Horizon Zero Dawn - Aloy's Journey Trailer, delayed to February 28th, 2017

The dissonance between the super serious tone and the fact that the game is about robot dinosaurs. Couple that with the bad dialogue and VA, makes it seem like the narrative won't be one to remember

Honestly who cares? Give me a story the drives the gameplay. That's where this sort of game should shine anyway. IMO nothing about the dialogue is offensive or bad. I didn't really care or notice because the game looks good and the gameplay looks great.

I doubt many people are hung up on the dialogue.

Damn, $120? There should totally be one without the statue for some price inbetween $60 and $120 with that box. Gaaaahhhhh

Supposedly there is a limited edition that is exactly that which is what I'm waiting for to go on sale. I don't need a large statue but if it isn't too much more (Including amazon's discount for pre ordering) I wouldn't mind the steelbook and artbook.

It was so clearly never being released this year...there was no chance. I am not surprised about the delay...still looking forward to seeing more as it could really go either way.

I play it every once in awhile on weekends without problems. On a weeknight..might be difficult.

Wish it had a larger community, I think the online is great.
Sounds good. I'll give it a run this weekend.

I'm hoping Horizon actually has a bunch of fun boss fights. Trailer definitely makes it seem that way.

I hope so. I like a good steelbook edition but I don't want a house full of dumb statues.

And so the delays begin . Next is TLG.

Anyway looks good though I wasn't sold on the voice acting .
A part of me is also said that this is probably the first trailer of a ps4 exclusive where I have to lower my expectations in regards to presentation (as everything from now on is obviously running on the neo)

Your post feels weirdly handwavey. I mean I clearly care and so do a lot of people that have said similar things in this thread. That's not to say you should feel the same way, it's just a bigger factor for some than others.

Didn't they just reconfirm like a week ago that TLG is 2016?

Fixed for ya.

Also, I'm buying that CE.

Of course, always aim for the best.

And honestly I don't see the point of a new IP having a CE (other than getting more money from gamers). Why would people pay for the protagonist's figurine? What if she sucks? What if the game sucks?

People love the design it just a figure dont see the issue.

Don't know if someone posted this thought, but after this trailer I have a gut feeling Aloy
is a machine
. Seems really obvious.

Sorry didn't mean to come off like that. I just see a lot of very hyperbolic statements in this thread. The dialogue isn't anything amazing, but it's not bad either.

wow looks so good. Media blackout here I go
Yea, now I'm really debating going full media blackout and skipping their E3 stage demo this year. I know they'll show a ton of the game and spoil so many damn locations/encounters like they did with UC4 I felt.

I really hope exploration is like Xenoblade Chronicles.

That game spoiled "open-world" games for me, with regards to scope and creativity.

It's not a game if it's not delayed, right?

Looks freaking amazing! Been ages since I saw something this... inspired.

Yea, it's a pretty fresh premise for a modern AAA RPG.

I had grown weary of all those high-fantasy stuff the past several years (specifically DA and TW series).

To be honest I would rate it closer to bad than mediocre, I'll still probably buy the game because the demo last year looked really fucking fun but I think it's a fair criticism.

Not sure what you are looking for but:

This wilderness is a fully open world

The gigantic, verdant landscape you see in the demo isn't just for show - as in Skyrim, every distant mountaintop, far-off forest, or apartment-complex-turned-waterfall is an actual area you can visit as you trek through the virtual wilderness. Better yet, Horizon: Zero Dawn does away with any load times, so your journey will be entirely seamless. To help sell the sensation that you're adventuring through Earth's actual remains, there's also the requisite day/night cycle and weather systems, as well as interplay between the different pieces of Horizon's ecosystem.

Each cyber-species can roam freely throughout the environment, with the capacity to react to each other even if Aloy's not directly involved. Guerilla Games has stated that the goal is to design the robotic wildlife in such a way that leads to memorable moments without the need for scripted vignettes. To help the player understand how these creatures are interacting with one another, the bright lights that function as their eyes are color-coded. Blue means they're just going about their instinctual business, yellow indicates that something has startled them, and red means they're either fleeing in fear or aggressively charging at their prey.

The voice over sucked - way too many lines. Still really looking forward to seeing more of the game. I'll be disappointed if there's no new demo at E3.

Disappointed but not surprising, at least they finally showed more footage after a year of radio silence.

As much as I adore Guerilla Games, is it wrong that I forgot about this game? I mean, I'm really, really excited for it, but after not hearing about it since last year's E3, I just assumed it wasn't releasing this year. I saw it during the behind closed door showing last year, and it looked amazing, but Sony has been good at having regular updates for the games releasing in 2016 on PlayStation Blog. This game hasn't been a regular fixture on the blog with stuff like dev diaries or updates.

I'm not bummed by the push. I can't wait for the game, but there's so much coming out still that has my interest that I'll be ok.

It was to be expected that this will be delayed. Take the time you need, Guerilla Games. It looks amazing and I love the box art.
