Only change that needs to be made is making Chun-li unable to combo from her overhead in V trigger mode. That shit is ridiculous

and remove nash from the game too

Are you serious? Chun needs an upgrade, not a downgrade. As a chun player, she needs every advantage possible now! All of the major chun players have given up on her, and she's barely in the top 16 anymore in tourneys. Both Brolylegs and Ricky Ortiz have switched characters moving away from Chun, and it seems like she's just too underpowered to do much damage. Her close range game is easily dealt with when going against ANYBODY with power. Hell, only Rashid is as a weak as she is in this game. Yeah, if there's a rebalance, I'm hoping that they give my girl STRONGER power with her fierce kicks and punches so she can chain with some damn FORCE. I can only DREAM of a fast close-range overhead top down, but that's asking for way too much from Capcom. As is, just boosting her power on even something like her crouching fierce punch or, hell, her EX legs... NOBODY is scared of Chun.

not sure if serious

does his spinning arm move thing not work on it tho?

Too slow to do it on reaction, and if he does DP afterwards then he's invincible so no.

Thing is that the Tatsu is - on block, so Ken realistically has 2 options. Either he takes it like an adult and blocks/tries to tech throws or he does the usual shoto wuss out manuever of just DPing like an idiot in a - situation because OBVIOUSLY, the opponent is gonna push a button to try and capitalize.

It's true what they say, people think their character is literally the worst character in the game regardless of who it is.

chun li in this game is the ultimate scrub character. you have to be utterly terrible to be unable to get to gold within 5 to 6 hours of using her

Changes I'm hoping by the end of the year:

Chun Li can't no longer cancel St.HP into V-Trigger. Probably the best poke in the game and makes her impossible to deal when trying to play footsie because of how safe it is.

Characters with overheads(Excluding Crush Counter Overheads,Chun-Li and Karin) should be able to cancel into V-Trigger. Overheads are slow and unsafe at least make them worth using.

Add a priory system. I fucking hate how jabs and standing short is a better AA option than the character's actual AA. Characters with 3f normal shouldn't be waking up with jabs and shorts either. I just played a Chun-Li who counter hit Nash's Crush Counter with wake up jab. Maybe it's the netcode I don't know.

You get beat by 3f jab because you're mistiming your meaties. Or you're dashing in after a throw thinking you're plus. Also overheads dont need big damage to be useful, thats not what they're for.
Chun not being able to VT cancel sHP when everyone else can is just dumb.

I don't think she's the worst. I love playing her. It's just that when i look at high level play, she has been too easily dispatched.

Guess I'm utterly terrible. Also, ultimate scrub character? Really? I thought it was universally accepted by pros that the scrub character is R. Mika. C'mon....

everyone elses sHP doesnt range across 75% of the screen while being completely unpunishable on block

What's your favorite combo? Not necessarily with your main character.

Something about this combo is just super fun to do over and over. The fact that it uses all 4 of ken's specials is pretty cool, too.

Gief's Full V-trigger xx forward dash xx neutral jump xx EX air-SPD.

Just needlessly fancy.

I feel she is strong but depends a lot in the players execution and knowledge. She has to maximize every single opportunity since her life and damage are low

That feeling when you finally get a favorable matchup (guile v birdie) against someone with 4K more LP than you.
Finally ranked up to silver lol

I honestly can't believe you guys are serious. Not a troll post. Granted, i'm not a great chun by ANY measure, but I'm totally NOT understanding this whole 'overpowered' chun thing. This isn't a case of Nash or Ryu who are clearly very powerful and regularly used in top 32/16/8. As I said previously, when you look at any of the tournaments, the best Chuns have been knocked out of the top rather easily. I'm not talking about an Alex Meyers in Norcal regionals either. I'm talking about Ricky Ortiz, Brolylegs, etc. These guys have switched AWAY from Chun because she has to do too much work because her moves aren't powerful enough against high damage characters.

I never said Chun was trash, and she's certainly not a 'scrub' character for scrub players - which I actually find offensive, but whatever. Chun in SFV is on the same level as Dhalsim to me. Awesome characters that have to do an INSANE amount of technical work to lay low your Nash, Necali, Ryu/Ken, or Guile.

Chun needs a slight re-balance with regards to power output. That's all i'm saying.

Edit - I'm still a little shocked that I have to defend this, but look at ANY of the recent tourneys. Hell, look at everything from the ATL Final Round upwards. Look at the top 32 through finals. What are you guys even talking about? When Chun goes against any high damage character, it's LIGHTS out at close range.

She totally is. But Ricky abandoning Chun for Nash was NOT inspiring. :(

Ricki did not abandon chun at all. She just played an entire tourney using Nash to get used to using him in a tournament setting to have a side character. Chun is great and you need to stop downplaying your character lol.

I play Ryu and I think he's the best character in the game. He's fair though in the sense that he's only as good as the player using him which is why I'm still ass with him. I'm able to scrub out more wins with Ken despite not playing him regularly. I also think that anyone decent can have a pocket Nash without much practice haha

Just because American Chun players aren't strong doesn't mean the character isn't, and vice versa (See Rufus in SFIV outside of Vanilla and Super). There is no player in the US that uses her anywhere close to her full potential, Ricky included. Look at international Chun players and then look at US ones and notice where they're placing. The character is good, homie.

On another note, anyone up for some games?

This reminds me of Alex's last trial. Lariat (crush) xx CR HK xx V Trigger xx Sledgehammer xx Critical Art. (IIRC. It was something like that)

I did it maybe twice. I always dropped it at the Crit art.

i always did the sledgehammer too quick instead of charging slightly and the dude gets too close afterwards and crit misses

Who should I be watching? I'm always down to learn. I was trying to watch the Alioune match during the Red Bull Shoryuken invitationals, but it ended much the same way as the American player matches. :(

Either way, I'm all for watching any masterful chun li player. I've yet to see an argument in ANY competition video that proves she's even remotely overpowered though...

I want Vega V-Skill to be a flip with KKK and an attack with PPP like everybody else

We must be able to combo anything from V-Trigger, not only Super, but any special.

Increase range and hit box on Claw mode and flying barcelonas, much more than the hurt box.

I want the old Scarlet terror back, fully invincible of course.

Give him a rose as a true projectile not only with V-Trigger.

I think that's fair game, so I will only ask that, but it should be more, judging the tournaments results of Vega's players so far.

I don't think anyone is arguing that Chun-li is overpowered, but she is one of the strongest characters in the game. She has few if any bad matchups and has the tools to handle any situation.

Go1 and MOV are among the best Chuns in Japan right now. You should check their stuff out.

dude, what the eff? Do you even play the game? You're just insulting. In February, Daigo was still training with Ryu and trying to grasp the changes to the character. That chun li was not button mashing in that video. She was playing extremely smart and exploiting Diago's weakness at the time. Daigo has always played extremely technical, responding to mistakes and putting in high damage combos at the hint of an opening. Chun is super fast, and as you can see in the video, there wasn't a lot of whiffing.

Since then, most Ryu guys have figured out what to do in those situations. Why would you even post this, and why post the button mashing comments when this guy wasn't just mashing buttons?
