Kaer Morhen from the wild hunt
you get all petty with shit because I had to cover my boy Dandelion's ass and wont help a brother out.

I'm fucking glad I wrecked your fat stupid face in Gwent, you petty asshat.

And yeah, everyone who said that TW3 gets better once you distance yourself from the Dandelion saga of shit quests, you were all right. Im now +50 hours in, still in Act 1, and i can't get enough of the game.

So is this thread getting locked in favor of the seal thread?

Hoping for Spelunky to reach whatever I have in card money, 1.50 or so. Lean Christmas at the Anustart family this year lol.

Its usually like 2-3$ during the sales. And its easily worth it :) very addicting and you'll get a lot of hours out of it.

Hey my good GAFfers! I just finished The 39 Steps and, as always, I decided to give my little impressions. :)

Steam Review: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198043835726/recommended/234940

If you don’t mind a game with almost no gameplay elements and you are looking for something diferent to relax in the cold winter, 39 Steps might be the game you are looking for. Sit back, get warm and grab a cup of tea or coffee because you will only need to move your mouse every now and then. You play as Richard Hannay, a man from London during 1914 with a boring life whose fate changed after a certain event. Now, he’s being chased by a crime he didn’t commit. And that’s when the story gets interesting.

The game reads like a book, and you won’t have any choices to make like, say, a Telltale game. You just explore your surroundings, read some descriptions, and move on with the story. The game does not lie about this, their premise is really honest and you should know what you are getting into, you will be reading a digital book with some clicks here and there. As the story goes, tension will go up as things may get troublesome in the road making Hannay finding different means to get what he want weather by escaping, stealing or using his wits and words with strangers. The visuals of the game are calm with vibrant colors. They are hand painted with minor movements like the wind and it will remind you of some old point & click adventure games. During your play through you will also find some collectibles by explorations. These are very hard to miss, especially if you are playing the game carefully and take your time to look at the scenario before being done with it.

After 4 hours I finished the game and I do not find any reason to play it again. It’s a different experience and it was something I rather enjoyed. The final chapters make the conclusion satisfying and I was engaged in the game from start to finish. When I finished a chapter I just had to go to the next one as I was too curious to know what was going to happen or how Hanney is going to find a solution for his current problem. Because there’s almost no gameplay mechanics involved this games ended being quite relaxing. You can be very tired after a long day at work sipping your hot beverage while playing 39 Steps and it’s going to be a nice experience.

Yo The_Monk, do grab Aviary Attorney during the Winter Seal, it's an interesting Adventure game in the vein of Phoenix Wright series.

We should just lock this thread and not make a sale thread either. So we can all be wanderers on the gaming side for a couple of weeks. At the end we'll see how many managed to avoid a ban.

Why is nobody buying my foils? I need that money to buy even more cards.

i just really hate tutorials

wish it was like eternity that teaches you as you go along

I mean, you know crpgs failry well, i'd say you don't even need to play it nessecarily. The game doesn't really do anything completely new or innovative mechanically. Only the combat might need some time to click, but i think you could work the stuff out yourself.

I thought we close until New year's

Pls don't.

Well thjs thread already exceeded 200 pages, I'm sure we can survive over in GD with people asking if game X would go cheaper, or if $1 game X is worth getting, or why games aren't on sale when the sale hould've started, or asking if they should get game Z on PS4 instead, etc. etc.
Yeah we can manage, right guys?

*shrug* Another game to dodge in hope of while other people buy this actual JRPGs I would be interested come out.

So how are you celebrating the start of the sale? I'm going to make a burger and got a couple of beers.:D
Play video games, if I am even here.

Ugh we gonna get locked?

Yeah they decided on it awhile back. My prediction will be people crying about the lack of dailies and stuff and the thread becoming becoming a ghost town soon after. Apparently this is an attempt to get more people into the community thread, which I don't think people will join and remain active in unless they want to, but, the majority just care about what costs what and see if they can get some free shit.

I would not have expected Broforce to be in the top 10 but it is a pretty fun time. I think the randomization of heroes and one-hit kills can be really frustrating, depending on the level, but there are so many moments in that game that made me giggle like an idiot that it's easy to excuse.

For you.
Locking this thread seems a bad idea altogether. There's no reason for, especially since the sale thread will be dead after two days and chances are that no one new will come over to the community thread after it anyways.

Well you never know there might be some really nice people in the sale thread that either don't visit the community section at all or think this place is a hive of waifu's and anime. Also a bit of 'socialising' in the other side might clean up some posting habits (yeah I'm laughing at that thought too). Anyway I'm lumbered with being stuck round relatives houses I'd rather not be for the next week or so as of tomorrow so don't you crazy lot doing anything stupid.

PS. The sale is going to be shit, we know it won't make us tingle in the right places but for a Steam Sale Virgin it's still a new and wondrous experience so don't be a miserable bunch of sods.

I complain about this constantly, but Steam wallet card deals are so rare. Next time a good 20-25% off sale comes around, I'm going to drop $200.

I got 30€ in card money and nothing I really need right now. They'll need to have some huges discounts to get me to buy anything, so I'll probably buy close to nothing.

I'll miss the flash sales

with that defeatist attitude then, yeah, no one will come.

I think it's great to lock this thread and force everyone onto gaming for a bit. For one, we'll get asked if X game is any good a thousand times.

But seriously, it gives the Steam community some coverage on Gaming side. lots of folks likely are unaware that this thread exists and what a great community resides here. And if the community tries to stay insular by not engaging other steam users in gaf by hiding in community then, yeah, no one will come.

These communities are often tight knit in such a way that it can be daunting to just come into a community thread and start posting. Let's mingle with the newbies and (hopefully) we'll all grow from the experience in myriad ways

Dusk Golem

A 21st Century Rockefeller
In the newest Famitstu, it was confirmed Tales of Berseria is set in the same world as Zestiria, but centuries before.

So this raises chances that Berseria is probably coming to Steam, right? Zestiria already available on Steam (sold decently it sounds), some loose story connections, Symphonia was another Tales of Game that was a years-before prequel to another one, etc.

Don't lock it, sales threads are terrible. It was kept open last time and it was fine right?

It was announced for PC yesterday

Unless people here are going to protest the other thread and not post it'll be fine.

1.No more dailies so outside of the first few hours of the sale the thread won't go very fast.
2.There will be a steady stream of new people asking questions but not like how it used to be. Considering a lot of us here were around back when we locked threads AND had dailies the speed of the thread won't be an issue. It'll be about as quick when we go on a off topic tangent.
3. There's no issue in interacting with the community. "I don't wanna inform about game X or if something is a good deal". No reason to leave people to the woods. Ignore them if you want or add their comment as you reply to other people as well.

I don't understand why people want to grow as a community and not put any work towards it. Putting a link to the thread or a blank post of "check SteamGAF community" isn't doing anything. I would think a good chunk would want to help out considering a lot of our prominent members came during the last sale with dailies when we only had the one thread. If you're just yourself in that thread its fine. It's literally going to be this thread but with a different name. Dunno why there's so much negativity over gaming side.

Just realised I haven't gotten a booster in months. Did they change it so you don't get them randomly as people craft badges, or am I just in a rough patch of luck?

There will likely be an advertisement in the OP and we will discuss the move to Community in the thread.

Berseria already confirmed for Steam release Dusk!

Pretty much how I feel about it. Making a bunch of posts in the vain of "Well if you like these posts about arguing about prices come visit the Steam Community thread!" seems a bit weird at times, personally.

I am not saying don't put any work towards it, I am just saying I don't think these attempts work all that much especially in Sales threads where a majority of the posts are just screaming about prices with people that don't read the OP.

Excuse my wave of negativity. Ill give posting in the Sales thread a shot as I won't be buying much anyway but, I dunno man.

you should prepare an advertising campaign
lemme help you
every sales thread page has to have links to previous steam threads and anime gifs and nice reviews or snarky posts from there quoted.

no need to thank me
