Lesson of the day, it's best not to be a scheming scumbag for a living.

I prefer "wrecked", because I'm classy.I love how rek is a verb now
What would the past tense be? rekt? rak?
The thing that really pisses me off about all of this is that both of these guys were already rich just from making youtube videos before they even started this CSGOlotto nonsense. At what point do you have enough money that you don't want to go and do shady ass shit like this? Apparently it's never enough for some people. Scumbags.
Good video; I enjoyed hearing your reaction and take on the situation. I feel like you did a good job portraying, not just your own but, most people thoughts on the matter.
To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed that you do not look like your avatar.
Heh.
I'd be surprised if they weren't.Do you guys hate internet detectives? I hope not.
What if I tell you that a lot of these major CS:GO gambling websites are working together?
The FTC would go in hard on the betting against yourself while also being in control of the wheel, so to speak. He's not only allowing for underaged gambling, he's also fixing the odds entirely in his own favor while betting on it.

I like how it uses gambling terminology. I think the video says "this is basically gambling" as well, hope they people in charge don't go "hey, it's not gambling, man"Best part is that their Steam page clearly states the awesomeness of gambling:

Lots of games use the roulette mechanic for microtransactions of items in a game with random chance at better things, but Valve are the only ones (that I know of) that make those tradable and sellable within Steam.
Why are people saying this is a legally grey area? Because it's online? No, that's not a grey area. Because the product being wagered isn't currency? No, that isn't a grey area. The wager can be a product of value and doesn't have to be currency directly.
So what area is grey people are referring to?
it's just video games nbd
Do go on.Do you guys hate internet detectives? I hope not.

tmartnJust: won a $23,600 pot. I can't even. Video soon!
You're likely right.
Although depending on how much this blows up, who knows whether they'll use this opportunity to make an example of them and set a precedent for new legislation that's regularly enforced online.
I know it's not good to wish bad upon others, but I'd be lying if I said wouldn't feel smug if they were given short sentences in jail.

Absolutely no one on GAF with an account in good standing should be naive enough to think it's not possible. Should. What if I tell you that a lot of these major CS:GO gambling websites are working together?

Yep. This is a perfect example of why they are likely going to face some kind of repercussions now that this stuff is coming to light. Just some really fucked up shit.It can be argued that he stole $23,600 from people by betting and weighing it so that he could win correct?
Some random kids could pop up on his site wanting to bet there $800 knife and he just logs into the mod account and "wins" the item with a 100% chance of success?
This is the narrative I am hoping get pushed heavily. He established an illegal gambling site that he [could have] used to steal digital items that hold real world value from people.

I get to wake up every day of my life and do what I love, sharing my passion with people that I love. Thank you for supporting me and enabling me to do that.
All of this is from a 15 year old kid who had big dreams, a hard work ethic, and a love for video games. I remember when gaming was looked down upon, as a waste of time and productivity. Now we have entertainers with millions of subscribers and competitive CounterStrike on live TV.
Anything is possible, work hard, do what you love, and create your own luck. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise.
Thanks dudes

So that video was up for months with thousands upon thousands of views and not a single person noticed the bot profile login, him trading to another bot (39!), or a bot's twitter in the bookmark bar? Even the internet sucks at noticing itself being the internet, apparently.Absolutely no one on GAF with an account in good standing should be naive enough to think it's not possible. Should.
money is one hell of a drugPeople never cease to amaze me... I can't comprehend how some people just can't tell themselves that what they already have is enough.

Create your own luck LOL.
To be honest I'm just not familiar with the laws around gambling. Maybe it's all actually pretty clear cut.
I do not think that "it's just video games" diminishes the severity of the act. Just that it seems that this specific situation might be unprecedented and partially unaccounted for in the current legal setup, but my knowledge of the laws around this are pretty much non-existent.
