Mighty No. 9 |OT| The Blue Bomba

There's a chance they wanted to be anonymous, but they also could have missed or not responded to the "Name you want in the credits" email that was sent to backers in...2014 or something. If you didn't respond to that then I don't think there was any default for them to use, and because they never responded to e-mails then you were essentially out of luck(?).

I can confirm if this is the case whenever I see the backer credits since I'm one of those people :/

I went to search my emails if I got one and I did and forgot to fill it out. It's so stupid. Any other Kickstarted project uses the Kickstarter survey to ask what your name is.

When do European Wii U versions get sent to backers? I've been checking threads off and on but couldn't find a definitive answer, other than "VERY SOON"... Eehhh.

It's a good game. It's not as good as Gunvolt, but the gameplay is still solid and fun. As a hardcore Mega Man fan, this scratches the itch. Will definitely go for the high scores and challenges.

Yeah played a bit...some levels are annoying like countershade but I really like the Avi one.

If it wasn't for the absolutely garrish visuals I think people wouldn't be as harsh on this game. Right now yeah it stands a very average with more lows than highs but it shows really how PR can hurt perception

I disagree. I expect Mega Man/Mega Man X games to be challenging. This is MAYBE passable as a no-name platformer but it lacks the difficulty of MM/MMX. Especially that "final boss". Ugh.

I think it was probably all PR. People can forgive bad visuals but the whole thing has been such a mess from a PR perspective that it's become one of those things that people want to hate. From the little I've played thus far, it's fine. Not mind blowingly take all of my money amazing, but just "okay".

Yeah I haven't see all the bosses and i've seen some which are really bad (the final boss). And the other ones really are big bullet sponges which is mostly annoying. Not saying the game is good, it's largely mediocre but there's definitively potential in some aspects

I just can't get over how bad the Capitol Building level is. Who thought it was a good idea to have the entire level be a hallway and playing hide-n-seek with the boss?

I'm having random framedrop/skip with GTX970 lol. This didn't happen with the demo. Wondering how did they make it run worse in full game.

Much would be forgiven if the game had a strong art style and overall presentation.

im going to take a wild guess and say that the game is running on Unity and thats why it has a shitty performance. Its just a hunch.

The brand level is terrible. You can actually die in the beginning because the screen won't scroll and you are supposed to kill a bunch of mob until it starts scrolling hahaha.

Already killed 3 of the bosses. It's not an awful game. The controls are fine and fluid but it's an ugly game and most stages so far had a frustrating gimmick,

No it's UE3

lol this is gold

Is it sad that the only enjoyment I get from this game is shit like this?

Yeah it's kinda sad really. Given the amount of time to the product's release and their willingness to do platform surveys again you'd think they'd at least find the time to do a second-run of credit names. Of course there's the problem of having to adjust the credits, but I don't think it would be asking too much.

You can only dash in the direction you are moving. You can't back dash.

Also meant to comment on this. I think Teknoman was talking about that maneuver where Beck jumps back while shooting. Maybe. Which makes me wonder if they did a better job of making players aware of the "advanced" techniques since the demo. I'll find out when I start playing later tonight, but my guess is no.

lol. i just looked this up.. and yep. UDK3. thats crazy. How can they manage to get bad performance from an Engine that is so optimized and runs on everything now a days?

Thank You For Paying.

That's actually Mega Ran. He's a video game rapper, but even calling him that does him no justice. He used to rap about MM, so when he got on this game he was so excited.

Too bad it's not nearly as good as the MM games, but maybe Capcom could pay him to do some tracks for SF or something.

Mega Ran is awesome. I listen to his Final Fantasy VII album often.

Someone should take the OG Kickstarter page and change its title to "Kickstarter Campaign for Video Game Industry Drama featuring Inafune" or something.

Sooooooo the code inside the box for PS4 has the full digital game code added into that one code. I'm sure it's already been noted but I deleted the disc install and downloaded the game lol sold the disc already.

While I am enjoying this (Wii U) it still reminds me of how much I suck at Mega Man and how I no longer have the patience that the kid version of me had that finished them decades ago. XD

Did anyone else in North America get a PSN code that still will not work?

It's not a matter of the store not being updated as far as I can tell... I fear they gave me the wrong region or something.

I'll give this game a try someday if a friend has it but no way I'm giving money for that.
On the other hand, I've bought The Legend of Dark Witch on 3DS eShop for 3€ and this is actually a pretty good Mega Man game with Gradius mechanics.
If you guys are starving for a fun and challenging game similar to Mega Man you should try it, it also has a free demo!

Right? But it's supposed to be "hard" because the health bar is stupidly long.

I'm convinced that half the people posting this have never actually fought a Mega Man boss. The Robot Masters were absolutely bullet sponges, unless you had their weakness. Try taking them down with just your buster and see how long that health bar feels.

The problem with the way Mighty No. 9 handles it specifically is it doesn't have that knockback the Megaman bosses have after you hit them with the weapon they're weak to, or a few buster shots. In Mighty No. 9, you just repeatedly shoot at the boss until you need to dodge an attack, because there's no point where the boss becomes invulnerable. (except for when you need to dash at them) You then rinse and repeat until the boss is dead.

Coupled with how simplistic the boss patterns are (at least, as far as I've played) the game isn't even remotely a challenge.

Can Humble Bundle or Comcept actually see if you've downloaded the client or revealed the Steam key? I'm tired of w8ing for my PSN key and it's getting really tempting to try out the PC version.

No. You're definitely the one who has Mega Man bosses wrong.

Here's a MN9 boss: https://youtu.be/w0NIaNYhWPw?t=97

Fight goes from 1:37 to 3:37 and there's a goddamn dialog break in the middle (because we want that mid boss fight, I guess?) Length: 2 minutes.

Here's every boss, BUSTER ONLY, from Mega Man 1-6:

https://youtu.be/NSYPZpltS8A?t=12

The first fight goes from 12 seconds to 53 seconds. Length: 41 seconds.

AND THAT'S ONE OF THE LONG ONES.
