Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare + COD 4: Remastered - Official screenshots

No one has said anything about a PC release so we should presume they're console captures.
I don't know what the standard procedure is with promoting new CoD releases, but the only reason they might opt to showcase the PC version (which is all but certain, I think) is so that they can get away with demonstrating the game at a higher fidelity without outing the super-secret PS4k or whatever.

Probably not, I know. But it'll be interesting to see these discussions going forward once the new machines are out there.

I'm rather unimpressed with the visuals in infinite warfare. When I compare it to other games like star wars battlefront, it looks mighty poor. Seriously Activision needs to develop an internal engine that is on the same level as FB3 or the new CryEngine. They are behind this gen when it comes to visuals and it's really embarrassing. M.W. remastered looks good though.

For 1080p 60fps? I really couldn't ask for much more tbh. I'd say it looks just as good as other 1080p 60fps FPS games...maybe not SW:BF, but then again, it is 900p (granted, like you said, it is a pretty neat engine that is used internally across all EA studios now which Acti. needed to with their studios).

I mean can you name other FPS games that look better this gen that are also 1080p 60fps? I definitely wouldn't say "they are behind this gen when it comes to visuals".

MWR will be the first CoD campaign I'll play or care about in ages.

Hopefully they'll get it to 1080p on XBO.

Are you guys serious? We've had years of futuristic garble through Halo, Destiny, and Call of Duty. Its not exciting. Seeing what used to be, a to-the-ground war game that was the original Modern Warfare is nice pat on the back for us tired of the average futuristic shooters. It makes more sense to call the Infinite Warfare screens generic to the current shooters rather than the other way around.

Yea. While Modern Warfare is still my favorite in the series, surely there's more artistic merit in Infinite Warfare, a sci-fi game, than a period driven title - the latter means you ultimately just copy source material. I think people are being especially brutal on the new game. It's anything but "generic" and uninteresting. I don't think that's fair to the hard working developers at Infinity Ward.
Yea the whole IW vs MWR is really obnoxious at this point, I was only excited for MWR at one point but I'm coming around to IW.

It's actually almost an accomplishment how generic and uninteresting they managed to make this man look.

The MW remaster stuff looks great though, definitely a notch above what I expected.

I wholly disagree actually, he has a pretty unique face compared to most CoD characters imo. Mostly the eye brows, hehe.

For CoD and for its time, sure. It really is a product of its time. But I can't understand how someone can then turn around and call the new space setting generic.

Relative to recent Cods, it's generic in the sense that it seems like more of Blops 3/AW with space sprinkled in.

It's really telling how people are more excited for the remaster than the new game.

I am hype for a slower CoD. Calling MW1 slow is weird but it is compared to CoD games these days.

Well, our Call of Duty: World at War thread was 980 posts (15.7 million copies sold) and, in the same year, we had a 9381 post thread on Valkyria Chronicles, so I'm not sure I'd call GAF the prime Call of Duty forum.

Even our Black Ops 3 thread is only on OT1 while things like Xenoblade can get well into OT2.

I do think our forum is very much the people the remaster is targeting though, which is people who picked up CoD with CoD4, but weren't necessarily annual customers afterwards.

I'm not saying anything about the game's quality. I haven't played it. I find it ironic people and yourself call settings and premises like the one in Infinite Warfare "generic" while praising a modern or past setting.

I think people are confusing personal tastes of timeline/setting and how fun they had with said game, and one they are not as interested in, as 'generic', lol.

At least it is most definitely the wrong word to use.

We also had years of modern gritty shooters trying to copy CoD4. There's a reason devs are taking the Sci-Fi route with shooters.

They're worried MWR might outsell it.

Which when you think about it is hilarious. Activision could sell more copies of a remaster than a brand new CoD for less money than it costs to develop the new game, and they don't want to do that? Okay then. Money on the table.

I just thought we would get a lazy ass 1080p upres, but no Raven did the full on anniversary treatment and it looks mind blowing.

I will give infinite Warfare a shot for this remaster!

Higher sales of a remaster is probably the biggest indicator the fan base could possibly give to Activison for where they want the series to go.

It'll sell well regardless. In the end they'll make more by charging $80.

Just kidding (kinda), but they'll most likely sell it separately in 2017.

i think they will sell it separately as an hd collection package in 2017 along with mw2 and mw3. i mean that packshot leak on amazon is real right?

Nice PC screens! I like the materials on the suit and glass visor.

I bought COD 1, COD: UO COD 2 and COD 4.

I honestly at the end of the day liked COD UO more than all the other games although COD 4 was the second best. Have not purchased one since because seeing it so horribly annualised immediately soured my brain more so than the repetitive gameplay almost.

I forsee a return to last gen, where there is nothing but modern military shooters forever and ever. We had a fun run with CoD trying new things with near and far future offering new gadgets and gizmos to augment movement and combat but it seems people just want last gen back where it was all brown and grey and very grounded.

So I'm on Amazon and it's not giving me the option of preordering the Legacy Edition for PC. Does this mean PC won't get the MW Remaster then? Or maybe just hasn't been announced for PC yet?

EDIT: Ah, it seems that the Legacy Edition is a package that is console only. The Digital Edition will have MWR for PC. False alarm. :p

I can kind of get the first complaint, but like, really? Call of Duty 4 was a lot of fun, but the setting is as bog standard as it gets.

The problem is these games have to be developed on a yearly cycle by different devs who have different philosophies on making a CoD game better than the last team.

It looks like an naval officer using his Class Bs. Terribly generic! Maybe add a few scars, an eye patch, give him a cigar that'll make him unique!

And no one seems to give a shit. All everyone wants is Cod4 again and several people are saying how exciting CoD4 looks because it's modern military and how boring IW looks because it's spaceships and colonies.

GD it I want that remaster pronto.

I told myself like 4-5 years ago I was done buying games in this series. But here I am

I can already tell infinite war means nothing to me. I would only get this to play MP COD 4

Nothing else, This future warfare shit is ridiculous.

All that saying generic and uninteresting seems be a all because of Nostalgia, now if you said you no trust IW, then I would get you. That said, not a IW fan so I shall wait and see.

Damn, I was more expecting simple stuff like higher native resolution and AA applied, but they are putting work into the Modern Warfare Remaster; it looks great!

I haven't gotten into Call of Duty in years, MW is going to be a great revisit.

If yall want MW1 remastered you have to at least buy the legacy edition.

Although in the future I won't be shocked if the sell it standalone digitally.

I think the futuristic settings they have done so far, even Ghosts really, look flashy but have no substance.
Modern Warfare 1/2 setting is the opposite. It's not flashy, it's not meant to be because they feel realistic as in you actually feel like you are there on the battlefield. I never felt that with the new games, especially BOII/AW/BOIII.
