Is it me or does his face look very modern day?

I like the idea of dedicated plane/tank classes. It should help curb the issue of people of constantly wasting vehicles that would otherwise greatly help the team.

I don't really understand all the clamoring for gameplay. This is a reveal trailer, mainly used to portray the tone, setting etc.

It's Battlefield, odds are you're 100% familiar with how it will play, and trust me there will be plenty of gameplay shown between now and release.

I typically avoid gameplay videos if I'm already interested in the game because I'd rather go in blind and because of that I'll choose a stylized reveal trailer over 10:00 of someone playing through a mission any day. but that's just me.

I can't believe people are hyped by this trailer. It's another fake trailer like battlefront that doesn't show off any actual gameplay and instead makes a cool cinematic montage in engine but with loads of extra animations that obviously don't exist in the game.

When they make a trailer like this one, that uses actual gameplay maybe then I can get a more accurate idea of what this game will really be like.

Looks cool. I want to see some gameplay and see it running on consoles before I really get excited.
I'm not worried about the console port. Dice it's untouchable for now. They know their shit when we talk of hardware optimization. My concerns are all for the gameplay consistence. Although I love in some way BF4, the solo campaign of BF it's always incredibly inconsistent in all the past release. I really hope dice can finally achieve a good single player campaign because it's frustrating seen such beautiful tech devasted to the lack of idea of the solo campaign.

i liked role-playing as a kamikaze pilot in battlefield 3 and 4
Jet rammers. You are the bane of my existence when I jump in an Attack Helicopter.

I'll admit, I've strapped C4 to a jet before and tried to ram it into tanks on the ground.

Even as a dedicated pilot class, I'm sure there will be lots of dumb shit you can do.

So a Reddit rumor went up a while ago that nailed everything that's been revealed so far, and also listed multiplayer modes and dynamic weather: https://www.reddit.com/r/Battlefiel...efield_2016_detailed_from_my_source_ww1_game/

Game Modes within the game itself: (also like to note that this will be one of the largest BF games map wise)
Conquest - Game is leaning very towards CQ large
Rush - Massive improvement over BF4’s Rush gamemode/map layout
TDM - TDM will be in the game
Domination - will be in the game
(potential game mode) - Last Squad Standing - operates much like Squad Deathmatch and elimination mixed together ( teams will be able to spawn on any team mate throughout the match until they are squad wiped. eliminating them from contention) this game mode has a good chance of being competitive.
Pigeon Game mode - Game mode that operates like what we saw on BF:HL where you must hold/carry around the objective to capture it which when captured gives a point to your team, then resets.
CQ and Rush mix that’s played on the maps Scar and Amiens. Where one team must capture flags to move up onto the map much like Rush works.
Dynamic weather on every map which includes:
Fog Rain Snow along with others
various of these will rotate on each map making every time you play it different than the last.
There's a pigeon related item in the Collector's Edition and the Last Squad Standing mode fits with Peter Moore's mandate that all their MP games have an eSports mode.

It also makes sense that they'd try to take along at least something from Hardline's new modes.

It looks modern because there are no images of WW1 that are that clear or detailed in existence. If there were, that wouldn't seem so out of place

Maybe yeah.

I don't believe that people look that much different from us 100 years ago. Different hairstyles and clothing sure but not actual facial features (right?).

Not sure. Could be like packy said. That we dont have high quality pics.

That Battlefront trailer was pretty representative of how the game looked. Dice is the last company I doubt when it comes to graphics.

It's the stupid blue/orange tinge, has nothing to do with his face.

Dub step seven Nation Army... Fucking really? I expect the settings to be nothing more than window Dressing for aggressive dlc and microtransaction hell.

Maybe the only way for the AAA industry to replicate the feeling of being a worthless Piece of meat for the warmachine is to turn players into cows ready to be milked for the last Drop.

Or maybe I'm just drunk and this Trailer looks like the most tired shit I've seen in a while despite the novel setting.

I think even Battlefield One and Battlefield First or Battlefield 1st would have been a batter choice for a name... It so odd to see the 1 in the name...

wtf did they do to Seven Nation Army?

anyway, this is a great contrast to CoD Infinite Warfare. Really curious to see how they'll pull this off.

It wasn't that there was no gameplay, it was the way they revealed it. Hyping up something for a week, going through a 6 hour retrospective livestream and having a 45 minute long conference just for a one minute trailer is not a good way to reveal a game. They should have just did what Bethesda did with FO4 and just put out the debut trailer and a press release saying that gameplay will be at E3 without any of the extra fluff.

I couldn't help but think this. Once in the midst of gameplay, it won't be an issue, because gameplay is abstracted once it's in your hands - but the cinematic side of this stuff feels a bit inappropriate. Like "look how badass this is! Millions of people died in complete agony in a living hell! How cool!"

I really think it had a lot to do with appealing to the fans of "Battlefield Moments", and that we swill get a campaign trailer with a little different tone. It seems like they've done their research and will be presenting battles that the majority of people have never seen or heard of which is great, but you just hope that the impact of those moments weren't lost on them. I understand what they were doing with this trailer and am not grabbing my pitchfork, but they should be careful how many goofballs they let up to present some of this stuff.

that's definitely why I hate historical event type of games, I have no issue with events that never occurred because it's easier for me to handle good vs bad à la Star Wars, I don't think it's cool to see people dying in trench for something they don't even understand...

it's kind of sad the gaming industry didn't embrase what Spec Ops the line did, it would have been way better...

If this is anywhere near gameplay, we're in for a treat.

Might make the more realistically-styled violence a bit grim, though.

I don't get why people are all like "Oh this is WW1 Imma GTFO NOW".

This is a Battlefield game made by DICE published by EA.

If you think it's going to play anything like the real war played out you've not been paying attention at all.

This is going to be over the top, the trenches are going to have minimal influence on gameplay. You can quote me on that when the game comes out.

Clearly lots of people happy with their choice to go with WW1. Personally wont be buying it, cant stand games set in that era.

Have there been any recent games set in WW1? The last one i recall is Verdun and it's pretty fun, but I don't recall any WW1 AAA games... at all.

Well, for me it looks great and if it works well on PC I'll probably buy the premium version

Huh. The weather part seems interesting.

This all sounds amazing.

Last Squad Standing and dynamic weather make me drool just thinking about it.
