I can see Mario Maker being something that is for the NX console and Handheld, but be marketed more for the handheld since you can take it on the go.

Actually I totally forgot about Mario maker but if the screen controller is supposed to be optional this time around, I don't see that game working well on nx (unless it comes bundled with a screen controller). That's why I choose DK. That game sold around 1M when Returns sold over 6M. Nintendo expected more and it would be a quick and simple game to port over at 1080p60 (it's already at 720p60).
I feel DKCTF would make a great handheld game. If the NX portable could run it without any hitches that would be pretty good.

Which would also mean that, by extension, the NX Console would also get a Tropical Freeze port (if the shared platform rumor pans out).

That would be surprising, Mario Karts have been releasing every 3 years like clockwork for a while now. I can't imagine there wouldn't be something ready in 2017.

They finished development in 2015 - then the production team broke up. Given your time frame of 3 years, that would mean 2018.

Maybe Retro Studios or one of their contract studios are making that niche Nintendo franchise racer for launch. Before the Wii U, Nintendo always loved launching their consoles with a first-party racing game.

But I'm not confident Mario Kart 8 DX is an NX candidate, but I'm also saying that I don't think Mario Kart 9 has any shot of hitting before Spring 2018. Which is why these AAA Wii U ports make sense, because they sort of fill quick gaps and don't require large art teams - which is going to be a problem with the first-party games Nintendo has in full production already.

How many games do you think Nintendo has in production now for the NX?

Well internally, like Nintendo's main Kyoto and Tokyo offices, we probably have three certainties.

1. The Legend of Zelda
2. "3D action title from Tokyo office"
3. Pikmin 4

Then you have to figure that they will also have another mini-game concept title at launch.

New titles, definitive Wii U ports, remasters of 'other stuff' and a solid VC lineup (ideally everything we have now + more) would be very exciting launch.

And mario...whatever that may be.

...please be galaxy 3 or something that's not NSMB.

Well they definitely have more than four internal games being developed right now for NX. :p

This isn't Nintendo collectively, but just their two internal offices. I'm wondering how many more titles they can fully do alongside 4 AAA projects of that scale. I imagine Animal Crossing might be the fifth large NX project in full development? Keep in mind they also have mobile titles in development.

Question is where do Mario Kart 9 and Splatoon 2 fall in the pecking order.

Would the entire dev team be working on DLC though? A portion could have started preproduction on the next iteration after the initial release of MK8. Surely MK is perpetually in development these days.

SPOILER: Columbus finds America
Hoping for Zelda, Mario and Metroid during launch window....but we will get Nintendoland 2, Mario Maker nx and Miitomo home edition.

Yes correct. There are small core teams exclusively dedicated to the major on-going projects. But the MK DLC was definitely a full production staff. The small teams work on the prototype and core concepts but they can't get anywhere until they get access to a full scale production team.

For example the Pikmin team was together throughout the entire Wii generation. They developed two ports, and one NDS prototype that never released. But it wasn't until Pikmin 3 were they got a full scale production team to make a new game.

Isnt the Splatoon team a different team then those others? And could be well underway working on Splatoon 2

If I recall correctly, a portion of their Mario Kart team worked on mittomo and are working on mobile games. I'm 100% so don't quote me lol.

Also, Nintendo definitely has more than 4 major internal teams. I do expect Animal Crossing to be in production but I dont know if it's coming to the console. A part of me doesn't see it. I think Nintendo would want Animal Crossing at launch for the next handheld.

Hey, guys, I spoke to Emily Rogers and she says Shikamaru Ninja's predictions are the closest so far. Zelda and Smash Bros are two of the four Wii U ports coming to NX. Shikamaru Ninja named two of the other four games.
Also, Instro's post is 👌👌👌
except he got one wrong

Did you actually talk to her?

In one specific way of measuring it, yes. Cell traded programmers ease of use for maximum peak SIMD performance. Lacked branch prediction, was in order, but the SPUs had wide SIMD units, so if you had a something to do in a logical progression (1, 2, 3), it could be used well, but something more spaghetti like the PS4s Jaguar would still trounce it. It was almost like a GPU-ified CPU, right before GPGPU started taking off.

RAM was the big complaint with the 7th gen though, yes. Particularly the PS3s split setup vs the 360s more flexible single pool that could be split however a dev wanted. An alternate universe where either of them had chosen 1GB would be very interesting, especially if the PS3 went for a unified pool. But I guess we're lucky they were talked out of 256MB! I remember the Gears of War team talked MS into 512, which probably made that the minimum total for the PS3 as well.

Thanks for answering mate.

I wish I was a hardware wiz, would've tried experimenting with one of my PS3s boards.

Pikmin 4 WiiU is just a pipe dream from people lol its gonna be NX exclusive, one of those NX console and handheld show pieces

What I'm saying is that Miyamoto said the game is near completion. So its not necessarily a port in the sense that Zelda U and Smash are. It's just a straight up NX game lol

So its Smash Bros, Zelda, and either Xenoblade or Mario Maker

I dont think is a good idea to release many ports, atleast not on release date

What does it matter if they have new games too? Xbox one and PS4 has a bunch of old ports 1st and 3rd party

Ports help build the library, at least these wont be crappy ports, they will most likely improve on the original release

Do you want a WiiU situation where it was nothing to play for like 6 months after the launch games

Look if they give those of us who bought digitally a discount or something to go digital again I would consider both the system and some of the games

I checked the official page and it states 新作RPGゲーム. Probably a new RPG instead of a port.

Wonderful 101 didnt had enough waifus tho.

speculation on the internet is that with #FE they made their money back and then some more selling the music.

Avex places a considerable amount of attention towards #FE. A #FE concert is going to be held on May 15.

The details can be found here.

Nintendo would have no problem releasing a free app on IOS/Android where you can design levels on your phone or tablet, and upload them to your account.

Part of the reason Mario Maker works as well as it does is the ability to play-test your creations on the fly, and this idea really reduces/diminishes the ability to do that.

Well I mean this would be a third option really right? Already rumors of a more ergonomic screen controller being part of NX, then there is also the probability of the hand held also doubling as a controller. etc etc.
