Street Fighter V is getting thrashed by the Steam reviews

for reals don't understand the mass of people dog piling this when vs. matches (read: the game) are so fun. :/

it's like slamming your chessboard for not being feature rich enough

Make a new thread for it being trashed on Amazon reviews also.

This is not worth a thread

Shitty launches on PC always lead to tons of negative Steam reviews

Other examples: Arkham Knight, Tales of Symphonia, basically any Tecmo Koei game, etc

It's good that people are being made aware of the current issues, and I say that as someone who really enjoys it.

I didn't pay 60 for it so I can excuse the lack of content, but the online issues were not cool.I can understand someone being being upset if they paid full price for this though, there is barely anything in the game, and more over there are a lot of weird oversights. The command list for example is really bare bones

I've been really enjoying it, but the servers have been a bit rocky.

Given how it's the first day of a new release I'm not too fussed over it.

I get that SFV is very disappointing outside of the gameplay, but does it deserve 5 different threads about how disappointing it is?

It's a fully priced retail game with significantly less content than its predecessors being sold on the *promise* of future updates bringing it in line with expectations. Don't see how it's hard to understand that people don't like that.

Also apparently the servers have been broken, but that's basically par for the course for any online game these days... sadly.

Can't forget metacritic.

Yeah make one for that too. Soon we will have the front page with nothing but SFV threads.

Any publicity is good publicity right?

Street Fighter V is the only online game to have a rocky online launch ever. Diablo III never happened.

On day two Capcom have fixed it so you can play games more smoothly but that doesn't matter, where's my arcade mode. I like fighting against broken AI that reads my inputs.

Is it really that light in content? Jeez, I don't remember Splatoon getting thrashed like this.

Splatoon got its content much faster + Launched with a single player campaign + It was something new for WiiU owners so there was no precedent.

That said, some people did still give it shit.

As it should, really.

-No offline unlocks that can be done with the servers down
-Servers on fire
-No Direct Input Stick support from the get-go (despite SF4 and other fighters doing that), Xinput only. Which means 50% of sticks are useless unless
-Workarounds for sticks which shouldn't be needed to do
-Content can only be unlocked in online battles, see servers for that
-Spares content
-Etc.

I regret giving Capcom $60 and since dailies probably won't give offline only people a chance to unlock the DLC characters for free, I feel like I should probably refund the game instead of sitting and waiting for the servers to clear in regards to trying the online, seeing it's lag filled, and going promptly back to being offline only.

Good.

Ono and Capcom have been bad actors in this, rushing a clearly unfinished game out so that it can be on the pro tours. Launch day server issues are one thing, but the game is so threadbare in content and options, and generally feels unpolished. As you'd expect from a game that clearly needs another 4-6 months in the oven.

Splatoon had a solid amount of content from the launch with IMO a short, but great single player campaign. Nintendo brilliantly released new maps, weapons and a whole new Vs. mode for months after its launch (last one was a few weeks ago?)

Not sure how Capcom is going to handle Street Fighter V regarding content output as the game goes on but all the updates for Splatoon were free.

Not surprising really. I'm playing on ps4 and have had problems connecting but played about a dozen vs matches earlier and had a great time with it even though I stink and only won one of them.

I didn't have any problems finding matches today, but launch day was pretty bad. While I do get that launch day usage is insane, when the game's primary selling point is playing against other people ... it gets to be pretty upsetting.

I clicked the thread to say the same thing. Just like Diablo 3, it deserves some heat under it's butt. Puts some pressure on them to make it better faster. I like the game and all but it deserves more resources from Capcom, and maybe Sony (says a PC player).

Valve, add in some $$$.

Capcom seem to be working hard though. I had a Fighter Profile that consisted of only numbers, and they are now fixing it one customer at a time.

I am curious if we will see the consoles mobas (battleborn etc) be well recieved when all they have is a handful of modes with most being pvp

Yeah, Diablo 3 totally got a free pass.

Well, despite them marking and clearly stating it, many people (rightfully) jumped into SFV thinking it would have a decent amount of content.

And the game being anemic with its single player support (no arcade mode, very short 'story' mode, lack-luster training mode) at launch really doesn't help the fact that causal fighting game fans getting this will be like "Wait....where is all the content?! SSFIV Ultra had a ton of content, why is this game lacking......."

This game at launch is for hardcore fighting game fans ONLY, with casually fighting game fans considering this when all the single player content releases by June.

I get why it was rushed to market (fighting game events and such) but they could of put an arcade mode and mission mode or something......

There a roadmap for the first year of content all updates are free.
