New Pokémon Revealed- Salandit

Looks cool. I like the design but I prefer the pose from the concept art than his in game pose.... the way he sits there looks more like a cat or dog than a lizzard

I'll stick this in the OP too, but the backstory is... quite something.

Salandit emits toxic gas, together with flames, from the base of its tail. This poisonous gas has a sweet smell, and anyone who unknowingly breathes it in will become dizzy. Salandit is not a very powerful Pokémon, but its cunning nature allows it to battle fiercely by throwing its opponents off balance. Salandit females not only release toxic gases, they can also emit pheromones that attract males of all species, including Pokémon and humans. Inhaling these pheromones may cause opponents to be controlled by Salandit’s will.

Cool D:

Like the detail that the black part of the head kind of looks like a mask or something tied on the back of his neck.

This baby better be good defensively. Being able to poison steel types is huge. That double ground weakness, though...

Let's hope its evolution looks just as good as this.

So,he farts fire with poison? that's one flaming asshole of a skill.

That's the face of a monster that knows that can get away with all the shit he pulls

It kind of looks like a mini Ridley actually, in that ingame screenshot... you know aside from the lack of wings and purple and everything that'd make it Ridley so nevermind

since cannot watch video as of now being at work, did they show any poison pokemon get damaged by being poisoned from this new ability ?

Cot. Dam.

That is sleek as all hell. Fuckng a. He looks fucking slippery and sneaky. Love it. Perfect for me. I like to get a team of Pokemon that I gel with. Pokemon that represent a personality trait of mine...

Yep. Zubat takes damage from poison.

As an aside, there's some weird, volcanic, pyroclastic flow nonsense happening in the background of that battle.

With all these cool new abilities what are they going to do in regards to hidden abilities? Like they've already given most Pokemon a hidden ability? Are these ew abilities going to be limited to new 'Mons?

I'm pretty sure they've changed Pokemon's Hidden Abilities before so they might just do that again.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe

they changed a few old mon's HA before

also despite having cool new abilities we might end up seeing hidden/secret abilities too, like how gen VI had Pixilate and Aerilate

Really like. Will probably be the fire Pokemon in my team. Depends on the evolutions though.

Team so far: Rowlett and Salandit.

It'll be a bit weird if they keep retconning hidden abilities every gen though surely? What are the examples of Pokemon that had theirs changed from V to VI?

Wait corrosion allows it to poison steel AND poison types? Man these gen 7 abilities are crazy.

Wonder how that affects immunity, toxic heal, etc.

I love it, really surprised to see some people don't like the design, it's not over-designed and it's unique and cool and grounded.

I've always wanted that ability too because it makes so much sense. There's tons of poisons out there that can melt steel and are completely different from other poisons. I don't even know why steel is immune to poison to begin with.

Dito.

I might add Vikavolt and that's my imaginary team right now. ^^

Since the pokemon with Toxic Heal is really having the poison status alignment, i don't think that this ability will change anything there.

I could see us getting new Mega evos with these kinds of abilities too. For example, if we got a Mega Snorlax, I could see it getting Comatose!

Off the top of my head Chandelure(Shadow tag to infiltrator)
Scolipede(quick feet to Speed boost)

Pretty sure there's more but those two are the main ones I remember.

Hmm good point. Still It'd be hilarious if corrosion ignored said ability.
