Glad for PS4 and One sales !
Glad for this industry, the home consoles and physic games :D

Glad for Tomb Raider bomb, exclusive third-parties are the cancer of this industry, especially when you ignore the historic fanbase of the licence. Hope it will bomb next year on PS4.

Glad for Rocket League, the PS+ offer allows the game to be well-known and it ranks very well on PS Store charts in US/EU, very happy for the devs :D

The real question is if the GotY candidate The Order 1886 has sold more than RotTR. The European half year data would suggest so.
The order sold >100k in germany alone. I'd assume TR will not come anywhere close to it until the other 2 versions release.

Sony was smart, release their games Jan thru Sept. Let the 3rd parties have the Holidays. No pressure just get a good partner and bundle. So the "BEST" games don't mean shit to the people who want to buy them, they chose mulitplats.

Sony play this shit right.

Big thanks to all our fans who helped us have biggest Nov ever on #XboxOne in US, 1st party game sales up 72% this holiday.

Well that's a pretty shit attitude to have

Chalk me up as surprised TPP didn't chart, either. I figured Konami would at least make a token effort for a holiday push of their last console game, thought it could at least beat out a freaking Just Dance title.

RotTR is a bomb not seen since The Order.
At least Order was a bomb well deserved. ROTR is something like the Saturn as a a video game story: great initial plan, misread the market, sudden worst market changes become reality, internal fighting and aloofness leading to no adaptation, releases pretty much DOA in Western markets.

And years later, people will realize what a gem they missed out on but it's too late to save it from it's immediate fate. Didn't think this'd happen 20+ years later, yet here we are.

And it's actually kind of ironically fitting given the very first TR was supposed to be a Saturn exclusive.

Install base does not translate to a game selling high. I have no idea how one can argue it does, I jsut gave an example of how the PS2 install base didn't beat Halo or Gamecube yet had popular games in the FPS and platforming genre.

You said install base has nothing to do with it, which simply can't be true. If a marketing campaign convinces 5% of a given base to buy a game, then install base matters. Games can obviously sell more on less popular platforms, but to say that hardware numbers don't matter is just silly, no matter how many examples you can come up with involving Halo (a series with an absolutely ridiculous attach rate at one time) versus third party titles or one of Sony's now dead or almost dead franchises. That's called cherry picking, by the way.

They got Killer Instinct Season 3 in March, Quantum Break in April... Recore is allegedly due in Spring (probably late Spring if manages that, although unlikely)

Probably see Scalebound knocked over to early 2017 if I'm honest.
Beginning of 2016 indeed looks great. Quantum Break alone will keep me busy for a while. Not to mention Horizon 3 and Gears 4 for holidays. 2016 might be the most balanced, game release wise, year for MS.

Definitely not an STD, as I'm a pure.
COD fans don't give a damn, they're sticking to their Xbox's. They'll wait on that DLC.

Anyways congrats PlayStation.

No, you cherry picked specific examples to make your point. Something anyone can do. You should have taken my advice.

Didn't you use Super Mario Sunshine as an example? It sold around 6.3 million. Halo: Combat Evolved has sold 5 million

There are 7 PS2 games that dwarf both of those. Enough.

[Tomb Raider] launched in a very crowded window, but it has done well. A lot of people bought both Fallout 4 and Tomb Raider. At the same time we know a lot of people may have bought Tomb Raider and wait on Fallout or bought Fallout and waited on Tomb Raider.

It's funny when Phil Spencer says they won't be doing deals like Tomb Raider again. A case of no, I'm breaking up with you first!

PS4 should've surpassed 10m sold too.

Interesting that there wouldn't be any PR for that.

US sales of the PS4 should be higher than worldwide shipments of WiiU by the end of the year.

Such a console war in here, a quite embarrassing read so far. PS4 and Xbox One have seemingly had great months, good to see and not surprising considering the great BF-deals both of them had. Interested in seeing how Wii U fared. Lack of Nintendo PR thus far isn't encouraging.
Yeah I share your sentiment. I'm glad both did great. X1 selling less than Ps4 doesn't mean it was bad. It had great sales too, all those doom posts aren't needed

Congrats to my friends over @PlayStation on great NPD sales in Nov, gamers bought over 3M #XboxOne & #PS4 consoles in one month. Wow!

Glad to see this.
