Yes, post-post apocalyptic mysteries where mankind managed to survive in a world ruled by robotic animals and fall back to almost stone-age tech are totally generic as fuck...
The setting itself isn't generic but I could see why someone thinks the way the story is seemingly headed is generic or predictable (just based off this new trailer)

I was mad about the delay, but then I watched the trailer.

I understand now. GG take your time.

Don't see how you can be too mad about a 2 month delay anyways.

Although I guess we live in a world where a 3 week (or whatever it was) delay of NMS apparently rocked the lifestyle of some gamers to their very core. :p

For RPGs, the world and setting trump the core story for me. Many are formulaic. As long as everything is well presented and there are good options for dialogue, combat, and exploration I'll be satisfied.

My only beef right now is that the statue isn't of Aloy riding a Dino-mech like she's Axe Cop. =D

My lord this is some ridiculous nitpicking and I thought I was used to it by now.

Yeah it is, it's gonna happen though it being a hyped exclusive, we know nothing of story and it's guerilla so it's an easy target for concerned trolling. Awesome box art.

This.

Same here at this point every story going to be a mix and match of stuff done before .
Once it okay it all good .

Part of me is still a skeptic just because Guerilla has never proven themselves to me to be able to make a great single player game. Like, I would be much less skeptical if this game was from Naughty Dog, for example. BUT, I know they have some new talent there, and I love the visuals and concept of the game, so I really am hoping for the best.

I just hope that it really WILL be a big, deep, meaningful open world game, and not something like an Infamous Second Son/Shadow of Mordor small, shallow kind of open world game.

how is that nitpicking? robot dinosaurs is silly as fuck.

Let's not employ a serious tone to the trailer because it includes robot dinosours, mechanically augmented terrorists, underwater city with spliced people, a racist city in the sky or The Witcher killing a vampire.

No sir, you must employ something true to the world as we know it.

One way to handle adding variety in this game, but creates less distinction from other games.

You can't be serious. I honestly don't know how you can watch a trailer that is 90% giant awesome dinosaur combat and then see a smattering of human conflict and come away concerned.

I just can't even begin to understand how you watch that trailer and that is the conclusion your mind comes to.

Looks really good, ordered the CE.

Hope it lives up to the hype, because I have hopes of it being one of the next big IPs.

Er.. meh... lerd.

Looks soooo fucking good. Exploring the ancient cities is going to incredible. That shot with that place up in the tree.. mah gawd!!

Game looks good. Pretty excited for this, actually.

I'm a little worried that the video is a kind of bullshot though. Will be awesome if the game looks that crisp. Guerilla are great with tech, though, so it will at least be a good looking game.

I like the steelbook design the best. Would be nice to just get that and the game without the extra stuff.

Don't worry, I still want to play the game. I'm not all that bothered by it, which is why I said "slightly" in my initial post.
