My wife is travelling, so was perfect time to finally repurpose our study to its rightful use as a NES cave.
WTF??? Shatterhand is 80 bucks now on amazon. Thank god I played it earlier!!!
Don't use Windex or a cotton swab. Use either an eraser or Rubbing Alcohol. Cotton swabs pull a part too easily. What do you guys recommend for cleaning NES carts? I usually do the windex on a cotton swab, but any other recommendations?
Does anyone know if it's possible to play famicom/nes Romsets on an fdsstick? I'm trying to play the Lagrange point translation but it I don't get the music when I play on my everdrive and AV famicom.

Open it up and use an eraser to rub off the grime and corrosion. Unless it's a real haggard flea market find, it should come right off. Brush off the leavings and you're done. No chemicals or drying off needed.

i blame this club =P jk,
Hah! It would be awesome if us picking a game would be enough to cause a run on a cart.
But seriously, there is some knowledge in this thread. If someone recommends picking up a game, they're probably doing so for a reason. Like right now? I'd recommend getting in on Shadow of the Ninja before the price skyrockets as well.
SotN skyrocketed before Shatterhand tho.I'd recommend getting in on Shadow of the Ninja before the price skyrockets as well.
It's got room to move, I think.SotN skyrocketed before Shatterhand tho.

Vinyl erasersWhat kind of eraser do you recommend? The kind at the end of pencil, or those thicker ones that are like 2-3 inches long?
But Shadow of the Ninja is now cheaper to get though!SotN skyrocketed before Shatterhand tho.
Exactly. Now is the time to buy before it really jumps. But Shadow of the Ninja is now cheaper to get though!
It's the other way around. Stinger is a cut down version of Moreo Twinbee.didn't realize Moero Twinbee was just a port of Stinger with a 3 player mode (whaa?)
Can anyone recommend a good composite audio splitter? The last one I got from monoprice was too thick, and seemed like it would harm the inputs.
I learned somewhere in this thread that you don't even need them for most tvs and it worked for me. Plug your one audio cord into the white jack on your tv and it splits it for you...in case I'm remembering wrong try the other way if that doesn't work.
Happy to find out that the Famicom Disk System games I bought, and my Twin Famicom disk drive, works...
Played Mystery of Murasame Castle, Esper Dream, and Moero Twinbee - didn't realize Moero Twinbee was just a port of Stinger with a 3 player mode (whaa?), Murasame isn't bad as a more linear, action-based take on Zelda (but not as good), and Esper Dream was a disappointment. It's an action RPG where you enter a separate battle arena by touching 'footprints' on the world map/in the dungeons... unfortunately, the enemies take too many hits and the game gets old fast.
Any other worthwhile FDS games I should look up?
I love FDS and have like 100 disks, but had never heard of the FDS Stick thing, looks pretty good.My FDS just isn't right. Thinking I will do the FDS Stick thing. Would love to collect (LOVE the look and feel of the disks) but it may not be worth it.
Yea some TVs offer this. The two I use do this. I was puzzled by it at first but it works. Thought my TV was having issues with audio.
@Teknoman
I don't know if you have a Radio Shack around but that is where I bought mine. I tried searching for a catalog number but I couldn't find it. I'll edit that info in if I find it.

Nice! I dont own Wrecking Crew, but I do own this one, so that will be fun.
Btw, just got Panic Restaurant for 60$. Decent deal?

Hey y'all, get ready to raid that Crystal Palace in June!
Looking it up, the composer for this one's actually Tomohisa Mitsuyasu - though Iwata did do some sort of sound work on the game, and it's surprising to see a name as familiar as his come up. I know he did a lot of awesome Genesis work, paired with Hitoshi Sakamoto.I'd say so. Cart only goes at least twice that right?
Also yay for Conquest! Know who else worked on this game? The guys behind the Ogre Battle ( Yasumi Matsuno and composer Masaharu Iwata).
FDS is awesome. Heaps of great, exclusive games. What's the benefit of owning a Famicom Disk System? It looks really neat but I'm unsure what I'd use it for. I assume that FDS games work on the NES everdrive doesn't require the FDS. Anyone got one? What do you use it for? Would you recommend one?
Ai Senshi Nicol - 10/10 game with amazing music
Arumana no Kiseki - 10/10 game with amazing music
Falsion - awesome shooter
Meikyuu Jiin Dababa - Awesome puzzle platformer with amazing music
Gyruss - much better music than the cart version
Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa - much better music than the cart version
Akumajo Dracula - Castlevania with saving
Moreo Twinbee - released in modified without three player support as Stinger
Smash Ping Pong (published by Nintendo) - very cool ping pong arcade game
Dracula 2 - Castlevania II with higher quality music but very frustrating load times!
Doremikko - music game that comes with a Keyboard
Naze no Kabe - Awesome expansion on the Arkanoid formula, releaed as Crackout in PAL
Final Command: Red Fortress - was released in expanded form as Jackal - completely different levels here though, I think of it as a prequel.
Exciting Baseball - Double Dribble with cool music, minus the cutscenes
Exciting Soccer - fantastic soccer game. Best of 8-bit soccer games
Konami Tennis - really great tennis game. Best of 8-bit except Game Boy Tennis.
Konami Ice Hockey - Blades of Steel - basically the same as cart version
Very nice get! Good deal.
I'd say so. Cart only goes at least twice that right?
I don't know if I'm missing sarcasm, but thats a crazy good deal, it goes for 450-600 usually.
Just hope it isn't a repro
On the note of those two games though, Shatterhand and Shadow of the Ninja are both games I got quite cheap ($4 for Shatterhand and $5 for Shadow of the Ninja, loose carts only) in July 2012. That's not THAT long ago, but since both have seen huge price spikes, Shatterhand particularly... I'd would almost certainly not own either one at the $20-$40 (loose, if you get a good deal) they go for today. I don't love either game but they are nice to have for sure. Shadow of the Ninja is good though difficult, but I have issues with Shatterhand... your attack is too short range, that game is maybe too hard.
