Scalebound delayed to 2017

This game is one of the reasons I got an Xbox One. I hope they use the time to add a character creator though.

Well at least there's Halo Wars 2!
Seriously though, this means I'm not going to own an Xbone until at least late 2016.

Xbone purchase delayed to 2017.

Fuck, this was the game man. Hopefully they have something else planned that they haven't shown yet because the current offering is not persuading me to get one.

It's not like MS do it for every game and sccordibg to ntkrnl it was originally due in March 2016. Things get delayed, it happens
Microsoft deliberately & desperately announced a lot of games at E3 2014 that were super early into development (if even in actual development) and were likely to see delays in production. Now we have Phantom Dust that is probably dead & buried, Scalebound that has already been delayed to the next year this early in 2016, Quantum Break that people are still waiting for, Crackdown which we've hardly seen anything for etc. They were desperate to give people some reason to buy an Xbone, yet almost none of those will have been released within two years of their announcement and I wouldn't be surprised of more delays.

There should be a thread of e3 2015 announced huge hitters and their release dates. I feel like 75% or more of sony's e3 was delayed or is releasing after e3 2016 and 50% of Microsofts. Yikes

Yeah, no. They do it for every game.

They just gotta have those shitty CG trailers at their conferences.

And now we're here waiting forever for Black Tusk's game and Phantom Dust.

How many shitty CG trailers did they have at last E3, two?

and they don't do it for every game. they barely did it this past E3. you're overly upset.

So I guess we'll be seeing Scalebound at the next 2 E3s?
Not necessarily. They could've delayed it from November 2016 to March 2017 for all we know

Also I doubt it will look much different as others have been saying. They may rework drew or add player creation but I don't see the core changing. Also they showed it at one of the Xbox Asia fan events and the frame rate looked a lot smoother

Was Recore ever given even a tentative 2016 release date? I assumed it was at least a couple years out when they revealed it with just a CGI trailer and no gameplay or even gameplay details. Like have they even told us what kind of game it is yet?
They said it was coming spring 2016. And no, we have not even seen a snippet of gameplay. That is why I feel a delay is coming for Recore too.

ReCore, Quantum Break, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown 3, Gears 4

If anyone thinks to see one of these this year is delusional (Well maybe QB will make it)

MS clearly showed their cards way too early

I believe they originally said it was Spring 2016, so everyone naturally assumed gameplay footage and details would follow. Clearly that was completely unrealistic as they haven't even shown anything of this game yet. I'm guessing late 2016, maybe August onwards.

I think we see Crackdown Multiplayer and Sea of Thieves open beta or something like that this year.

Yes, I agree. I think Sea of Thieves will most likely launch like Fable Legends and have a protracted beta period, while Crackdown will probably have its MP bundled in with Gears or something similar (Quantum Break, maybe?).

MS lineup already look really weak against Sony in 2016, and now this just made it worse. They really need to announce new exclusives in E3 if they want to keep their last 2 years record.

There is 0% chance that Quantum Break is pushed to 2017. Its release date is April 4th. You really think they'll push it 8 months this close to launch? Come on.

A delayed game is eventually good!!!

Literally hundreds of games to play before then.
My wallet has a motorized device inside it that makes it open and close on its own when laid on a flat surface, mimicking repeated prostration or kowtow, as if it is prostrating itself before you, praising you with gratitude, Platinum and Kamiya-senpai-desu.
WE should be happy for this DELAY.
Q4 was going to be crowded as a mother.
My backlog thanks you too, Platinum and Kamiya-senpai-desu!
This will give me more time to finish up Zelda U, which will certainly not be delayed again, and perhaps purchase an Xbox One gaming system by then.
Take all the time you need to make it good, Platinum.
Also gives me time to beat previous Kamiya-made games that I haven't ever touched since I don't truly need new games ever ^3^

A bad game is bad forever.

QB is coming, Recore we have no idea how far they are and they gave a more tentative date than scalebound. Sea of thieves will probably get some kind of multiplayer beta this year, and they already said crackdown would have a beta this summer and they didn't say it would be releasing in 2016

I can see them having for 2016

Quantum break
Fable legends
Gigantic
Recore
Forza horizon 3
Gears 4

With betas for sea of thieves and crackdown

Also I have no idea about Halo wars 2

Not surprised given how early Scalebound was announced. They were 7-8 months into production at the most at that point.

The first half of 2017 is also a much better release date for the game than late 2016 (where even a great game from a known IP in Tomb Raider got buried in 2015).

Scalebound team is on his own, Kamiya also said on twitter time ago that it is not team Wonderful which is developing SB, so i guess they just needed more polish time and a less crowded release time. Bayo 2,Korra and Transformers were made by different P* teams.
I know it's a team of its own, but it's still a Platinum game and Platinum is a relatively small developer (very efficient, though). If they have had several other teams & a big portion of the company working on games like Bayonetta 2, Korra, Transformers, TMNT & Nier 2 after W101's release, in addition to Scalebound, that doesn't necessarily leave a whole lot of (core) people to work on Scalebound, so unless Microsoft sacrifices either quality or scope of the game, I don't see this being released in ~12-15 months.

I would like to think that one of the reasons for this delay is because they heard the complaints of fans and they are either adding a character creator or changing the main character completely.Probably not the case though.

Quantum Break is out in a couple of months.

I think Gears 4 will make it and I am slightly concerned that Crackdown will get a rush job to get it out this year.

Sea of Thieves and ReCore will end up releasing in 2017.

If they really desperate to give people some reason to buy an Xbone, they should just not delay and release a half-done game, because most people won't buy the console first and wait the only game he want to play release.

Let's be real though, no way are all of Sony's titles slated for 2016 are actually coming out 2016.

Anyone wanna take a guess what the XBO's street price in Germany will be come 2017? Like, sub 200€ maybe?

Looking at that potential lineup, Xbox One isn't too bad for 2016. Though I think Recore will definitely be delayed to 2017 but I think Halo Wars 2 is definite fall 2016.

Let the delays begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calling it right now:

Horizon
FFXV
Mass Effect
Paragon?
FFXV is already done, basically. They are just polishing and making some minor additions/adjustments to the game anymore. That can take a long while with a massive RPG like FFXV, but it's not going to take 12+ more months considering they've already said they have polished 50% of the game to completion.

Quantum Break is definitely releasing this year. Gears 4 will probably make it, too. Crackdown may make it; if they get the beta out this summer like planned, i wouldn't be surprised. who knows about ReCore or SoT, though. To be fair, those were announced last year.

Of course QB will make 2016, I can see it getting a short delay, but over 8 months delay no way. I think we could see Gears 4 at the end of this year.

Crackdown has a confirmed a multi-player beta this year, full release likely 2017 though.

Uncharted 4, Gravity Rush 2, Horizon, Ratchet and Clank, Ni No Kuni 2, Ace Combat 7, Nier 2, SF V, GT sport, Detroit. Persona 5, dreams, The last Guardian, Ni-Oh. Even if 4-5 were delayed Sony would still have better line-up than MS.

Look around, "desperate" microsoft aren't the only ones who announced games that got delayed.

Sure they announced a few games with some cgi trailers, it happens as do delays but they aren't the only ones that have/do do it.

Good guy ms gives teams the time they need to get the game done righf
