall experimentation wins the day for me. That game introduced more staples to the series than people give it credit for.

Seriously, when is a Call of Duty going to let me dual-wield full blown SMGs and Shotguns again?

Not suprised, people love Treyarch, Black Ops and Zombies.

I'm not hyped for it, but next year's Call of Duty is almost a more interesting idea than Black Ops III at the moment. If only because it's still shrouded in mystique. There's no doubt that InfinityWard will have a very high bar to meet, and expectations are going to be low after Ghosts. However, they did only have two years to crank out Ghosts. I'm hopeful that they've taken the criticism to heart. And I'm also hopeful that they don't do a friggin' futuristic or near future game. I guess Ghosts, despite being set in the near future, is close enough to Modern Warfare to kinda fill that same void (and they did end the bland campaign with a cliffhanger), but they've really gotta turn it into something special.

I think if they know the company they like will keep making good games (or the good ones of the series), people can wait the 3 years.
