Site isn't loading but I saw it on the Tales of FB page.

Link to announcement trailer. (is an official subtitled version of the trailer recently released)

I'm very glad to see they're going to stick with the PC!
Also this presumably means no PS3 release for the west this time.

Now both threads are unified and have the same info :p

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
I hope it's a complete game this time.

Sweet, hope they improve on the pc port. Unlocked fps and arbitrary resolution/aspect ratio are sorely needed.

If they don't, now that Zestiria has been fixed by modders I guess the same will be true for Berseria.

It shouldn't be this way, but you know...

I hope they keep the dual audio from now on. (It doesn't really matter anyways since the franchise is now on PC)

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Hells yeah! Not as speedy an announcement as Zestiria but we're getting it.

Not surprising but I think this is the first confirmation that the four character designers are returning?

Wonder if they'll manage 2016 or it will slip to 2017.

Nice to have confirmation I guess. Maybe we'll get it even closer to the Japanese release this time?

It's possible considering that there still isn't even a timeframe for the Japanese release aside from 2016. That makes it seem like it's probably coming out in the second half to he year in Japan.

I was honestly super disappointed in ToZ, but a PC JRPG is a PC JRPG, so I'm buying it on Steam day one

Last two games were a bit on the downside at least for me. (I much prefered Xillia 2 to Zestiria but still) Hopefully this one will be knocked out of the park

It only seems like a yearly franchise since the West had to play catch-up for several years now. There were over 2 years between Xillia 2 and Zestiria in Japan.

That's unbelievable considering how rushed Zestiria felt. This one looks a lot more promising so far.

So, are people happy Tales have become a yearly franchise?

The quality drop is apparent but it's okay, people will still buy anyway. I never even finished Zestiria, it was a truly barren game. The cast was much more enjoyable than Xillia & Graces but everything else was like... Yikes.

Xillia 2 came out 2012
Zestiria came out 2015

It's only a yearly franchise in the West due to all the catch up.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.

Well, it's not like they can't do it. Dark Souls 2 added a few options that weren't in the original Prepare to Die release of 1. Since this is Namco (under the same umbrella) it could possibly have more graphics options. Namco seems to be one of the better Japanese publishers that "get" the PC platform.

The Tales factory running at full speed now.

It's overwhelming for me, haven't got a clue where to start, same for the Atelier franchise.

If they keep on setting high goals for Tales, they'll end up rushed and half-assed. AFAIK, their budget has been reduced. They should at least aim smaller like Graces.

If they announce Berseria this soon, they could be releasing this game in Summer or even Spring, not in October like Zestiria which was announced in June (4 months before release).

I'll probably grab it and then never play it. Still haven't played Xillia 2 or Zestiria despite owning the former. Only ones that really grabbed me are Symphonia and Graces.

That's a shame. The last few sold poorly I guess ? They could go for a different and prettier art style (I have no problem with the one they are using but they could look prettier no need to top Final Fantasy but there's a step in between that's for sure) but I'm not sure it'd lead to better sales, and then a larger budget. Then again who am I to know I don't lead a huge video game company :p

Glad it's coming to PC. Unless there's s good preorder bonus like Zestiria, I'll probably wait until a sale to get it. Wasn't really feeling Zestiria and this game seems to be more of the same.

uhhh...they're all self-contained stories. If you see one, pick it on your platform of your choice and go from there.

I'm with you on Atelier, though. :(

There actually isn't any confirmation the game is releasing in 2016 anywhere. While it's extremely possible it will, we still don't have confirmation. The Japanese site states the release date as "未定" which pretty much translates to "TBD" in English. I hope it doesn't slip to 2017.

Here's the spec page on the Japanese site: http://talesofberseria.tales-ch.jp/spec/

EDIT: Never mind, Famitsu says otherwise in an interview. It seems BNE hasn't updated that page.

You can play any, the only one you gotta play in order is Xillia and Xillia 2. They are only related by name and some items name. That's it. They're not even in the same universe. They are as far apart as every Final Fantasy (besides the XIII trilogy and X-2)
