To watch a deconstruction of how it all went wrong from the player's and coach's point of view. Have you not watched many sports documentaries? There are at least as many covering it all going wrong as covering it all going right.

OKC is an underdog, yes, but they also have two of the top 10 players in the league. This is a clash of good teams, not a Rocky vs Apollo moment. This series will be more remembered for the high level of play than for the breaking up of the dream season (if OKC wins, that is). Especially if the Dubs come right back and win next year.

Pressure is still on Warriors.

OKC will feel pretty confident going into game 6.

If it goes to game 7 OKC will be feeling an unbelievable amount of pressure and at that point i'd say GS will smack them.

Don't see it getting there. OKC is going to come out hot.

They showed the OKC bench at the end of the game and they were heads high and looking confident. If they feel like the pressure is on them, then they weren't showing it. It's all on the GSW not to get destroyed in OKC.

Also game 5 was a very odd game with all the players slipping around on the floor. I wonder what was up with that.

I think more than the Warriors season, this game will define how people view Curry's unanimous MVP (whether it was earned or hyperbole).

Everyone remembers the infamous 1995 WCF when Hakeem Olajuwon took MVP David Robinson to school; to this day it still tarnishes Robinson's legacy, despite being one of the more dominant players of the early to mid-90s. In any ranking of great NBA players/centers, Robinson's position will always be at best Olajuwon -1.

If Curry loses and gets outplayed by Westbrook, it harms his legacy (how can a GOAT candidate be beaten head to head by a guy playing the same position?) more than the Warriors, who have already won at least one.

It's been a terrible series full of blow outs. There were only 2 competetive games out of the 5. This will not be remembered as an amazing series unless we have a game 6 and game 7 that go wire to wire. The only interesting storyline at all is the 73 win GSW managed to be down 3-1 in the WCF. If the GSW manage to win this series it will only enhance their dream season. If they lose, the dream season goes bust which is a story all of it's own.

If Curry loses and gets outplayed by Westbrook, it harms his legacy (how can a GOAT candidate be beaten head to head by a guy playing the same position?) more than the Warriors, who have already won at least one.

Is there even a point guard in the league that could play heads up with Westbrook in a 7 game series and not come off looking lesser the way he is playing? The physical advantages he has over every other player at that position are ridiculous. And this is the post ACL tear Westbrook which is insane. There was a legitimate case to be made for Westbrook getting at least some first place votes, and it's going to be an embarrassment if OKC wins a title since Westbrook had a historic season and still got 0 first place MVP votes.

It is a regular season award and he was the best player in the regular season. Not sure how this changes that. He was better than Westbrook in the regular season.

He is also pretty clearly playing hurt.

At this point, pressure is on everyone. As much as I love the warriors, gonna give edge to OKC however to close it out.

OKC playing pretty much lights out.

It's not that he got MVP, but that he got it unanimously. Westbrook's season was also absolutely amazing. Westbrook had 18 triple doubles in the regular season.

So? Everyone that voted agreed he was the best. It's not that shocking.

He had a historically great season.

A vote for someone else really made no sense this year.

That doesn't mean Westbrook wasn't great. He was. As were Lebron and Kawhi and others. Curry was simply greater.

It will be the writers that voted themselves that will be looking back and be chagrined that they gave Westbrook 0 first place votes if OKC wins the title. Again, it's not that they voted him MVP, it's that it was unanimous. Even Jordan never had a uninanimous MVP.

I think it worked out in OKC's favor. I'm sure Westbrook is absolutely fired up to show everyone it should have been him. He's a man on a mission and it shows.

They have two days to think about the fact that if they lose this next game, they're going to be crucified for choking the lead away. They know this is their last best chance to close it out, that is clear and undeniable pressure.

Game 6 is the real game 7 of this series. Just like it was last year when the Rockets came back from being down 3-1.

westbrook plays on a team with kevin durant

the mvp argument will always be tough for either one of them unless they put the team on their back while the other one is injured or something

If you go back historically, Magic Johnson could probably go toe to toe. The thing is they aren't really playing head-to-head because Curry doesn't guard Westbrook that much at all.

It definitely shouldn't have been, though. Westbrook's just really good.

I always dislike this argument. "Voters fucked up in the past, so could they please keep fucking up?". Might as well fix it at some point.

Guys like Jordan should have had unanimous years, but votes weren't public so you had local media put in troll votes for their guys without risking public shame. Plus I think many people in the media are simply smarter these days thanks to things like analytics. People are able to understand the game better on average imo.

+7 forced turnovers for curry on westbrook and 20 contested shots out of 25

when matched up against westbrook curry has done his job well. have active hands, contest without fouling, and funneling him into the help defense.

Magic Johnson trying to guard Westbrook would be hilarious. Dude would basically be a traffic cone in a layup line for Russ.

For how many times Westbrook fumbled the damn ball trying to go too quick? Play is definitely more sloppy now from Magic's time.

A solid defensive scheme can rattle Westbrook occasionally, but as far as 1 on 1 defense? Magic would have no hope of staying in front of him. Russ may be the greatest athlete at the point guard position in NBA history.

Magic had trouble guarding speedy point guards throughout his career to the point that he was guarding small forwards on opposing teams. Westbrook, the human missile would just be doing 48 minutes worth of layup drills all over Magic.

It's not even halftime and it looks like this is over. OKC is more aggressive, and GS is still settling for jump shots.

EDIT: Adams dunking on Green was some beautiful justice.

Over? You must not watch much basketball. It's a game of runs. GS can easily come back from a deficit. That's not too say they will but at this level it's rarely over in the first half.

I watch tons of basketball, which is why I said "looks like". GS could come back indeed, but OKC seems to be setting the pace and GS hasn't been able to counter their aggressive play so far.

I dont really have a dog in this fight, but the Sonics fan in me hopes GS wins. I don't want OKC in any position to win a title.
