Kojima's new game will be published by Sony, is also coming to PC, not Silent Hill

Realizing his skills were too valuable to be tethered to his old obligations, Ronin Kojima decides to serve no master

Am I the only one who thinks he looks much older now? Everytime I've seen him during MGSV's development he didn't look like he was over 50. Yet, now he looks so tired.

So companies should care about consumers but consumers shouldn't care about companies? Seems a bit unfair.

This is terrible logic in the age of capitalism. Companies don't give a fuck about you -- they only care insofar as you are willing to spend money on their product.

Edit: I'm not even against this deal either.

Good point.

Console debut - likely already out on PC, but will make it's console debut on PS4.
Console exclusive - PC/PS4.
First on PS4 - premieres first on PS4, then other platforms.
Sony console exclusive - PS4/PS3/PSV/PC

Mind your word choice people.

People are right. It's so simple!

Glad this is coming to PC. Will be great in 1440p and 144Hz (if they support it).

Not on Xbox? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

We'll see if it's any good, then I'll probably purchase on PC. Congrats to PS4 owners on this coup, a very smart move.

Yes, it was also used for that. But it could just as well mean a day-and-date PC release, or a late PC release, or none at all (though that latter is increasingly uncommon).

That's why I consider it the most nebulous.
It's undeniably awkward, but at the same time I'm not sure what they can do about it. Take FFVIIR. That will probably be on PC at some point, but who knows when. If Square don't know when it's going to hit PC or have a roadmap for the release, thay can't exactly confirm a PC release down the line. Similar with Ni No Kuni. Console Debut in my head means a probable NX version down the line. With it being Level 5, it might not even have a PC release, but if they want to keep their options open they can't confirm or deny PC releases at this stage. If the company making the game doesn't know what they are going to do yet, then there's nothing Sony or whoever can do to clarify the situation on announcement.

With the new Kojima project, a PC version his already planned from the get go even if development hasn't started yet and the studio was only formed today. They know what they are doing so they can safely clarify. Without that future knowledge what else are they supposed to?

Well I don't hate my father so I guess that doesn't apply to all companies. *shrugs*

Wanting to make money is one thing but saying any company out to make money doesn't give a fuck is a little extreme but hey, what do I know.

Very good news! I'm certain I'll have a good GPU by the time the game releases, so I will probably get this on PC. However! If the PS4 version comes out any earlier than the PC version I would probably get the PS4 version. I want to abosolutely be there on day one!

I'm pretty sure it will be out for the PS4 first.

Maybe I am crazy but a want this game to be horror/tropical location.
Horror vibes for me is almost a given. Tropical location is just a dream.

The statement cut off the end of one of the amswers, I've corrected it:

Q12. Will the title have something to do with the METAL GEAR series?
No. It will be something completely new.
“METAL GEAR” is a title from Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd.......
fuck those guys

ghst

thanks for the laugh
you have to wonder how many posting in here are even going to want to play a game on their PS4 by the time this actually releases.

we'll all be very different people by then.

The same goes for Silent Hill, Suikoden, etc.
I really hope Sony can bring the IPs from them or else those franchises will ended up as pachinko games.

It's like Steam never existed :p

And why would you require friends to sit around watching you play a single player game? Odd.
What exactly is wrong with what he said? I saw my brother's friends standing behind him while he was playing on his PC in his small room just two days ago because they had nothing else to do.

I guess I would just find it boring to sit behind someone watching them play a game by themselves. That might have been entertaining as a child, but I can't see that as being all that fun as an adult.

And ultimately, what is wrong with his statement is that if - for some reason - you want to play a PC game while friends watch you, you now have good options for doing so on your television, so the whole "lol, no comfy couch" line just really needs to stop.

He's had no job to go to for 3 months and partying takes its toll. Sony is probably drying him out as we speak.

Good news, more people will get to play the game.

And that is what matters to us, right GAF?

I think this is a pretty great outcome tbh. Sony seems like a good publisher for Kojima and people who don't have/want a PS4 will be able to pick it up on PC.

I don't think hooking up a PC to a TV is simple for everyone though due to houses being different and all.
