Uhhh I have to agree with Crossing Eden, ingame Luna looks too "perfect", it will be jarring seeing her after the movie.

Meanwhile, Regis seems to look very similar both in the game and in the movie.

They changed Regis's look because they liked the appearance of his film actor.

Really don't like the idea of having different voice actors for the game/anime and this movie.
I would like them to put additional voice tracks on the blu-ray with the game voices (both english and japanese).

Prefer game Luna as well.

Wait is that true? Then why couldn't they do it for other characters?

Probably because the Regis redesign was met with a lot of backlash. I wish they had changed in-game Luna to the Kingsglaive design, but at the same time I'm glad they kept the old Iedolas in the game as he looks incredibly weird in Kingsglaive. Considering how I like individual designs in both Kingsglaive and XV, I don't even care about the inconsistency. Both have good and bad designs imo.

Probably time constraints. Plus avoiding backlash from changing a character:---> from a person with a perfect skin complex and doll like appearance to -->someone who looks tired and has imperfections. I mean in another kingsglaive thread some people baffling enough were straight up saying that Luna looks like she's straight up sick in the film.

Apparently they say in the Famitsu article that Ravus' outfit in the game is different (I don't know if this translation is 100% accurate) so maybe there's still a chance for some hood action.

That sucks :/ lots of people complain about the main chars looking all perfect in every situation.

It could have been worse though, in Advent Children everyone looked doll-like, so judging by their work with kingsglaive it could mean that (hopefully) SE adopts the same character design philosophies from the recent movie into their next games. (Look at cloud from FF7R)

Ooooh, some confirmation on this would be cool.

The magazine describes Ravus (voiced by Yuuichi Nakamura, motion capture by David Nutley) as Lunafreya’s brother – a high ranking staff officer in the Niflheim army who, during the events of the film, joins the signing of the peace treaty in Insomnia. While we see his face clearly in the movie, fans are asked to pay attention to the change in his clothing and expression in the final game. It’s likely he’s the hooded man from previous trailers.

So it is and must be
Hooded-kun
for all existence.

A question guys

Is that really him redesigned? Not talking about Gladio.

I must be the only one that actually likes this redesign. The new one looks like a Rome Senate (in my imagination anyway). The old one looks too cool to hold high position in a kingdom.

That was kind of... the point.

I don't get why they redesigned Gladio's father for him to not look like his son at all, but again, Regis and Noctis look nothing alike. The old design was way cooler and got the "I have control in this kingdom because I fought alongside the king in the past" point better than the new one.

Claurus' new design looks like a grandpa in distress. Looking at his old design, I always got the impression that he was ready to fight and that he didn't actually care about politics, just wanted to get shit done. Now he looks like he would give up his kingdom at the very first threat. Tabata has ruined it.

EDIT:I just realized that Noctis and Co are going to Altissia for a wedding with Luna, yet she's in Insomnia. Any impressions say that they explain why?
In one cutscene Luna says that
she's being pursued by the empire. Maybe she sneaked into Insomnia without Noctis knowing on some kind of mission. She says she "came to Insomnia on her on volition", maybe she got to Insomnia to protect Noctis after hearing about the peace treaty with the Empire and figuring out that they are up to no good, but just missed him and was left in the middle of the mess of an invasion. Regis is trying to get her to leave Insomnia to be on Noctis' side but she refuses because she thinks that would endanger Noctis as well. She says something like "If I make my move now, Noctis will be endangered too."

I'm really missing Nomura's character designs. People give him a lot of crap, but no one can deny his characters are memorable. Nothing about that guy on the right looks like something I'd remember for very long at all.

she looks like prompto's coke buddy in the movie
awful
I don't think you've ever met someone who does coke. Take it from me neither of them resemble people who casually do drugs, or are sick. Like holy shit have people never seen a woman wearing small amounts of makeup?

Oh ok, makes sense.
