God of War E3 thread (impressions, interviews and new info)

A member pointed I that out in the other thread. In the final scene with dragon/wyvern, If you look closely in between the trees, just above the animal Kratos killed, you can see a -what looks like a scaly snowfield- slowly moving towards the left side of the screen.

Yea, I see it (on mobile as well). White scales slowly moving left.

Definitely not an STD, as I'm a pure.
Cory Barlog mentioned in one of the interviews at E3 that its hard for Kratos to be a father because he was raised in the Spartan Agoge, the most brutal military training the world has ever seen..so Kratos never really had a family or father?

I mean his father is Zeus and his mother is Callisto. He also has a brother named Deimos and a half brother in Hercules. Of course their never was a "family" bond between them. And he had a wife and daughter.

For the guys who asked about the thing which was moving in the final scene of the trailer. Do you mean this?

In the name of Odin's beard what the fuck is that?

It might be the Midgard Serpent. However, in norse mythology, the Midgard Serpent is so huge that circles the world and bites his tail. They could included many Serpents smaller in size and the big one as a boss fight, though.

:O

This one looks gigantic as it is, cant imagine a space size serpent as a boss fight, maybe Bayonetta style could work.

Id love bluepoint to remaster GoW 1 & 2 and throw in the already remastered 3 into a collection before launching this game in 2018.

I'm really glad that this game is not open world. I'm cool with the idea of the game feeing more open and having bigger environments that can breath more. But I don't want some Witcher 3 kind of environments. I really do think fully open world significantly impacts the combat in a negative way.

I have one small nitpick/complaint about the demo.

The "poise" or animation state of Kratos when he's walking/jogging when fighting the troll is way too casual. It's like he's just walking or jogging normally and not in a battle state.

It would be better if the game puts Kratos is a different animation poise once he enters different battles.

The epic showpiece of Kratos running on the back of the midgard serpent while fighting that I know is coming is going to be amazing if it is even half as cool as I am making it in my head

Holy shit, never noticed that thing in the distance. WTF? What could it be? I'm sure I read about a serpent in Norse mythology. They need to do a breakdown video of all the things present in the trailer.

Wait, so this is already rated by the ESRB? Kind of disappointed that sex mini-game stuff must be back in (considering the content descriptions are the same as the the earlier games).

but dont you guys think Kratos seems kind of strict

i mean despite being a jerk in the beginning it seemed like Joel cared more about Ellie than Kratos does with his son..and Ellie wasn't even Joel's daughter

We haven't seen the end of the game yet. Who's to say that the relationship between them doesn't grow to something akin to JoEllie? After all, isn't the premise of the game, "Kratos teaches his son to be a god, while his son teaches him to be human?" Come on, man.

Just seeing all these creature in the background and what not is kind of creepy.

If the game is actually full of those kinds of details, that will go a long way towards justifying the change in camera style for me.

I have to assume they're still working on Kratos' animations because so far they aren't quite up to par with the previous games.

You know, I almost want them to pull a bait and turn Kratos into the same hulking, savage mass-murdering, raging maniac. I keep seeing these guys say 'OH SHIT! NOW WE'RE ON BOARD! THIS SERIES DID NOTHING FOR ME BEFORE!'. Kinda Funny guys and that IGN guy included. Ofcourse that's not going to happen.

THIS. They should do a remaster collection of all the games, including PSP games, and bring it out before this arrives. That way I don't have to dig out my PS3 to replay the series. :p

This is Sony. No way. Holiday 2017 at the earliest.

I get the impression that Sony has pretty much decided it's best to leave holidays to their 3rd parties. I think March 2018 is a good bet given the release history of the franchise.

It could be background stuff too (a brothel or similar). Doesn't mean that it's a mini-game.

regardless of Kratos new life in Scandinavia...

he will and always will be a Spartan, its in his blood...I think that is going to be hard for him to break...you can still see he carries Greek iconography like the Alpha symbol on his back

its going to be interesting in this game if he can really leave Sparta behind

What is it now, 2 or 3 years in a row where Sony's Holiday season was made up of a small game and 3rd party and still won. Pretty sure they don't mind pushing their big games outside of that time to give it space and to space out releases through the fiscal year to make everything look nice to investors.

I can easily see this hitting the August-October stretch of 2017 since Horizon is hitting in Feb and betting Spiderman can hit in the summer, making days gone the Feb-May stretch of 2018
