Guys, I've figured it out! They're disappointing us on purpose so they can amaze us at E3 with better visuals and sounds for the PS4K version!

So it's GT6 remastered graphically with barely the same performance and it's an infrastructure of spectator and GUIs that might be good after 5 years of tweaking. So the next full installment will be ready for the PS5's launch! Neat.

The lack of visual effects is horrendous. Like, wtf? Is it a limitation of spectator mode? Surely the finished product couldn't lack that stuff? That's been standard fare for the entire GT series.

Ugh. Game has 7/10 written all over it even if this is all ironed out. Sony, get your shit together. This means as much as Uncharted 4 does for business.

GT sport doesn't look amazing but forza 6 doesn't either. I feel like I'm insane reading some of these comments, because forza on pc don't even look better than GT sport from what I played of forza pc and seen of gt sport. both look like shit.

OF COURSE! Instead of 4x jaggies, with 10 fps and 0 damage on cars, we will get 2x jaggies, 20fps. and get .5% damage on cars!

Wait...

Is it sad that I honestly think this is exactly what they're doing? So that when we do get PS4K footage we can tell immediately how much better it looks, something we couldn't do with a standard "bullshot" trailer?

Hmmm

edit: what I mean is showing us actual PS4 footage instead of using hi-def downsampled footage like they used to.

It is 50% done. And he also said it would get 50% better by the time it is released.

So it will be 75% done when released.

“After the successful launch of street fighter 5 we thought it would be a crime to not go the same route with another well known IP.“

Just skimming through the dvr footage (as I was out), it doesn't look nearly as bad as what some people here are acting like, but it doesn't look good enough to me to start showing off the game either.

People saying that we shouldn't criticize because it's an incomplete build and what not. They're the ones who decided to have a media event to show the damn thing off, they felt it was good enough to do so, critiques are expected. Especially when it looks like that they haven't really fixed the things that the past, completed entries, got criicized for. Better to raise your voices now and possibly be heard rather than end up with another Street Fighter V situation (I know it's not the same developer).

Edit: LOL at the post before mine.

This is going to be a bore to watch on such a long track. 16 cars on the Tokyo circuit felt about right.

Enough of the shitposting, seriously.

This game seems stuck somewhere in 2010. Meanwhile there are some great car racing games out there that set a high standard. Which this game just doesn't meet.

Why do people keep saying it is "stuck in 2010"? GT in 2010 already had dynamic weather and 24 hour cycles. If anything they were before anyone else (on consoles).

The problems with GT5 were the single player progression, the slowness of the menus, interface design, weird design decisions and loading times. How is Forza 6 so much different from GT6, or is it also stuck in 2010? And Project Cars? I mean, Driveclub is an arcade game with short events, kind of like Ridge Racer back in the 90s, amirite.

We know very little about the game itself. Obviously there's a lot of room for improvement from GT5-6 (less excentric stuff, more gameplay/online features, improved sounds, better graphics, etc) but just lazily parroting "PD are so stuck in the past" doesn't generate much discussion.

It's called a joke, and right above your post another did the same why are you not calling him out?

Time to calm down. They are the ones showing this off likes it's fine.

The cargo over the grass and literally nothing happens. They have a lot of work to do over the next 6 months.

As laughable as the sounds still are, and as frustrating as the minimal gfx update is, the absolutely most damning thing of this stream, that is very unlikely to change in future builds is how awful the actual racing looks. These are the very best GT drivers in the world, and they can't even piece together a believable race. I had races in the rookie division of iRacing that had more natural looking racing, and that is not even taking into account things like physics. The most talent GT drivers in the world...still bumper cars.

I'm just totally underwhelmed by this game so far.

I didn't buy GT6 and I really don't see myself spending my money on this either.

That's the whole idea of "stuck in 2010". Like they didn't improve enough on that great formula they had back then. So other games came from behind and passed them. That's what stuck in 2010 mean.

And it generates discussion, this is what we actually do now. What we should discuss about if not about the stream that this thread is about?

Report me for trolling ND/TLoU2 threads
I wonder if any of the devs are actually proud showing this off..? I would be embarrassed personally.

I think GAF races in GT5 with full damage already looked better than this. Pretty sure if they had had full damage/it was a more serious competition with actual training, big money rewards, longer than 10 minute races, etc it would look way more "professional".

To be fair the last race looked a bit better. It still didn't really look believable, but those guys at least looked like they were racing.

But remember there's apparently multiple(?) tournaments this stream?

So is this a completely separate project from GT7 or should any of this be considered as the current work in progress?

The footage looks like a remaster of GT6.

With PD it's probably safe to say that there's only one game in dev at a time. This is their big reveal and big game it seems.
