Fire Emblem Fates |OT| Nohr does what Hoshidon't

Remember how nuts trying to find a copy of Awakening at launch was?

I didn't preorder either one of these, so hopefully I can walk into a store and get birthright this afternoon.

Assuming that goes well, this weekend is going to rule!

I think you should be ok, Awakening's success seemed to generally surprise Nintendo. I think they under shipped. I think this time, they know to get a decent number of copies in the wild.

You buy the other campaigns through the ingame store on the menu. They should be half off the retail price.

Yeah, you have to buy it as DLC, not as an E-Shop game.

No Conquest. Only Before Awakening and Map Pack 1 (is that conquest?)

Are there any forced marriage time limits or can I just grind them all after I finish the game?

I pre-ordered both standard games, but since realizing that I will be missing out on content if I don't do the DLC paths for the other 2, I'm likely going to just get one over the other (not sure which one yet - I'm torn as I've played FE games for a long time, so Conquest is appealing, but Birthright sounds more appealing as a starting point since I am planning on playing all 3).

I have questions though:

- If I buy one retail and then DLC for the other one, will it be a gimped version in any way? Is there anything I'm missing out on by not getting the other version physical as well? Or is it the exact same game as the retail, just now tied to the other cart? I know there are in game bonuses for going the DLC route, but I thought Id check if there was anything at all the other way.

- I know you have the option to buy the other 2 campaigns after ch. 6, but how is it done? Does it boot you to the eShop? Is it an in-game thing? I assume it uses the Nintendo Network payment system, so you have to add funds to your account? Or is it a separate thing?

Thanks!

if i recall non are forced and if your playing birthright im guessing u can get them after u finish the game

if you go the one physical/dlc route its way better because u get the extra bonuses infact if u go the two physical route ure gimping yourself more (its mainly for collecting reasons) (the op has a better way of explaining it but this is just the short version)

apparently the option is open once u hit chapter 6 and its done in game (the op also explains that)

ah it seems someone above has explained it its in the menu under the explore paths option

So in conquest, I had a character die before chapter 6. Will they come back again now that I made my decision? Or did I screw up. Playing Classic mode btw.

Wooooooooooo today is the day, few more hours until my shift ends, gonna watch Deadpool with my gf and then gonna pick up FE and just play for the rest of the weekend. I'm already planning which characters marries who, it sucks reading that in conquest you'll have to miss a kid which is tough, all the kids looks awesome tho ;-;

Sorry man, must've been quick skimming and I LOL'd literally. I read going home to watch Deadpool with my grandma. No idea why my mind jumbled a bunch of stuff together, need more coffee. HAH.

Sorry for the dumb question, but I assume it's possible to buy the retail version of conquest, buy birthright in-game and play through birthright first, right ?

I'll probably miss the SE whenever it goes up for pre-order in europe.

Will do, but it's like they seek her out, and I rocked Awakening- but this is tough. I find it interesting though, it won't let you kill off "key" characters yet. They just retreat.

have her stay on the other side of the river so nobody can hit her, then send everyone else except Xander down (well don't let Camilla get sniped)

My SE order from Best Buy just got delayed by maybe up to a month?

The item listed below is taking longer to fulfill than we anticipated. However, we do expect it to arrive at your door by 03/14/2016.

Just got my hands on my copy of Conquest! The game was sold out at the shop I normally frequent so I went and got mine at the other game shop in the mall. The cashier even gave me a discount on the game!

And FE's 'normal' is its easy mode, right?

Usually. That's why they say it's for series beginners.

In Conquest's case, I think Hard is actually hard. I haven't played on normal though, so I can't compare with that.

LOL I'm on my 2nd coffee already, got an early shift today but I just been itching to just grab FE already.

Reading stuff here is making me too excited. How hard is hard mode is conquest? I was planning to go Casual/Hard for my first run.

Oop. Already picked Hard. It's alright though. I'm sure I'll manage.

If I can get through the Souls games, I can power through this somehow too haha.

I have FE:Birthright coming in today and Conquest next week. Can I begin FE:B now or is there an order?

Also, since I have physical copies of each game, will the Revelations DLC be discounted somehow? I read that there are SD saves, can its data tell that I have both versions?

And does the Special Edition let you play Revelations from the start and from the cart?

From, the ot.

Price
Special Edition: $79.99 USD + Tax/$99.99 CAD + Tax
Retail/Digital Birthrights/Conquest: $39.99 USD + Tax/$49.99 + Tax
Second Version Digital: $19.99 USD/$24.99 CAD + Tax
Revelation 3rd Path: $19.99 USD/$24.99 CAD + Tax
DLC: See DLC Section
Blocksize for Both games: 13,000/~1.5GB? The downloadable paths take little space. DLC doesn't take much as well. You should be able to fit all 3 digital games in under 3GB.
Save Slots: 9, 3 on cart 6 on SD.

If you STILL don't understand. You basically pay 39.99 for one version, and the other path and the 3rd route are both $19.99 as a digital download. You get all 3 paths for ~$80 TOTAL. The only other extra optional expense is DLC.

Why should it not matter? The second and third routes take very little SD space and a majority of the space is from the retail cart or from the initial version you bought. It is not recommended to get 2 retail carts because they do not give you benefits. Deal with it.

IF YOU STILL DON’T GET IT… Nintendo of America provided a visual.

You can start with Rev on the special edition cart.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the game lets you lower the difficulty if hard mode proves to be too hard for you.

UGH, I can't decide which genders I want to use for Birthright and Conquest!

I was gonna go Male Birthright / Female Conquest, but if I do that, then farewell to the lovely Nohr ladies (Camilla)... Must... decide...

Not enjoying the first few chapters at all. I'm hoping it improves after selecting a side in chapter 6...

Is there any way to complete chapter 5 without sacrificing characters in Hard Mode? I've tried every possible angle, the characters just are not strong enough to handle the number of enemies being thrown at them. I hate gimmicky levels like this, hopefully these are infrequent.

Hi guys, quick question of which I can't find the answer in the OT. According to the official site's descriptions of DLCs, some rewards can only be obtained for the "first time only". Is it "first time" as in per save file/play through or across all save files? I would guess it is talking about per save file (otherwise it makes absolutely no sense) but just want to confirm. Thanks in advance.

No idea I chose the default difficulty but went with Classic mode.

I think they mean it's a reward for completing the DLC map for the first time in that file. Because, I think DLC maps are replayable.

Just finished Chapter 7 of Birthright. Really liking it so far. I'm playing Classic Normal, and not using skirmishes. I'll play Conquest next then Revelations. The revised pair up mechanics were a great addition in my opinion, and I'm sure that the unlimited durability will allow for a lot more strategy. I named my Corrin "AJ Styles" after the wrestler. It makes the dialogue more funny to me since I imagine that the wrestler is in the game. Weird, I know. I'll post thoughts on characters so far below in spoiler tags. This is up to the end of chapter 7

Corrin: SUPER OP. Maybe I've been lucky but he already has like 16 Strength and level 11. I made his advantage strength and disadvantage luck. I'm going to keep him out of action if possible for a bit to allow others to catch up

Kaze: Really liking Kaze, he has like a dozen resistance which is weird. Will probably be in my party the whole game.

Felicia: Also really liking Felicia. She's not very strong yet but she's super fast and I like her as an actual character.

Red hair girl who uses clubs: I wanted to use her since I feel like I never have enough axe users in Fire Emblem, but she hasn't been gaining Strength yet. Will probably bench if I find another axe user.

Sakura: Felicia does everything Sakura does and more. Will probably bench for a mage.

Male Pegasus Knight: This guy seems cool. I'll probably keep him, along with the myrmidon girl I got this chapter.

Azura: I like Dancers / Singers, so I'll stick with her.

The staff sisters have staves as their main draw, but pay attention to Sakura's unique skill. Just by being within two squares of an ally she can lower their damage taken by 2 or whatever. She's almost worth taking around just for that honestly.

I forgot that characters have personal skills now too, thanks for the reminder! Another change that I'm a big fan of. Hmmm. I guess I'll reconsider Sakura then!

Other way around has been my thinking (female Birthright, male Conquest, then female again for Revelation).

If you're having trouble finding a copy, check your local target stores. They have some in. At least they do in the charleston South Carolina area
