Wow they've stated that half of the install base subscribes? That's pretty damn good.
I don't think SF is higher profile than The Order, which was hyped to the moon and back. Sure, there are big games coming out in 2016, but 2015 has been great as well:

Or perhaps this is more saying (most discussed): http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/score/metascore/discussed/ps4/filtered?sort=desc
The upcoming games will get hyped, but it's sometime easy to forget that 2015 was actually a fantastic year for a lot of gamers.
Success is great but I doubt we will walk away from the PS4 saying it had a library [of original games] that comes close to the PS2.
After US, Canada and the UK probably the biggest region for Xbox is Mexico. Microsoft knew how to cater towards us since the OG Xbox by showing they gave a crap from the start.Xbox One.
US is only region, leveraging strong brand image from last gen with (thus far) very aggressive deals, bundling etc, where MS is taking a decent slice of market and getting decent split of big multi-platform title sales.
Next best is probably Mexico going by what I've read.
Tehn there's UK but sales split show more PS4 owners buying multiplatform games than Xbox.
After those two PS4 is dominant pretty much everywhere else.
So long as MA can hang on to decent US sales PS4 will look weaker there than ROW.
Of course SFV is more hype than The Order .
One is a new IP that could not even sell 1 million WW .
SFV is going to be the fighting game the pushes the tournaments for the next few years .
With it selling around 4 million last gen .
I don't agree. I might be wrong, but in my mind Street Fighter is sorta like Sonic, Turtles and other things from our childhood. SFV will outsell The Order, but that doesn't take much..
My point was that The Order was stupendously hyped before launch and was considered, if memory serves, to be one of the system sellers of the PS4. That didn't happen, but the expectations were enormous, which is why I think it was a high profile game.

After two decades of mediocre efforts from Nintendo and still absolutely nothing official from Sony until around 2010, MS grabbed this market by the balls with aggressive marketing and embracing every corner of the map with official presence. By the time Sony reacted midway through the PS3 Mexico was Xbox 360 territory hardcore. Gears and Halo here are colossal. Back when Halo 5 launched I saw ads from newspapers, to tv, and even bus stops. They are relentless.
Oh and never to underestimate the power of dubbing games to spanish (latin american spanish, not hand me down Spaniard spanish we loathe so much here) Microsoft started dubbing their games since Halo 2 in 2004. Sony didn't dub their first game for this market until Killzone 3 in 2011.
Not that I care, I play all my games in english and a few in japanese but for many its important.
Microsoft owns Mexico because they earned it while Sony took forever to give a damn but they've gotten better.

This. I'm happy with my PS4 and all and super happy it's doing well, but as a PC gamer as well as an XB1 owner who's a huge fan of their first-party output thus far, I'm struggling to understand how the PS4 is doing so well, especially considering the only thing it has going for it (for me) is Destiny and Bloodborne.Success is great but I doubt we will walk away from the PS4 saying it had a library [of original games] that comes close to the PS2.
HAH! What? Where the hell were you prior to release. That game was shit in constantly for months. You couldn't have a single thread about it without it turning into a hate fest. What the hell planet were you on?
If we disregard the usual hyperbole and angry language from you, there was a lot of hype for The Order, especially because of the way it looked, even here on Neogaf. Might not have been the most hyped game, but nonetheless.

Congrats! Really amazing figures with so few AAA 1st party games out, shows how important multiplats are, it basically got these figures from being the best at multiplats.
There are currently 822 games on this list (56 of which have been confirmed as free-to-play)
Exclusive = 91
Sony exclusive = 98
Console exclusive = 170
Timed = 21
Multiplatform = 442
Total = 822

Damn. That's great. So it's surpassing the Ps2 in sales within a timeframe. Last I heard Ps2 lifetime sales was 150 million. Will Ps4 achieve that? Who knows but initial numbers are good.

I am amazed it sells so well, considering that Sony isn't doing anything. Their first party output for the console is frankly embarrassing.
Which makes these sales kind of worrying. Sony doesn't even need to try, and I fear they will become complacent.
Disregarding your thinly veiled comments of passive-aggressivness in every thread I see you in, you're changing the narrative. X)What are you even doing here? It's obvious nothing Sony does will ever be good in your eyes after this E3.

Oh, there we go. The "Sony is getting arrogant" and "PS4 has no games" comments in one post. Where is our bingo sheet again?I am amazed it sells so well, considering that Sony isn't doing anything. Their first party output for the console is frankly embarrassing.

Keep in mind the true strength of the PS2 was the back end.It took PS2 26 months to hit 30 million. PS4 did it in 24 months.
You are completely disregarding the massive hate train that started the second the revealed gameplay and continued until release. This was shortly after the initial reveal. You are basically referencing the only period of time in which the community did not loathe the game with the burning fire if a thousand suns. Go look at any of the threads referencing the order in the 6 months leading up to its release and then we'll talk.
We still have that bet going on, right?
There's probably another 120 million PS4s out there. 4 out of 5 of my friends bought their PS4s digitally.
No I didn't gave out any. Trust me when I tell you Xbox was bigger than PlayStation in Mexico during the PS360 days. It wasn't even a contest. Not unlike in the US during that timeframe. I did read these numbers somewhere but latinamerican sales data are always harder to come by than Americans data so you'll have to take my word for it.I may have missed a post, but did we get actual sales numbers that show the Xbox brand is bigger in Mexico than the PlayStation brand?
Oh, there we go. The "Sony is getting arrogant" and "PS4 has no games" comments in one post. Where is our bingo sheet again?
Even if I do lose the bet, the PS4 may still have a chance of reaching 36 million sold through worldwide. I don't know, almost feels as if the US is really contributing a third of the PS4's sales now and seems like it's going even lower. Anyway, nice to know you still remember the bet!PS4 to sell over 2.53 million in the US in Nov+Dec... Yup, i'm here.
I think to win, but who know.
Perfect! Now we can cross out several, but that still leaves us with Sakujou, Y2Kev and Aquamarine returning. I highly doubt we'll be getting Zhuge's graphs, though.
You just need PSN sucks for the bingo.

You said it was stupendously hyped, which one is it?
Also your natural inclination towards xbox makes me wonder what your point is?
Disregarding your thinly veiled comments of passive-aggressivness in every thread I see you in, you're changing the narrative. First it was stupidly hyped and now it's not?
Also, you're using one thread from GAF as proof of your point? What's next? Using one post to perhaps suggest The Order was more hyped than Destiny and Titanfall combined?

The Order 1886 was released February 20th 2015.
The voting for 'Most anticipated game of 2015' started on December 10th 2014 and The Order 1886 came 10th.
Quick math tells me, that the timespan between December 2014 and February 2015 is around 2 months.

It was stupendously hyped, from what I remember. My point? Nothing, really. It started as a friendly discussion about whether SFV was higher profile than The Order.
I don't know which passive-aggressiveness you're talking about. Disagreeing isn't being aggressive.
That comment from Atwa cross several things in the bingo...
I thought that was the 2014 list. Even still look at the competition in the list. It was exactly rife with hyped titles for 2015. You're also still disregarding the insane amount of hate the game garnered CONSTANTLY up until release. I have never seen a game get so much hate from so many people so often prior to release. It was literally inescapable.
I have noticed the same aggressive tone in some other threads I have been in as well as your self.
I recognise you because of this.
